I would have begun this video with the building with the mosaic that was a block long. The Stemper Opera House is important, but the restorations to some of the buildings seemed clumsy since the DDR had few artisans after the wall went up. Narration here is vital.
Since the wall fell, Dresden has had a renaissance! The very open space must be an aftermath of the firebombing of Dresden on February 14, 1945, a “Take That” on the part of the Brits and the Americans, about which the Americans know little or nothing. The fact that there is so little traffic may be attributed to the fact that in the DDR, citizens could not afford cars, and this is still a recovering economy.
