Flying from Manchester to Lanzarote with Ryanair for a day trip there in December 2019!
This flight was part of a ~ £70 day trip to the Canaries, which isn’t a bad price given its proximity to Christmas! Lanzarote is also great for spotting (as are all Canary Islands airports!) so it’s definitely a worthwhile trip.
Soon after departure we were treated to a brilliant sunrise as we cruised towards the Canaries. The flight passed uneventfully as most Ryanair flights do! The Boeing Sky interior on EI-GSJ is particularly nice in the early morning or late evening, when the colours can match those of the sky!
The return flight was with TUI but we had a few issues with it. Our aircraft was over four hours late leaving Manchester, apparently due to technical issues though available crew may also have been a factor. We then had an aircraft change but our newly-assigned aircraft was still making its way back from Finland. Apart from being very tired and getting home at five in the morning, the delay thankfully had no other impacts and we ended up being eligible to claim compensation for the delay!
