Cruise Stop in Milos, Greece | Walking the Beautiful Port
Yeah, I don’t think I want his job either. All right, getting a late start today. However, this Milos, our last port day. It was definitely It was a rough night last night. Anyh who, uh I’m on the water shuttle getting ready to head over to Milos. The last day of fun here in Greece. Um come on back. See what I get into. Stay strong and embrace the journey with a warm strong adventure. Come sail it with me. [Music] All right, Milos. I made it to land. I am here enjoying this uh last damn port. Woohoo. uh this this uh water taxi ride, this tender, this ferry, whatever you want to call it, this was the best one yet. The last two that we had, they were a little rough with the first one being the worst uh worst one. It’s about 1:00. You see how long the line is for the ferry or the the water tender? Not too bad. I’m going to come back in a couple hours. [Music] One thing you don’t have to worry about is trying to find something to eat on this island. Every we stopped at tons of restaurants. I told you today I was looking for some bak Well, if you watched the last vlog, I told you I was looking for some baklava and a Greek coffee. You know what? This like looks like it might be a good spot. Let’s try here. What is this? Let’s meet. All right, that was a no-go on that one. Uh, let’s meet. Guess what? They sold just meat. So, yeah. No, not what I wanted. Now, every other port I’ve been at, the bakeries have been easy to find. uh with the coffee with the the baklava if I’m saying it right cuz it didn’t sound like what he said uh near it but not exactly. I’m still on the lookout for it. So what I might have found it sounds like it might be for me in all these ports they have all these cats around here. He’s knocked out. He’s had a rough He’s had a rough morning. I found it. I found it. That with a uh Greek coffee sounds like a winner. Nice little menu. Probably before I get on back on the ship, I’ll grab uh something to eat. Maybe I’ll go back to the meat specialist down there. Who knows? Huh. This was the first time I ordered my Greek coffee. And this is the first time somebody asked me if I wanted a a single or a double. A double, huh? Yes, please. We We’ll see how this works out. Uh the amount of caffeine and anyway, uh yeah, we’re going to try the double. I can’t wait. It’s going to be a good one. And then I just walk around. Let me try not to make a mess here. That is a lot of Greek coffee. And I already had one cup. So yeah, that’s like the second fill. I might be bouncing up in a little bit. Who knows? That box was good with the coffee. Excellent. I don’t know whether just because I’m in Greece it seems like everything tastes better, but did you see that slice that I had? It It looked like a piece of cake. I’m like, “Excuse me, sir. I didn’t order cake.” Oh, no. That’s what you ordered. It was It was It was huge. So, now I’m going to just uh continue walking around the port area. I don’t think I’m going to do anything. I almost It’s like I need a break from my vacation. a vacation from my vacation. Maybe that’s maybe that’s a good way to put it because we’ve every day it’s been like, you know, six courts in in six days, not counting the first one when we’re in Athens. And um a lot of walking, a lot of steps. That’s the only thing, you know, I tell people that if you’re if you’re coming over here to Greece, start walking early. You know, start preparing yourself early. Uh if you’re older, get a maybe get a walking stick cuz there were a few times a few things that’s like, man, I wish I had a little I had a little walking stick. I know that means, you know, to most people that you’re getting old, but guess what? It’s a secret between me and you. I am old. So, uh but it’s been fun. I haven’t fallen. A couple people on this ship have fallen. No serious injuries, nothing like that. uh at the Acropolis. Uh somebody fell and and they were they were seriously hurt. I don’t think they were part of our group. But yeah, no, that that was the talk of that day up there. So be prepared. There’s a lot of walking, a lot of uneven steps. I think traffic rules are more of a suggestion over here than an actual thing. So just just be prepared. I don’t think I would ever drive over here. I don’t I don’t I don’t think I have have the nerve to do it. So, all right. I’m going to start walking down the port a little bit more, pay my bill, and get out of here. Stick around. Time to continue a little walk around the port area. As always, all these little shops. Uh, it’s fun just to sit down and, you know, grab some ice cream, a coffee, or whatever, drink, baklava. I mean, it’s it’s it’s a lot of fun to sit here and just soak it in. For them, you know, like in the United States, uh everything we do is like rushed. Theirs is just laidback and they just want to enjoy their meal. It’s the eating is an experience for them. It appears to be [Music] shops, shops, and more shops. All these little side streets, back alleyways. We’re going to try this one over here. Let’s see what’s down here. Looks like hotel apartments. Only one way to find out. Let’s go. It doesn’t look like much is back here. It might have been just a little hotel right there. And these might be some apartments down here. Tell me how I got lost. It was like straight shot, turn right, boom, you’re there. Tell me how I got lost going back. You know what I told myself? Said you don’t remember that. No Google Maps for you. You figure it out on your own. So anyway, that’s what I’m doing. Now I’m walking down some old dusty road. I’m seeing water up ahead. Cruise ship water. They seem to go together. What a numskull. Okay, end of the dusty road. Look what I see over there, though. I am heading in the right direction. Oh, here I go again. I saw a little little break uh break in the wall. So, instead of just heading out and heading back to the port. Nope. Go down here. See what’s down here. Huh. Who knew? This actually led me right where I was supposed to be. Make a right right here. Turn left on at the corner and I am back to the port area where where I know and love. Ah, big brain at work here to the waterfront. And just down that way is where I want to be to catch the tender back to the ship. [Music] Okay, riddle me this bad man. Six, seven days here. 8, nine days here in in Greece. Why would you wear all black? You knew better. I’m out here in the bacon sun. All black. I feel like I’m cooking slowly but surely. Ah, again, Big Brian Network. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. We are going forward. [Music] Oh, yes. Take back [Music] heat. Well, they say all good things must come to an end. Last night of the uh cruise in Greece and uh it’s winding down. It’s about 9 9:30 now. Time to go put my luggage out, finish packing, put the luggage out, and get ready for that flight home tomorrow. Uh with that, I am going to say good night and be prepared for the next adventure. Uh, as always, stay strong and embrace the journey. And the next adventure will be quicker than you know. About a week from now, I’ll be uh heading down to San Juan uh down to the Southern Caribbean on Raps of Sea with Royal Caribbean. So for that, good night. All right, Greg. I see you. I see you. This is the saddest sight I know. Last day [Music]
