KUALA LUMPUR IS ON LOCKDOWN! ASEAN SUMMIT | MALAYSIA #kualalumpur #malaysia #asean

Don’t worry guys, I’m still here in Kalumpur, but I am leaving Malaysia very soon. And it is a very beautiful day here in Kalumpur. The temperature has gone down because of the rain. As you can see, it’s quite cloudy. Um, so I love when it’s like this because it’s just really nice to have this kind of cooler weather. It’s always humid and hot here in KL and throughout Malaysia and throughout Southeast Asia really. But Colport is not too hot and I have acclimated to the climate here. I’m from Scotland which is in a you know cold North Atlantic climate but I do love this warm tropical climate. I love the beautiful foliage, the lush green that you can see all around Koala Lumpur. It is absolutely amazing. And this is one of my favorite places here in Koala Lumpur, KLCC Park. This is where I am right now. And Malaysia has a big weekend coming up because it is the Asen Summit. all the world leaders including the one and only King Donald Trump. He is coming to KL this weekend. And do you know what that means? The place is on massive lockdown. Right? The roads here in KLCC are all going to be closed. You’ve got cops everywhere. See behind me there, you’ve got the cops. They’re all gearing up for this weekend. It’s going to be really chaotic and it’s going to be very disruptive if you’re going to be traveling around Koala Lumpur. Uh well, this is quite a time-sensitive video because I’m just talking about how bad it’s going to be this weekend when it comes to getting around in a car around the city center area of Qualur. So, you’re not going to want to do that. Um, yes. But other than that, the businesses are open and you can still walk around and have a good time. And I love it. I love it here in Koala Lumpur. Yeah, it’s it’s really amazing. I mean, check out all these new buildings here. Yeah, absolutely amazing. I usually walk through this way actually, but it they’ve got the gates, so I’m I’m not really uh I’m not allowed to go through. That’s the convention center over there. In fact, why not? I’ll just ask the the the police right here. Hello. How are you doing? Yes. Can I not go through to the convention center area? No. Okay. Go from the building. I have to go around, right? Okay. Yeah, I usually walk through to get to Buick Bentang, you know, but that’s all closed. Is it closed? Okay. All right. You must from the building can go through. Oh, I can go around that way. Okay. All right. So, like do you know the aquarium and stuff? It’s all closed. No. Oh, okay. The tunnel is open. It’s open, right? Okay. Fantastic. I have to go around this way though, right? Okay. Find the building. Thank you so much, man. Yeah. Yeah. Just ask the cops there. Uh yeah, you can go down that way and you can go through to Buick Bentang um via this tunnel there that I’ll show you. Uh but check this out, guys. Uh I think they’ve got, you know, cops from all over Malaysia that are going to be coming here to the capital. Massive security presence. I think they’re all like, you know, just preparing and closing the roads and they’re all working out where they’re going to be and the security schedules and all that kind of stuff. More beautiful lush green all around. See, it’s like a jungle over there. This is the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I did a vlog there uh a few months ago when I did the five five-star hotels that you can stay in in Koala Lumpur. There’s more than that, but those are the best ones. Going to show you what I see. We’re going to take a good walk around KLCC today. So, welcome to my channel, Daz Moves. Subscribe to the channel if you’ve not subscribed already. Like this video. Comment what you think about Koala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you’ve been here before, one good thing about all the road closures and all that is that the air quality is going to be better. Color is not the most polluted city in the world, but it’s um it’s definitely going to have a positive effect on the air quality over the weekend. I really like the police cars here in Koala Lumpur. I mean, check this out. Won’t get the weekend in there. Check out this police car. That’s really cool. I think I can walk through here. See, everyone’s um everyone’s walking around. Oh yeah. This is um nothing compared to what it’s going to be like tomorrow though. I think the the ASEAN summit I think actually starts on the 23rd of October. Uh but yeah, the world leaders are not actually going to be here or the lockdown started on the 23rd but the summit will I think yeah 25th I think it’s going to start the actual official start of the Asan summit. Uh I’m not going to go that way if I can go this way. I don’t even know if I can go this way. I go that way. Yeah. Thank you, man. Thanks. Bit crumbled up. There we go. Oh, nice. As easy as that. I have no idea where to go now. Oh, going this way, I guess. I’ll try not to get run over as well. Now, here we are. I can see people. Uh, okay. So, that’s a convention center right here. Yeah, that’s an older version of the police motorbike. I usually see them uh on BMWs, but that was a Honda right there. Oh, nice. This is a This is a Proton. A Malaysian car. Malaysian manufactured car. Yeah. You want to take a picture of me? No. Yes. Okay. I’m going to go down here. Take my hat and glasses off so I don’t look suspicious. Hello. Oh, I’m not allowed then. All right. I’m trying to go to the aquarium. Aquarium. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, down here. Ah, okay. Cool. Cool. Can I just uh Yeah, asen summit. That’s where it’s going to be held. Those are the convention centers in there. Yeah. Thank you, man. Oh, thank you. Sorry. Cheers. Oh, yeah. I’m not actually allowed to record. I do what I want. Now, of course, I respect the rules and the security and all that. I used to be a security guard myself, you know, in Japan. Oh god, what the hell is this? I’m going to have to go through security now. Check this out. Thank you, man. Here we go. I’m going to have to get checked a lot. Hello. All right. Check this out, guys. Getting checked. Might have to turn it off for a bit. Hi, man. There we go. I managed to get through security. And we’re going to continue going to continue down here. I’ve never actually been here before. Some secret underground tunnel. Of course, they’re going to need all of this security here in the capital for the ASEAN summit. Especially when you’ve got Trump in town and after what he’s been through with the attempted assassinations, they don’t want to have that again. Of course, those attempts were in America. They do not permit you to own guns here in Malaysia and quite rightly so. But that’s not to say that there are no guns here. Of course, Malaysia or Color is no stranger to uh shootings and all that kind of stuff. Okay. So, we’re coming up to the um the food court here. Yeah. So, we’re not allowed up there. That’s where the park is. So, uh this is uh one of the food courts that we’re not going to actually eat at because uh I’ve just ate. So, yeah, we’re just going to get out of this uh building which connects to a tunnel that goes to Booket Bentang. It’s about a five or seven minute walk or something. So, lot of security out here. I don’t think Trump comes in until like tomorrow or the day after. Yeah, I love I love Malaysia. Yes. I talk about Malaysia and I compare Malaysia to berries. Yeah. Nasi Lama. Yes. Right. I love Nasi Lama. Do you love Nasi Lama? Yes, I love Nasi Lama. So to So you work for the Asan Summit and um can you let the viewers know what’s it going to be like this weekend? Is it going to be very difficult to move around was totally closed the road and just uh use the tunnel like a monor like that just use um uh MRT. Okay. Uh traffic was closed. Okay. And so the MRT 26 until 28. Okay. Uh and the the MRT and the train lines the monail are working as normal. Yes. As normal. Oh, okay. Okay. So the school and uh work just p uh on online only. What about restaurants and cafes and shopping malls? Are they open? Buket Binta was totally closed at Bukint only because uh the Asan is use this road, right? So, another place is open. All right. Awesome. Thank you so much for giving us that info. The nice woman there just confirmed what you can expect KL to be like this weekend with the road closures and yeah, the cafes and the malls are all shut down as well at the weekend. I didn’t realize that. Um but yes uh serious stuff and walking through that tunnel we have now come to Buket Bintang and uh it’s been raining a lot recently but didn’t get much rain today. It is currently 22 minutes past 3 in the afternoon of course. I may spin it around for you. This is what you call the connection. It’s just full of restaurants and cafes and uh and uh it’s a cool place. It can be very busy here as well. I like it. This is the one of the first places I came to when I came to KL a few years ago. And um yeah, this place just blew me away. How are you? always busy that cafe. Great coffee, but it is a bit on the pricey side. Uh you will find bars here as well. You can drink alcohol of course here in Malaysia, but it’s uh they have a high tax on it, so it’s not the cheapest thing you can drink. And this is pretty much the heart of it, guys. This is like the time square of Paul Lumpur right here. This is where it all happens. It’s nice. Still got the Diwali decorations up here. Star Hill. You can see the people up at the cafe there. You definitely want to avoid taking a taxi anywhere in this area because this is probably the busiest road in Koala Lumpur. It’s going to take you ages to, you know, wait for your taxi here and um but it was really nice today. It’s really cool. It’s not hot at all. Nice cool breeze. um overcast, so the sunshine is not really heating the place up, but it’s really nice. It is absolute tourist vill around here. Spin the camera around. not my favorite area to be honest. I mean, book bentang is definitely uh a place that I like to stay away from, but I I do need to go to Plaza Loyat, which is the tech emporium. I want to see if they’ve got a particular thing that I need for my trip. So, join me on that journey. I have no idea why, but people love to take pictures of this uh crosswalk here. I mean, you know, you’ll see what I mean. It’s always girls from China for some reason. It’s one of those places, those picturesque places of KL. Got the Montreal track here. You’ve got the um Yeah, you’ve got the uh Hello. Got the McDonald’s in the background that looks a bit all shacked up like it’s here is uh posing for the camera. Wow, check this out. Let’s see the picture. Looks really good. Yeah. Wow. Amazing. Really good. Where are you from? China. China. Which part of China are you from? I don’t speak English. You’re from Shanghai? No. Yeah. Yeah. We’re going to take a picture together. Yeah. Okay. Let’s take it. Yeah. Okay. Nice. What’s your name? Ciao. Yeah. Ciao. Nice to meet you. My name is Daz. Daz. Oh, okay. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Are you here for holiday? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, your sister. Sister. Oh, no. No. No. No. Uh, friends. Oh, friends. Oh, okay. Wow. Cool. I’m from the UK. You know, UK, you know? Yeah. 3 seconds to cross, guys. There we go. Check it out. Ah, she was all right. Hey. Ah, she was all right. Hey, you get lots of friendly girls here in Malaysia. All of them are not just from Malaysia, of course. You’ve got girls from all over the world here. Yeah, but here in Buket Bentang, it’s definitely not one of my favorite places. And uh Hello. How are you? Are you from Malaysia? Where are you from? Singapore. Singapore. Oh, I’ve been to Singapore. Oh, really? Yeah. It’s a really nice place. Do you like it there? Yeah. Or is it a little bit boring? It’s kind of boring if you’re like staying there. Everyone says Singapore is really nice, but it’s boring. Yes, it is. So, do you want to move here to Koala Lumpur? I would. Yeah, I would consider you actually. Oh, amazing. Well, you can come and live here and you can have fun every day. Yeah. Are you from here? No, I’m not. I’m from the UK. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What’s your name? Uh, Ivy. Ivy. Nice to meet you. My name is Daryl. Hi, Daryl. Yeah, it is crazy out here, guys. Crazy. Got the tour buses there. Check out the Montreal coming. So, Plaza Lua is not too far from here actually. It’s uh in fact, yeah, I always get lost if I go through Sunway. It’s not Sunway, a Sunai something over there. It’s just there’s so many roads here and it’s a bit of a mess. Check this out. There you go. Public bath. If you want to have a bath, that’s where you go for a wash. Oh, here we go. Yeah. So, we come down this road here. All the construction going on and that. That’s what it’s going to be. Wow. And this is it. This is where we’re going. Plaza Loat. The biggest tech emporium in Koala Lumpur or in Malaysia actually could be Southeast Asia. Oh, that aircon so much better. This is Plaza Loya, the largest tech emporium in Malaysia. Check it out. I’ve already did a video about this place. Can uh check out all the tech that you can think of. You can buy it right here in Plaza Loyat. If you’re wanting to buy a laptop or some kind of uh electronic device, uh you can certainly find it here. Check how much stuff is in this store, guys. Everything that you can think of. I’m actually looking for earphones, cabled ones. Check this out. when I was hanging out with Luca last month. We came here and I bought uh a webcam and a proper mic that I use for my podcasts. But yes, you can get anything that you want here. You can find it and you’ll find it for a good price as well. Funny story about the mic that I bought. It was actually the last one. It was the display one and I was like, “Mate, I’ll take it. If you just give me a discount, I’ll take it.” Cuz they had none in stock. So, he gave me a discount, like a a good discount, like a proper like 20 pound discount. So, I got it for quite cheap. I really do need like a new laptop stand because my one is broken. The fan still works, but the stand is broken. So, you can see all these laptop stands here. Well, I did manage to find myself a decent uh pair of earphones with the type-C cable. um 20 ringit. So that’s like less than ยฃ4. And wow, it’s uh brightened up a bit. This is looking good. I’m going to walk through this new area over here. Uh this recently opened. Going to check it out. Got the DJI store right there. And uh what do we have here? [ย __ย ] hell. See that guys? Hey, don’t know what’s down there. Right, we’re going to cross over. And uh yeah, I know exactly what that was as well. That was uh something you don’t really want to undress. Check this out, man. This is nice. I could definitely do a drink. All right, we are back in Booket Bent Tang and uh going to show you what I see right here. Telling you, the weather is great today. It’s warm, but it’s not hot at all. It’s just nice. There you go. You get a fresh orange juice for nine ringit. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Get a pineapple juice for 10 ringot. You know what? I think I’m going to go for that, guys. Hi, my man. Can I please get a pineapple juice? Yeah. Thank you. Honestly, guys, the weather is amazing today. It feels very nice. Oh, that’s amazing. Guys, for about ยฃ2 you can get a fresh juice here in Buket Bentang, which by the way is like the most expensive area in KL. Normally, it’s going to cost you about uh a pound50 or something like that um outside of the city center, but I don’t know where these pineapples are from actually, but it tastes very nice. Right now, we’re walking down the the massage street. You know, they’re offering you massages and all that. And we’re going to head to uh where we going to head to the train station. Yeah, that’s right. Check this out, guys. Look at Benang. Belly of the beast. This road is very quiet. Very quiet. These stores are everywhere. This building is like totally abandoned. Hello. Hello. Friendly people around here. Sketchy people as well. like me. No, it’s all good. Look at this, guys. Look at the contrast. You’ve got this abandoned eyesore of a building right here. And then you’ve just got this lush little little street over here, selling all sorts. This guy’s selling sweet potato and all that. Well, [ย __ย ] hell. Ah, no thanks, man. I’m all good. Oh, you’ve got a fresh haircut, man. That’s nice. Yes. Nice. Come where? Who? Up the stairs. It’s okay, man. I don’t need a haircut right now. Maybe next time. Thank you so much, man. Thanks. You know what? I cut my own hair, guys. Yeah, I started doing that again. I’ve got a bron beard trimmer. I just used that to cut my hair as well. Saves me a couple of quid. You know what I mean? What is going on? Everyone just started crossing. There we go. Get that guy. Yeah, it’s all a bit of a mess with the upcoming Assean Summit. The police are just trying to lock down the place and get through. They’re going to be closing the roads, of course. Um, check this out. Yeah. This area definitely is kind of like a night city. If you’ve ever played Cyberpunk 2077, this is like night city, right? This area. I mean, check this out. Right. You just got all these businesses everywhere. You got the palm trees. You’ve got all the the big screens there advertising. And you know, you do unfortunately see people on the street as well here in this area. Um, yeah, guys. But this is uh this is the belly of the beast right here. And what we’re going to do now is just go down to the station right there. We’re going to get the train and I’m going to go back home. Guys, it’s been a good one. Thanks a lot for watching. Subscribe to the channel. Like this video. Comment your thoughts on what you’ve seen in this vlog today and I’ll see you in the next one.

  1. Are you in KL now? Are you ready to welcome King Donald Trump! ๐Ÿ‘‘
Only fools hate Trump! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Your Malaysian prime minister loves Trump!

  2. Up from plaza low yat , should cross the opposite lane to Jalan Alor (instead of walking back to Bukit Bintang) … another haven , loads of eateries , pub joints , cafes , massage centres … especially night , vibrant and full of life , you'll definitely โค โ•๏ธโ•๏ธ

  3. People don't realise that Malaysia is a gateway state when it comes to maritime trade. That's now under threat by the inevitable construction of the Kra Istmus channel. Trump's visit is a potential lifeline and must be viewed in that light. Whatever the politics, the Malaysian government has always protected the money.

  4. Not exactly lockdown. Few main road closures. Given the herendous traffic in kl, when organising event like this, road closures are a wise choice. Unlike in Singapore, where everything is more organised, they needn't close any roads. It does create unnecessary inconvenience. Despite that, Anwar should have done it in Putrajaya.

  5. as a Malaysian, i appreciate u interviewed the ladies especially the cuties and beautiful ones. hope u enjoy KL City awesome life bro. funny why the china tourist likes to take pictures on that road.

  6. To simply put, Timor-Leste is now the 11th country to join ASEAN.

If you wondering what are the other 10 are, all 11 ASEAN countries are:
    Malaysia
    Indonesia
    Brunei
    Thailand
    Cambodia
    Philippine
    Laos
    Myanmar
    Singapore
    Vietnam
    Timor-Leste
