Life in Gozo (An Inspirational Story)
we’re Chris Charlene and this is our little dog Holly for the past 3 and 1 half years we’ve been traveling around the world in our motor home Tandy last month we returned home for the very first time to surprise our family and friends and apart from spending time with them we’ve absolutely loved exploring our beautiful islands this week we start today’s video back in goo in the capital city rabbat as we were walking by I found these tiles they’re the malti traditional tiles this is just one pattern there are so many patterns that one can choose from and nowadays many Mones prefer to have these Styles as their floor I really love this facade here so this is made from Tiny Mosaic tiles wow not all of the houses have them but quite a few look how old this is right now we’re passing through these narrow roads they’ve built them like this to escape the hot Mediterranean weather cuz they create a lot of Shadow the colors of the doors are all vibrant red blue green yellow some of the houses actually have their own Street like this and it just ends there with the house as you know we travel always in our vanent and we visit so many places but there are only a few places like this in the north of Italy there were loads of other small villages that are really old like 10 normally visited a few other ones as well but down here you can truly tell the Arabic [Music] influence so we’ve just entered the Fortress it’s called chadela and we haven’t been in here such a long time even when we were previously in Gozo we never actually came in here for me it’s been about 10 years I think how about you yeah the same the same this is actually much more older than we were before yes just incredible it’s like you’ve gone back in time so this is a we multi Stone most probably this part here was someone’s house it’s not too bad actually when you look at the apartments they’re selling nowadays in the major cities and even here in MTA this is a normal size [Music] actually from the top here we’ve got a perfect view of half of Goo you can see where the fairy docks in front of us all the way around here up until the end of the island and this gives you a real clear picture of how small goo really is and then over here at the back of the chit there’s still these old ruins where people used to live there’s only one problem though it’s so windy up here and when I came here last we were pretty young so you don’t really appreciate it that much now that we’ve been to so many places and you come back here and see this just makes it so special [Music] so as you’re walking through this place it immediately reminds us of those Game of Thrones sets that we saw in Croatia like in Split you might think I’m biased but I think this is the most beautiful one so far and we’re not being biased are we no no we’re not they kept it as it was and it’s still beautiful I really don’t want to leave this place but we’re hungry so we have to leave so this is a traditional food here in Mota it’s called ptii very healthy I must add not really I’ve got them here with cheese and Charlene’s got them with peas these are the two main types of ptit SE that they make here I think recently they’ve started doing ones with chicken and something else as well and chocolate yeah they’re not the original ones though best part goo yeah yeah outside just covered in oil and then inside here I’ve got this rotta cheese so crispy and this and it’s only 70 cents each I also got our famous soda drink this is my favorite it’s called Kenny it’s made from oranges and aromatic hers and it goes down really well with ptit [Music] woohoo ch [Music] hello doggy this spot that we’ve just arrived at is a really special place here in goo whenever you’re on social media you definitely see a clip or a photo from here basically it’s this cave down here looks like there’s a few people here already and there’s a marvelous view it’s called Tamisha cave and from here we can see ramla Bay and the Beautiful surrounding this cave was used by early humans much like other caves in Malta and goo and as you can see it’s a very famous spot Victorious It’s unbelievable that people actually used to live in that cave and what a great view they had is this place that we’re at now is called nadur it’s a very tiny village and it’s very high up as well in fact we’ve got some amazing views over the fields here in goo so a couple of weeks ago it wasn’t so Serene because there was the spontaneous Carnival a lot of people from molter and even from abroad come over to dress up they go nuts basically and as sh mentioned we’re truly surprised with the amount of people here when we came here about four or five years ago there was I think we’re on our own yeah that’s crazy how many people have we seen here we’ve been here for about an hour I don’t know about 100 people for sure I know in the past we’ve mentioned that we left mola because there wasn’t so much nature and you might be looking around us and everywhere is just green and that’s because we’re here in goo believe me like where we used to live in the south of M it’s a lot more busier a lot more Apartments busy roads cars and stuff like that so this place here this small island goo is really special and I hope they keep it like this because it’s really special so nice right it’s still legs mountains and Forest that’s something that we’re never going to have but at least look at this looks nice no yeah I like it I prefer goo the mon we’re still so impressed with how many people there are and we were just talking now the last time we were here was during the pandemic and that’s why it was so empty we’re comparing it this winter to Winter 2020 21 which is obvious why there’s so many more people in there so on our way through nadur we’ve just stopped at this place it’s called mearan Bakery they make bread they make pizza they make F they make a lot if my memory serves me correctly this is a really good pizza so stopped off here to get one now I have at the moment with potatoes tomatoes onions I have what’s this one with I have the special of the house with the sausage fresh cheese this one that looks good yeah I make it hot for you yes please yeah thank you delivery for you oo thank you smells great I think she said it smells great so we’ve come to this Lookout Point What’s this called canena Tower Cana Tower Cana Tower and this is the piz that we went with oh my God it’s got potatoes what else sausages multi sauses olives cheese oh my God yummy yummy yummy Char’s getting excited it tastes perfect million dollar view so that over there is Camino the small island and there’s mola the main island so although we’ve been staying in goza we’ve been down to mola about two or three times so far well most of our friends and family are in mola but apart from that we much prefer it here which is better guys this mouthwatering pizza all of view and where is Food Holly’s never too far away is she so that pizza was so so good I can now reconfirm that this place mccaran Bakery has the best pizza in goo maybe a motar as well wow look at Chia Church oh my god wow this is amazing Oo we got Splendid views from this spot wow that’s where we live guys just behind the cliffs plastic good thing about schend that the sun always sets right in front of [Music] you we’ve just arrived at this Farm it’s called dreams horses and we’re going to go and meet the H now his name is Victor very nice guy we’ve spoken to him already and he’s going to show us around thank you [Music] hello hi hello come on this one’s got to be the smallest animal in the font as we enjoyed our time with this little one Victor the owner of the farm joined us to explain all about his place and the story behind it [Music] C [Music] for okay [Music] so while Charlene’s busy there Victor is going to go and show us something else it’s a goose Nest hidden here first she when she stopped playing X then she sits on them and 28 30 days one you you are Victor also took us into the stables and explained all the never- ending task that is challenged with every day and he also give us an insight as to how expensive it really is to maintain a place like this and feed all these animals this place is massive so all of the horses they have their own area here this one’s got two in but normally it’s just one and then they can go outside and they’re all connected outside as well something that Victor told us is to always approach them from the side so they can see like this Hey cuz their eyes are on the side to us to never approach a horse straight ahead cuz they can’t see you properly and that little fell there has been following me around the whole time look how tiny he is compared to the [Music] horses now we’ve out tea and coffee and Victor is going to take out the horses for a run around here so we’re going to try and find a spot so we don’t get squashed [Music] [Music] she’s smelling all do our absolutely amazing here because we’re surrounded with these small hills everywhere around us is green when I was younger I used to spend so much time outside in the fields next to my grandma’s house I remember but nowadays all of the children are all inside and they country experience the outdoors and for them to come here and you know experience life with the enemies it’s such an incredible thing we have to tell you one more thing keep up the good work because you’re doing a lot it’s not easy uh somehow I will make it I think people can see your hard work here we we go through lots of ups and downs yes I always manage the somebody’s on top and always make it happen all right all right oh good luck that was such a lovely experience so as you can probably imagine it’s very expensive to run this place if you do want to help out Victor on his mission to give these animals their best life possible we’re going to leave a link in the description to their website and from there you can either give a oneoff donation or even sponsor a horse on a monthly or yearly basis even the smallest donation can help this place and from our time here today we have definitely seen how much Victor loves this place and loves every single animal here so thank you so much for watching if you enjoyed the video hit the like button and yeah we’ll see you in the next one by bye

Gozo is even more beautiful at this time of year; I only visit during the summer months because I get sea sick easily. But I have to make an effort and visit while the fields are so green. Can anyone visit the dream of horses farm? And may I ask where you were exactly when you were enjoying your pizza?
Enjoyed your vlog, as always. It's nice to see places you thought you knew through different eyes. Re flying over the Citadel, take a look at this: https://youtu.be/hIXCZ6dj6XA
