Scams & Bad Behaviour I Encountered in Europe! Beware!

After covering scams in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Dubai, and America. It’s time to cover Europe and I do this so you guys can travel safe too. Now my European tour starts here in Vienna, Austria. But there’s no one on the streets here calling me “my friend.” The only thing cooking here are these sassies. Come. Next. Welcome to Prague, Czech Republic. This place is like being inside a fairy tale It’s magical. And that’s why people flock here. But I heard it has a dark side too. Let’s find out. While exploring the city, I noticed something unusual. Not just 1 or 2 either, but several beggars, all in the same positions, and many with dogs by their side. Interestingly, they even switched shifts at night, so you’ll see new faces in the exact same spots. This isn’t random. It’s most likely part of an organised professional begging operation. These so-called beggars. I’d likely paying a cut of their profits to local gangs for these prime spots, preying on the sympathy of us tourists. It’s not poverty, it’s business. The next thing that struck me about Prague is just how crowded it is. It’s teetering on the edge of overtourism. Coming from New Delhi, India, I thought I’d left the crowds behind. But here I was, surrounded. And the thing is, this isn’t even peak tourist season! And did you notice, with everyone distracted by their cameras, you can see why pickpockets thrive here. So be smart. Leave your valuables at the hotel, and never, ever use your back pockets Now here’s one thing I really didn’t see coming. Encountering some truly unpredictable people on the streets. Like this guy swinging a stick. It’s a reminder to always stay alert and never assume that anywhere in this world is completely safe. Oh, there’s been an accident. Not sure how that happened, though. 23, that’s us. Might’ve got hit by one of these. Guys, always check your bills here for added items, and when you’re asking for prices, just check and see if there’s already a price tag on it, na. What happened with you? So I did not look at the price tag first. I asked him, “What’s the price?” And he told me it’s 400. And she’s talking about this little brooch here. – Yeah. And, then I picked it up, and I… When I saw the price tag, it said 180. So I asked him again, “What’s the price did you say?” and he said it’s 180. This next guy was spending an unusual amount of time cleaning right in front of tourists, almost to the point of interrupting them. Here. He’s cleaning up the ash from this couple’s cigarette, which probably made them feel a little embarrassed. I watched him for a while, and interestingly, he never asked for money or anything, so maybe he’s just a good Samaritan? Or, is there more of this? If you know what’s going on, let me know in the comments. And for reference, Prague has city cleaners and they look like this. I’m going to save you money now. These scammy candy shops are everywhere. Hello.
– Hi. How are you? I’m fine. And while they might look tempting. Steer clear. They charge an outrageous $4 per 100g, or $40 per kilo. The exact same candy is available at the supermarket for half the price. So don’t fall for this sweet trap. Straight from the United States, we’ve got Mickey and Minnie Mouse, except not quite the magical kind you’re thinking of. I’ve seen this street hustle a lot, and trust me, it is not as innocent as it looks. In Times Square I even caught these guys holding a kid’s phone hostage, pressuring her mum to pay up. Check out that video next. Oh, my God! Bad man. Yeah, I will. I will, Bro! If you really want a photo of them, make sure you ask the price upfront. Otherwise, no matter what you give, they’ll always demand more. The following morning, we set out for our next drama filled destination. I was hoping to catch a scam or two at the train station, and, they did come. But what we got first was far worse: a bomb scare. It’s a bit like a ghost town in here but it’s all over. All the security tape have been removed. Camera man never dies! That’s why nothing happened. And as soon as we arrived here, a scammer came up to me and I caught it all on camera. But before that, man, there’s so many
people here in Europe. There’s so many tourists. We wanted to go to a spa today. And the two we wanted
to go to are sold out Here in Europe, you gotta book everything in advance. And so far we’ve been to Vienna, we’ve been to Prague. Now we’re here in Budapest and there’s just queues, tour groups, and people absolutely everywhere. And I’ve seen in the media. A lot of European locals complaining that there’s over-tourism here in Europe. And, yeah, it looks like it to me. We’re going to Italy next, which is apparently the worst place for overtourism and the worst place for scams as well. Anyway, let me show you what I found here in Budapest. So this guy here is hassling tourists, and he’s trying to sell his own cards that he has in his pocket there. See? Do not trust these
types of people here. And, yeah, This is where you get
your tickets from here. And, yeah, he’s staring
at me like that, but he’s… But he’s hassling tourists
and trying to sell probably fake cards to
tourists actually. People often talk about beggars in India. But there’s also no shortage of beggars here in Europe. Whether you’re at the train station, whether you’re out on the street, like there’s a whole homeless encampment just behind me here. Wherever you are, someone’s going to be asking for money or oftentimes it’s a cigarette. A lot of people smoke in Europe, which I didn’t expect. I didn’t realise so many people smoke here in Europe. I’m here in Europe with my wife and my parents. You guys, you got to check the prices before you order any food at any restaurant here, because a lot of the restaurants are inflating the prices, especially of beer. You go to check the price of the beer because you get it to your… You ‘ll get to the end
and you be like, “What? It cost that much? Just for a beer!” So some restaurants trick people like that. That’s what happened
to my dad last night. But on the positive side, a lot of things are cheaper here in Europe, especially if you’re from India. What it’s going on here? Police all over the place. Oh, this is the amblu… This is the Ambo. Oh, ****. Been a… There’s a food street in here. I don’t know, looks like he’s… Shall we…
– Looks like he’s been in a fight or something. It’s a fight, right? People drink too much and… Is this a little food street down here? Yeah. Yeah. Should we go there for dinner? Yeah. Is he okay? What happened? Yeah. Looks like. Can we go down here? Yeah, let’s have a look down here. It looks good. Come. Someone knocked him out. Oh, hell. Do we really want to go down here? Too many people, aye? Yeah, it’s horrible. Let’s go somewhere else. Too many people, come. So that poor fella, he got beat up by two people! A lot of the violence probably has to do with the amount of, beer being drunk here. There’s a lot of people drinking. And you know what happens when people drink. This guy just, picked up a phone next to him. Someone had, left their phone on the subway, and the person is calling him, and he’s going to he’s going to get it back to
the the owner now. I have, I just show you… We have a goulash. Yeah.
– And a place with beef noodles. We have a daily menu. The daily menu is steak with chips. Okay, but it’s a bit expensive, man. Like 10,000 for steak. Yeah. It’s okay. I’m gonna keep looking. Yes. Okay. I have 25 different stuff. Thank you. Bro, I found this in a lot of other places too, India and Nepal. If the restaurant has someone on the door trying to bring you in… Don’t go to those restaurants! They’re try and extra hard to bring you in because the prices are extra expensive. Only go to restaurants which don’t have doorman trying to bring you in, and salesman. They’re salesman, that’s it. What do you need a
salesman at a restaurant for? I better show one cool
thing on the streets here. And, yeah, it’s free water. There’s just water everywhere that you can take for free and fill up the drink bottle with. How cool is that? And, tastes really good, too. It’s really good tasting water, but you’ll find these water fountains everywhere. All over. I’m a volunteer from Food For Life Project. It is an international charity. We provide food for the needy, homeless, poor people. We cook very healthy food and distribute. Support us please. Any currency: euro, dollars, by card also. Oh you guys are ISKON? ISKON, I live at the local temple, yeah. Sorry? No, no, I don’t speak Hindi, but I love Sanskrit so much. And I learned some, Sanskrit. The verses from the Bhagavad Gita Oh, that’s nice. Just any donation support our mission because… We give people spiritual education, pure values. Yeah, I understand, we know about ISKON,
we live in India. You live in India? Yes. Yeah, yeah. So I can see you’re from ISKON. And where in India?
– Delhi. Have you been? Of course. Yeah, once I visited Mayapur and Vrindavan.
– Ow, wow! And of course, first we arrived at Delhi airport. Yeah, I know.
– That’s nice. You like it? Do you like it? Yeah. Yeah. So you guys went to Vrindavan to go to the Lord Krishna Temple? Yes, yes.
– All these things. And Shri Jagannath Puri Temple. I have never been to Jagannath Puri, but I would like… Big temple. Jagannath, you know?
– Yeah. And the ocean. You know this? Yeah.
– Just anything. I don’t have any money though. Maybe by card? You have a card machine?
Oh, my God. So this is really? You’re really from ISKON?
– Yes. Not lying, na? Yes, yes. Because there’s so many people on the streets here scamming, man. Then I’m an initiatived devotee. Yes. I’ve been practising Krishna
Consciousness for ten years now. Okay. Any donation? Hang on, hang on. You got any cash? I won’t use my card though. If I had some cash, I would give it to you. But I won’t use my card because I don’t trust enough people. Sorry. Because I like ISKON, so. But please visit our temple if you are here. Every Sunday we have program, but you can come any day. And we have very beautiful deities. Also Govinda restaurant,
vegetarian food. Oh, you have a restaurant? Okay, I’ll come, I’ll come. I’ll donate money there, okay? Okay, thank you so much.
– Bye. This devotee of Lord Krishna is the real deal. And the charity work is genuine. It’s something that I’d love to support, but I’d never swipe my card on the street with a stranger like this. It’s just too risky. Because this is exactly how card cloning happens. I’m going to complain about one more thing here in Europe too. So the hotels. We’re staying in decent hotels, like 3 or 4 star hotels and they just don’t give a crap. The first one, the Wi-Fi was barely working in a room. We told them I left a negative review on Google Maps. They didn’t fix nothing, then didn’t changed nothing. They didn’t move us to another room with better Wi-Fi. They wouldn’t. And my dad, he’s staying at a even. He’s staying at a really nice hotel. And he pulled off… She was changing the sheets or something, and he found that, the mattress was covered and these disgusting looking stains. And so he went and told the hotel, and they didn’t do anything. They wouldn’t change the mattress, just. Yeah, the hospitality is horrible. Hotels just don’t care, won’t fix anything. Maybe that’s because there’s so many tourists. They don’t need to. You won’t believe what happened to my parents when they went to check out from that hotel, too. It’s absolutely insane. You’ve got to watch my video titled ‘Who Pooped in the Shower?’ to find out. It’s a story you won’t forget and we never will. Welcome to Munich, Germany. I’m so happy to be here. This has been the first time we’ve been able to see and experience like real, traditional European culture. With arriving on a Saturday night here. All the German locals had dressed up in the traditional clothing. They were singing songs. They were dancing. And yeah, we got to experience all of that at a beer garden. It was just so awesome experience. And, no scams here. It’s just a really beautiful and chill place, Munich. Nothing going on. Ah, I spoke too soon. I have no idea what this lady is yelling about, but why does the whole tram need to hear it? Let’s get on to. I think the scam capital of Europe, Italy.

Join me as I uncover the darker side of travelling in Europe, revealing the scams and bad behaviour I encountered along the way. From organised begging rings to the chaos of overtourism, this journey was filled with wild and unexpected moments.

Throughout the trip, I encountered shopping scams designed to deceive unsuspecting visitors, fake train ticket sellers targeting travellers, and expensive tourist restaurants. I also experienced poor hospitality in hotels, witnessed the results of violence on the streets, and encountered some truly bizarre behaviour.

This video’s purpose is to keep you safe while travelling by sharing my experiences and highlighting the dangers to watch out for. So make sure you watch this video before travelling to Europe.

In this video, I cover all the tourist scams I found while travelling in Vienna (Austria), Prague (Czech Republic), Budapest (Hungary), and Munich (Germany).

  1. I’m sorry but how annoying is it to travel, spend all that money on a vacation & then have to spend damn near almost every waking moment making sure you don’t get scammed or ridiculously overcharged for a trinket.

  2. Basically if I am walking down the sidewalk and someone walks up yo me and starts talking I think…..”Why are you talking to me?”

  3. To be honest, customer service in Hungary is known to be really bad. I don't know why but it is. Some Hungarians get really upset when you say this but it is the truth. I lived in Hungary for three years. I once bought a pair of glasses from an opticians in the town near where I lived and the reading glasses were totally the wrong prescription. Shop staff can be quite surly and rude. It's often like you owe them a favour for being in their presence.

  4. I bet in I'm not the only one to say it but in general in Europe stay away from the restaurants in the main streets with lots of outdoor seating down the middle – they'll be mediocre and expensive at best (the rents). Also, the one's with pictures of the food. Proper restaurants will display at the very least a sample menu with prices outside so that you can see what is on offer before you go in. Alcohol will be expensive, maybe even eyewateringly so, as it is where in Europe they make their money, given that there is a minimunum wage. Service charge is often included on your bill, so you don't tip unless the service is very good. The custom varies from country to country a little; in Spain it is customary to leave a little loose change – but much less than 10% even if you've only had a coffee… In Nordic countries you don't tip. I always ask at reception/ check in where I'm staying when I look for recommendations as to where to eat… Also, many countries do much nicer 'exotic' food than local… there are great Indian restaurants all over England, Amsterdam is famous for Thai, you'll get good Moroccan/ Middle Eastern in some parts of Southern Spain… and Croatia is famous for its Italian. Also check eating times… if you rock up in some places at 5 in Northern Europe they'll be closing up for the day, and in Spain they won't have opened yet for dinner.

  5. You do make me angry because you keep comparing "Europe" with "India" … Europe is a wholw CONTINENT and India is a COUNTRY !!! You cannot compare a continent with a country … that's ridiculous and ignorant. Please educate yourself 😡

  6. People go where other people go. Prague for no absolute reason has become a tourist destination because people want to say they have been to Prague as well and fill their Social Media profiles with pictures of there. The more people are attracted to a tourist spot the more scammers and baggers would follow them.

  7. Sounds like a really nice and relaxing vacation being constantly propositioned and shook down by scammers, beggars, and all variety of people trying to separate you from your hard earned money for no value.
