PROVED WRONG: Alone in Alcudia, Mallorca
Okay, so we are in the first week of November. I’m still in my shorts. I’m in a t-shirt. Got highs today of 20° C. And I’m over here on Alcudia Beach. Now, I have just filmed a video taking a look at the Alcudia Beach Resort closing down for winter. If you haven’t seen that video, I’ll drop a link to it in the description text below. But in the meantime, I’m going to walk up through the back end of Alcudia Beach Resort. We’re going to see if there’s anything going on today or whether this is going to be a sad and lonely walk back to my car. Let’s see if anything else is open. You’ll see the very surprising news in my previous video as to what’s open down here in November. But let’s turn the camera around and let’s head on back round the back of Alcudia Beach Resort and see what it’s like today. But we are not going to leave this lovely area without first taking a very quick look down the beach and over towards Alcudia Port. Now in my previous video, like I said, you will have seen how this resort is gradually packing up for winter. It’s looking a little bit more lively in the direction of Alcudia Port. We will hopefully see some life over here over the winter months and I will be back in Alcudia Port. So, make sure you do subscribe to the channel if you haven’t done so already to get more information from this area, let’s go and quickly get some nice views. So, with the Sunwing Hotel now closed for the season, of course, boat trips are closed for the season, too. But it’s not looking so sad and lonely over here on the jetty. Take a look. Now, with the lovely temperatures that we do have today, look, we’ve got some families over here sitting on the jetty. We’ve got some some kids fishing, too. And just look at the views here. Look how absolutely stunning it is. It’s absolutely glorious today. Now I’m standing in the area where we used to see the the water sports center. There is still a catamaran on the beach waiting to be taken away. We can see the the vans coming down as well to collect some of the beach furniture. Check out my previous video to see how that was going. But look how clean and clear the water is over here on Alcudia Beach today. And just looking a little bit further up the beach here, I can see the first three beach bars. Look, they are closed. But like I said, go and check out my last video to see something rather surprising over here. Anyway, let’s head off off the jetty now. Let’s head up through the resort. [Music] [Music] So, let’s head off the beach and into the resorts. Let’s go and see what it looks like. Now, I’m wondering where the people that we’re seeing down here today where they are staying with their residents or their holiday makers. We may well find places open in Arcusia today, but um somehow I doubt it. Let’s go and take a look though. [Music] So, we are a couple of blocks away from the main roads here. And this area is filled with apartment blocks, some of them legal, some of them illegal. Make sure if you are booking an apartment or an Airbnb that it does have a license. It’s a gorgeous leafy area though, but it is very, very quiet and looks like I’m the only person around here for the time being. And obviously on this little corner here, I’m outside the Doss Pins restaurant. Everything is closed. And I’m just coming up out onto the main road here, which brings us to the main bus stops right in front of the the BQ Deline Azil Hotel. If you’re looking for next year, I did stay there a few summers ago. Very nice hotel. What are we going to see today on our walk back to back to Alcudia Strip? Are we going to see any hotel developments taking place? Are we going to see anything open actually or are we just going to see it’s almost like a leftover from Halloween. Are we going to see a ghost town? Let’s have a look. So, of course, the the BQ Deline Azul Hotel closed down as rapidly as the other big hotels in this area. This is another example of a huge hotel out here which cannot afford to stay open if if the airlines are not bringing flight passengers to the island in November. And what a shame. And we can see staff are celebrating what has been the end to a very busy summer. So, let’s take a right up here in the direction of the group hotel and take a look around the back of the resort. Now, a lot of clear works need to be done down here and it will be done over the winter. I can hear they’re having a party in there. How lovely. Celebrating celebrating summer over here in the BQ Delphine Azul and rightly so as well. The staff have worked very very hard to give everyone a wonderful holiday. And I remember how lovely and friendly that hotel was too. But I’m hoping that we do see some restaurants being able to stay open over the winter months. And I’m looking at the now Palro’s restaurant. I suspect this may well open over the weekends here in Alcudia Beach Resort. It’s not open today. I suspect that this may have a a local offering in the winter months. Who knows? And look, the drilling has begun. That sound of drilling, which I’m going to hear constantly now throughout the winter here on the island, has already started. And this drilling is coming from the enormous group hotel, Port Talusia Hotel. Look at this area though, right in front of this lake. Hope that’s not responsible for the mosquitoes this summer. And so I just walk around the lake here. Look, you can see which of the big hotels we have here, too. But we’re not going to hang around in this area. Like I said, I’ve got my legs out, so um I don’t want to get bitten by any mosquitoes. Hopefully, they won’t be out at the moment, though. I give it another hour or so before they start making an appearance. The sun is very warm at the moment, so hopefully I won’t get bitten, but um let’s keep heading along because we are coming up alongside I think this is a JS Aludia hotel. I really hope they do something with this little canal way here. I don’t know what they can do. is very very green and uh the water does not flow freely through here. But I will get in touch with Alcudia. And have I just been bitten? Have I just been bitten? I’ll find out tomorrow, I guess. Thought I felt a little nip there. But um I will contact Alcudia Town Hall and I’ll find out what they’re doing about this whole area and if any controls be put in place for mosquitoes for next year. But you cannot deny that this is not a lovely area. And uh I can’t believe I’m saying I’m I’m the only person here either. It’s incredible. From one week to the next here, we have holiday makers enjoying their halfterm and then suddenly that’s it. The mass exodus from the island takes place and I’m left here walking around the resorts alone. Please everyone get out your mini violins. I can’t really complain though because Morca is beautiful whatever time of the year. It’s just a shame that we don’t we don’t see tourism a little bit more spread out throughout the months down here. But if you go back and watch my my island update from this week and I will link it below, you can find out why hotels cannot stay open or cannot afford to stay open. So, I’m now wondering whether I can actually get out from here. Straight ahead. It looks like the road works in the resort have started. So, one thing’s for sure. If anyone’s going to be in the resort this winter, it is going to be the the builders. It’s going to be the road workers and me and a few people trying to keep their businesses open, too. But, we’ll find out where these are. Some of you, like I mentioned in my Monday video, may well be able to get a flight out to my York over the winter. And I’ll tell you what, even on a day like this, even though it’s only 20°, it is very, very warm in the sunshine. Now, I have no idea what they’re doing down here. Let’s have a quick look left. Any building experts, let me know. The builders have down to tools for the moment. I think it’s lunchtime. But I don’t think they’re going to be f finding anywhere in this immediate vicinity open today. So you can see to my right hand side we’ve got the lagoon center right at the end. We’ve got the Viva Sunrise to my right hand side. Don’t forget the Viva Golf Hotel is on the beach. Got a couple of Viva hotels here. And we’ve got the Atoria Player Hotel to my left hand side, too. So, we are running parallel now to Alcudia Strip and I’m coming up around the back of the the Medelia Insides Hotel. Obviously closed for the season. this couldn’t possibly stay open. And by the looks of some of these hotels as well, I think they closed well ahead of the 31st of October. There’s no way you can close down these massive properties so quickly. Gosh, it is so echoey here as well. It really is so empty. Can’t believe it. I just can’t believe it. Do you know what? little supermarket and I’m just zooming in here is open. Everything you seek in one place apart from anyone here on holiday by the looks of it. So even though the door is open to the supermarket, it is actually closed. I can see it’s all there. I can see inside. Look, everything is closed up. The shelves have been covered. and heading on around to the Soul Deluia Hotel. It’s an A10 hotel. And like I said, we are parallel to Alcudia Strip. Oh, it’s so quiet. It’s so quiet. Look. When were you last here? Let me know if anyone was here in October. And also when it shut. I can see some groundsmen here in the Viva Sunrise. I can imagine they’ve got quite a lot of clearing up to do from the summer season. All the rooms to prepare for winter, too. And out to this canal area right in front of the the Belleview complex. So I’m just standing on the corner of Joker’s here and you’re going to know running right the way around. We’ve got the hub of nightife over here in Alcudia Strip and well it’s not much of a hub over here at the moment today. Obviously this these few days into November on this glorious sunny day. If you want to see what Alcudia night life was like this year in 2025, I’ll drop a link in the description text below. I did only come out to film the one time though this summer. I do have videos from previous summers as well. It’ll give you a good idea of what to expect. Do you know what? I think I’ve been bitten on my arm as well. [Music] So, we do have people trekking through Alcuda Strip today. [Music] I’m not sure where they they are staying or where they are going, but they are here. [Music] Just coming up past what was Julio’s creps. I’m sure he’ll be back next year, but I hope he’s enjoying his holiday. [Music] And coming up to the bus stop here. Look, that just about says it all. Look, stop suspended. Not expecting anybody around these parts now. Not for the next few months. I can just see some people have made a beline into Colbear Supermarket. But as we come up through a very empty Alcudia strip, I’m just going to drop into the Tentle T- Rooms. Because while this video started off as a lonely walk through Alcudia Strip, I’ve come into the Tentle T-rooms, which is staying open throughout the winter. They are going to have a couple of days during the week when they are going to be closed. But I have to highlight one of the wonderful things that they are doing over here in Alcudia Beach Resort. Now, every Tuesday morning, and it was the first morning today, between 10 and 12:00, they’re doing a meet and greet. And that’s for anybody in the area to come along, meet their neighbors, any residents, any any holiday makers, any homeowners coming over as well. Anyone maybe feeling a bit lonely over the winter can come into the tent rooms on a Tuesday morning between 10 and 12. And I think that is really, really lovely. And do you know what? I passed by earlier on in my in my video and I was walking past between between 10 and 12:00 and the place was busy. It did go down really well. I’ve just spoken to the owner who doesn’t want to be on the video, but I will be back and I will probably come in here hopefully over the winter months as well. We’ll try the cakes. I don’t have time today. But in the meantime, thank you very much for watching my very lonely walk through our cudia strip which has ended on a high note over here in the tentel tea rooms. Okay, everyone. If you’d like to see the first video that I filmed from over here, check out this link appearing here on YouTube. Don’t forget you can find me in the Facebook group and on my Instagram, also called Morca Under the Sun. And I look forward to seeing you on the next video. Goodbye for now. [Music]
After filming on Alcudia beach in November, join me for a tour through the back streets of Alcudia beach resort and find out if this is the sad and lonely walk I was expecting. Or if I can find some positivity here. Watch to the end for an amazing initiative being run by a local cafe!

Wow looks gorgeous, its cold dark and heavy rain here in the uk. Wish I was in mallorca right now. Thanks alex for all you do for us
Lovely video Alex. Looks like a ghost town. The canals look beautiful but I fear the mosquito puts me off. You are not alone. You have thousands of viewer who enjoy your walks. Best wishes, John
Love it, but it looks like a ghost town. So sad
Still looks nice there, always giving us nuggets of info👍 Thanks for the walk.
Doing road works after the holiday seasons over, what are they thinking. Here in the UK, they wait till the holiday seasons start, then they start the roadworks, presumably to cause maximum disruption! 🙂
There is a film called The Omega Man. This video reminds me of it; he appears to be the last man on earth, Charlton Heston, worth a look.
Absolutely love mayorca, come here every year. Was in calor millor this September, last year was in sol palmanova & year before that was in this resort at the iberostar ciudad blanca . Too many to name, but alcudia beach is gorgeous ❤
Nobody around but who owns all those cars Alex?
I was around all of these streets on the 19 th of October and the hotels were buzzing. What a difference. The work on the street you passed was a new sewage pipe. Excellent video as always Alex. Love having a look around the resorts. And the tentol tea room does amazing coffee and cakes
A bit quieter than when I was there in September! Beach looks stunning, really enjoyed watching & can't wait to return 🤞
The Balearics Islands are always more attractive out of season unspoilt by over tourism Alex 🎻
Looks so lovely 🤩 I like seeing it quieter.
Hi Alex, we where at the sol del aparthotel i september
It looks so empty now, we really miss Alcudia 😢 💔
Sorry if this is a duplicate post. Do you use the mosquito alert app? If we can ever get back to Mallorca (from San Diego), the off-season appeals most to me. Have a great week.
The planes are literally bringing in cash and passengers.
Blimey it looks busy there not !
Did you say your outside "The doss bins " or the "dustbins" 😄😄
That's how busy it will be if they keep in upsetting British tourists .
Good old Myorca
Cracking video perfect day
