We Spent €50 at Three GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKETS | Berlin Nuremberg Munich

[Music] In the next couple of weeks, we are going to
be spending our time at three different German   Christmas markets, and we’re going to show you
just how far €50 or about the same $50 gets you at each of the markets all over Germany. We are
starting our adventure off in Berlin. There is so much to see and not a lot of time to do
it. So, let’s get started. So, we’ve made a   couple quick laps around and I think that we’ve
decided in one of these soups in a bread bowl. The sign says that it’s only €9. And I think
that the bread bowl comes included in it. So,   let’s start there. So, he had three options
up there. A pumpkin carrot, a cheese soup, and a goulash. Everyone that ordered before us
got the cheese soup, so that’s what we decided   to get. It looks amazing. It’s like a creamy
soup. It’s thinner than I was expecting because it’s cheese. And how cute is this little lid?
I can’t believe this is only €9 with the bread bowl and it’s so cold out. So, the outside of this
is cold, but when you take this off, the soup is   still so steamy. They also topped it with bacon,
croutons, and onions. It looks freaking amazing. It’s thinner than I was expecting. Ooh, you
can taste that sourdough bread flavor in there,   too. There’s carrots. There’s some onions.
It looks like it tastes like a creamy potato. I want to try some of that crusty bread inside. He
was actually hauling out each bowl individually. The bread is like a nice soft texture and it
soaps up that soup. So, so good. Environmentally friendly and edible. Warm, cozy, comforting,
the perfect start to our Christmas market. So, we just finished our bread bowl, but
there is something called handb bread that   we’ve never tried before. And there’s a huge
line of people eating it. And it looks like there’s some sort of cheese scenario. And he’s
putting dollops of sour cream on everything. We   have to get one because everyone seems to be
loving them. This thing is piping hot. It is stuffed with cheese. There was two options,
ham or mushroom. We decided to go with that   smoked ham. And he has like a nice dollop of
sour cream. And he’s added some chives to it. The bread is super crusty, but it’s also really,
really soft. That bread is almost like a pizza dough. You can tell that it’s hand rolled. And
they have a huge oven next to them that they’re   making this thing in. The cheese is smoky like
a Gouda. And I don’t know if that’s from the ham or if that’s the type of cheese that it is.
The sour cream is sour and the chives add like just a bright bite to it. This is a phenomenal
Christmas treat. This puppy was €7 and it is a hefty snack. It’s a situation that I’ve never
had before. M. It’s so warm. It’s so smoky. So, the thing I think this reminds me the most is like
a cowzone of like a little sour cream on it. It is an awesome Christmas snack. No wonder they’re so
popular. Uh, let’s go see what else we can find. So, if you guys are enjoying this video,
don’t forget to check out our Christmas   market playlist. We have a whole playlist of
all the Christmas markets we’ve visited all over Europe. And you’re not going to want to
miss a single one of them. You can’t come to   a German Christmas market without getting some
blue vine. So that’s our next stop. We are going to get something new that we’ve never tried
before, which is grog. And I think it’s made   with rum. It looks like a punch and it’s yellow.
But a lot of people have it at this market. So Brandon’s going to try that. And I’m going to get
a red glue vine. Okay. So I asked the gentleman   what the grog was and he said it’s just rum
and hot water. I thought I read online that it was like butterscotch or something with
like cider and rum, but I don’t know exactly what I got. I am gonna give it a try though.
Oh, it’s so hot. You breathe in like fumes. Burn your tongue. Yo, that is not
my jam, dude. What is it? It is legit. There’s no sugar or anything. It is
legitimately just rum and hot water. Like, he was not kidding. What an interesting thing. I
don’t really know why you would want this, but €5, it’ll get the job done. Am I right, brother? So,
there’s two choices when it comes to glue vine.   There’s red and white. I decided to get the
red one. Oh, it’s delicious. Oh, this is so good. You should have got glue vine. Nice and
bitter. It tastes like Christmas. It’s like a   hot sangria. Usually, they put like a fruit in it.
This stall is really busy right now, so they may have just skipped out on the fruit. But for five
bucks, this is great. And this cup is so cute. Wait, you got to try mine after that. [Music] It’s
terrible, right? There’s like no It’s literally just rum, which is like my least favorite
alcohol. Also, it’ll it’ll do the trick. I do want to try that glue bine, though. This
window right here, that’s what I thought Brandon   was getting. You see the creaminess of it? I got
it. He was great. That guy was so nice. I said, “Is that have alcohol?” And he said, “Yeah.” And
then he said, “You either love it or you hate   it.” And he gave me a little taste before I had to
buy it. I wasn’t going to get another glue vine, so I said I loved it. Wait, what’s it called? It’s
eggnog punch. Eggnog punch. Hot eggnog. And then he asked if I want whipped cream on it. This was
€7. And then I paid another five for the deposit.   So we have now $15 coming back to us. But it was
great. It was so nice of him to give me a taste of it. I can’t wait for you to try. I taste it
already. So I’m going to give it to Brandon so   he can try it. That was what I thought we were
getting. Eggnog punch. Eggnog punch. Oh man, I am striking out left and right. You tried this
and you still bought this? Yeah. The whipped cream helps a lot. It’s so sour. If it’s like eggnog
punch, there’s definitely something acidic in there. It does taste like eggs and it’s creamy
but not super thick like a traditional eggnog would be. The thing that’s taking me off is like
that. It’s so sour. This is better than that   rum water you got. Better than the rum water.
Your pirate water. I will give you that. Man, this is something to try. We’re living the dream
here at the Berlin Christmas Market. This does not count towards our dollar cuz this was a surprise
purchase. €10 for both of these. I I’m going to need to find a snack to wash these drinks down
with, though, for sure. We’ve seen a few of these   chip stalls and they look too delicious to pass
up. So, we’re going to get some chips. There’s three or four different kinds of dip, but only one
says warm. So, I think we’re going to get the warm   cheese dip. It also says that there’s garlic
or salty. And I can see a seasoned chip. So, we’re going to go with garlic seasoned chips and
warm cheese. Haven’t seen anyone get dip yet, so I don’t know if people aren’t dipping.
We’re gonna be the only one. Oh, we’re dipping,   dude. Yeah, we’re dipping, right? American dips.
Always dip. Can I do garlic chips instead cheese sauce? Yes. So, she was like cutting them fresh
and making them as you go. So, the chips are like as fresh as they could possibly be. We got
the garlic kind. There’s also salty available,   but obviously if there’s garlic, you go
garlic. Oh my god, flavor is so strong. Wow. Woo. There’s so much garlic. It’s like
almost spicy. It’s garlicky. Oo. Wow. They’re so cool how there’s so many different shapes
and spirals. Little cheese dip on there. Nacho cheese. You know, it’s just hu It’s humongous.
Like, I don’t know if you can see how large it is in real life. It’s a lot of chips. These are
freaking amazing. They’re so crispy and light. The seasoning on there is so good. Dude, we are
striking gold at this market so far. This is our first one of many. And we have been just lights
out hitting banger after banger. As far as chip, that’s the coolest chip I’ve ever had. Alyssa
said, “Santa’s coming.” Oh my god, she’s right. Goodbye. Good luck on your journey. So, we totaled it up
and we have €15 left to spend. Brandon wants a sausage and we need to get something sweet. So,
let’s go see what else we can find. There’s a few tips for the German Christmas markets that
are super important. Bring some cash. A lot of   the smaller stalls are still cash only. Dress
warm. Beanies and mittens are a must. You never know how cold it’s going to get. Tip number
three, arrive early. The sun sets in Europe   very early. Tonight’s sunset is at 3:20 p.m. It’s
nice because the lights come on and it gets all Christmas magical and you can start drinking
even earlier than you’d expect. And finally,   don’t rely on the city’s Wi-Fi connection. Many
cities offer free Wi-Fi. However, the congestion of so many people in the small market space makes
the Wi-Fi simply unusable. The easiest way to stay connected while traveling is with an eam. And
our top choice is SLY. We love Saley because   you can purchase, download, and set it all up
before you even board your plane. So, you know it will be activated and ready to use the second
you land. With over 200 destinations of coverage, we’re able to stay connected worldwide from Mexico
to Germany to China. Simply download the app, choose your country, your data plan, and activate.
And don’t miss out on our exclusive 15% discount using the code here’s good at checkout. You can
purchase your Sale Eim up to a month in advance   of your travels. So, it’s one less thing to check
off your Christmas to-do list. The app also sends you reminders and keeps you up to speed with
how much data you have, so makes it super   easy to add more if needed. So, whether you’re
trying to find the largest sausage in Berlin, texting your travel buddies where to meet for
an aftermarket beerstein or posting to social   media to make your friends at home jealous, scan
the QR code, click the link in the description, or go to their website sy.com/hersgood and use our
code heregood for 15% off your first e purchase. So, we are wandering around and doing a lap
and there’s a bunch of like dipped chocolates   and there’s definitely those chimney cakes that
are stuffed with different things. I saw an ice cream vendor, but the thing that looks the most
delicious to me are these fried doughnut balls.   I’m not quite sure how to say the German
name, but we just saw a really cool stand, so I think they were headed there next for
something sweet. So, we were having a little   difficulty understanding, but we are going to
try something called a small scoochin. I think is a traditional German fried doughut. They have
different flavors. We saw something with Nutella, something with vanilla. We saw powdered
sugar with cinnamon with our translator,   but we’re not really sure exactly what we’re going
to get, but it’s six pieces for five bucks. So, we’re going to do this for dessert. We got them.
What did you say they are? Uh, I don’t know. They said they’re not filled with anything, so I
have no idea. But, I got what I wanted. I got powdered sugar fried doughnut balls. Oh, they are
super warm and pillowy. The outside is crispy, and it’s like a chewy Polo Park donut. It’s
a little bit more dense than a traditional   doughnut. Powdered sugar makes it. I will say I
would have preferred the smaller ones that came with more fried surface area. The inside is kind
of chewy. Almost tastes like a bread instead of an   airy traditional doughnut. The powdered sugar
on the outside is really good. I’m just not a fan of the inside. It’s like kind of plain.
They’re not my favorite dessert in the world,   but you do get six of them for 5-year-old, which
is like a steal of a deal. This is how the freak’s eating them. She’s just eating the surface area
now. And they are way better that way. I like just   the crunchy outside. But we just saw like over
the trees that way. It looks like there’s another little Christmas market. Like a 7-minute walk. I
think we’re going to head over there and see if we   can find Brandon and a sausage to end the night
with. This was a great decision. That’s what I love about Germany. They are so into their markets
that some will have local ones and there’s bigger   ones. There’s always multiple going on in each
city at one time. And that is so cool. This one is actually called the Winter Market at Humbult Forum
and it’s a little bit more laid-back. There’s also   some more international cuisine that we saw
here at this one, but it is lit, really cool, and there are plenty of people who have just
gotten off of work who are enjoying a glute   find with their co-workers afterwards. But this
place is super cool, and it’s definitely worth the one-stop ride on the train or the 8-minute walk
to get to both markets. It’s so cool how they’ve projected all these lights like up onto the roof,
and each thing is just so intricately decorated. This is like such a laid-back market, one of the
more chill ones we’ve been to in Europe. [Music] I’ve seen many sausage stands today, but I
have yet to see one selling half a meter long   broughtwurst. And this stand definitely does. And
I think it’s only €7 for an enormous sausage. And I know that’s going to push us right close to our
budget. So, we are going to give that a shot for   our last bite of the day. Oh, yes. Oh my god,
it’s so big. All right, so I have secured the goods. One thing you definitely have to try at
a German Christmas market is the sausage. They   make amazing bread, and the sausages are usually
super snappy and flavorful. They had ketchup and hot mustard that you can add for yourself, and it
actually comes on a huge piece of bread. Normally,   the bread’s pretty small, but this thing is
enormous. I cannot wait to dig in. I only put ketchup on half cuz Alyssa is not a ketchup fan,
but I am stoked to eat this bad boy. Let’s just give this huge this huge broughtwurst a try. I
can’t believe this was only €7. It’s crazy for €7 that you can get this much. Talk to me. There’s
actually a ton of carowway in that sausage. It’s piping hot. The casing is great. The mustard is
a little bit hot. I haven’t quite gotten to the bread yet cuz the sausage is so long. So, the
bread is super crusty and the sausage is so herbaceious that it is just a perfect combination.
And I have at least a meter or a half a meter to go. So, there is plenty of this to enjoy. I can’t
speak to the quality of the other sausages here,   but this one is absolutely delicious. For €7,
it’s going to take me a long time to eat all this, but it is fantastic. And this is a perfect way
to end our day at the Christmas market in Berlin. We have just gotten off the train from Berlin
and have arrived at one of Europe’s largest   Christmas markets, Nuremberg. And we’re
going to show you the best way to spend $50. [Music] So, we made the mistake of coming yesterday
on a Saturday night at 700 p.m. And we thought   that coming on a Sunday at 3 p.m. might be a
little better, but I don’t think that there’s a good time to avoid the crowds at this Christmas
market ever. But we’re going to make the most of   it. We’re going to find some stuff to eat. We’re
headed to our first location right now. [Music] My strategy is to stay on the outsides and
then dip in when I see food that I want to   eat. We are starting off this Nerburgg Christmas
Market adventure where I think that you should also start at the Brver Holland and they are
famous for Nerburg sausages and specifically this thing that you should try which is called
a dry Vekla. And dryla is three tiny Nerburger sausages that are par boiled and then toasted
grilled on the fire, topped with mustard on a freshly baked roll. And this restaurant has been
serving these since 1312. It is an amazing place and we know this because we went there last night.
This sausage house is just on the outside of the main Christmas market. So, it is the best place
to start. Get a little something in your stomach,   have a glass of glue vine before you head into
the market that is totally crazy and crowded. Uh, one more unique thing about this place is they are
only €3.80 where the other spots are going to be   €450 I think for these. This stand is super cute.
The smell of sausages you can smell from like blocks away. There’s billowing smoke coming out.
And they’re actually making the sausages every day daily and they bring them out to this outdoor
grill to char them a little bit more. And you can   see the char as it goes onto the bread. There’s
mustard and ketchup to put on. And the mustard is much different than you would get in America. It’s
more like a Chinese spicy mustard which is unique.   It’s got like a spicy wasabi flavor to it, which
I absolutely love cuz you know we love spicy. The line can look long, but there’s two cashiers
and you pay and then wait for them to grill   your sausages to order. So, just pick a line, get
in there. There’s a cash one and a card one. So, you can use your card here, which is unique
for the Nuremberg market. A lot of these are   cash only. They have an interesting herbaceious
flavor to them. They’re absolutely incredible and they’re so unique to Nuremberg. This is something
you absolutely have to try when you’re here. All   right, 4 down, 46 to go. Let’s roll. So, the main
Christmas market is going to be in the square, but every street that branches out has multiple
stalls along it. So, basically the whole town just gets taken over by Christmas. Every street
is full. There’s hardly any cars and there’s   plenty of space to walk around. It honestly
kind of reminds me of Comic-Con in San Diego, but that’s only a weekend and this is for
an entire 2 months. So, it’s nuts how much   Christmas there is. We have walked all of but
like 15 ft and this red fiery stand is drawing us in. We’ve been looking for this. This is like
a Nermberg specialty. It’s similar to blue vine,   but there’s rum and fired sugar on top,
so it gives it like a little sweeter, more alcohol flavor to it. And he’s making it
right over here, which is so cool to see. And   it looks like this glass of blue vine comes with a
cookie, which is a steal of a deal. This might be the cutest cup that I’ve ever seen. So that sugar
up there, it looks like it swings from pot to pot, and they’re making it to order, which is
so crazy. So the way that they do that,   they soak the sugar cubes in rum and then they
pour fire all over it. So it ignites and the sugar runoff ends up in this little cup of glue
vine. I got a gingerbread. We didn’t even have   to pay for a gingerbread. Free gingerbread. I’m
so excited. Frost. Oh, that’s way different than glue vine. Definitely sweeter. Definitely more
alcohol. M delicious. It’s so warm. There’s so much more alcohol in this. You can definitely
tell. That’s why it’s a €1 extra. This was €6   for this plus the five uh euro deposit which we’ll
get back and a free cookie. So I feel like you pay a dollar you get extra booze and a cookie. Yeah.
And it’s freezing out right now. So this tastes   so good going down. All right. We are all full
from that flugan fried cer. What was it called? No idea. But we are ready to take on the crowd.
So let’s head right into the center of the market. With that glue bun, we got a little taste of
gingerbread. But this stall sells it oven fresh,   straight from the oven, like a cookie style. It
is €550, which is a bit more than I’ve seen in the stalls, but straight out of the oven. How
can you say no? Let’s spend five more bucks.   Thank you. Cheers. Enjoy. This is like the most
famous spot in Nuremberg. And it’s like soft to the touch and there’s like an icing underneath
it with some almonds on top. It’s worth paying a   little bit extra because this is like the famous
thing that you must get when you come to this Christmas market. The gentleman was so nice. I was
able to pay with card by 50 euro. I’m so excited   to eat this. Wo, that is way different than I
expected. Okay, so this bottom that I thought was icing because traditionally in America when you
get a gingerbread cookie, there’s icing on it.   This is a wafer and I was not expecting that. It’s
like a crunchy wafer. I don’t know how to describe it, but the cookie itself is like granola. Soft
and chewy. The crunchy bits in it and the flavor is insane. The texture is just so different than
I was expecting. This is not at all what I was   expecting. I was expecting crunchy gingerbread.
Like a gingerbread man. Maybe this isn’t what I thought it was. Wait, let me have another bite.
Yeah. Yeah. The first thing that I noticed is just how soft it is. Like Alyssa said, like normally
our gingerbread is like super hard and crusty.   This is such a unique piece of gingerbread.
Texturally, it’s almost like a fig Newton. It’s that soft and gooey inside and so savory.
It’s not quite as spicy as the gingerbread that I’ve had before. And the wafer is so interesting.
It reminds me of something in Japan. What’s the   word of it? Lucenchin. Oh, lukeen chin. Yo, tell
me if I’m saying it completely wrong. I love that she’s making them fresh just right behind you
like in the window. That’s so cool. [Music] Okay, so it does seem to be a little bit
more chill on Sunday, which I think maybe   week nights will be the thing. Also, start
early. The sun goes down here at like 4:00. So, if you show up at 2:30, the sun’s going to be
down and then it’s going to feel Christmy by   the time you get to your main meal. Also,
have enough glue vine and you won’t even notice that the sun’s still out. Along with
being one of the largest with over 180 stalls,   this market is also one of the oldest. This
trip, we’ve only been to Berlin, but in total, we’ve been to three in Poland, Belgium, London,
Amsterdam. We’ve been to quite a few Christmas markets. This one definitely has the most trinkets
and the most souvenirs, and they’re all unique,   which is pretty crazy. Usually, see, you see
the same ornaments over and over, but there’s a ton of unique ones here. So, we’ve seen these
mushrooms at a couple of the other markets,   and they seem super popular. I’m going to try
and order some mushrooms. I don’t know what I’m getting. And this place has a unique thing where
they add sauce to every single one of them. And they have these huge sauce buckets that they’re
squeezing like they’re milking cows. Thank you. Thank you, Dunka. Okay, now we have to get
out of this freaking crowd. I’m going to   go that way towards that. Good luck. So, we
decided to get the knoblock sauce. They had an herb one and another one which is apparently
uh garlic sauce. It’s so warm. It feels so good on my hands. It smells amazing. So garlicky. You
could see up there she had like a batch that she was starting with and the ones that we got were
like the finished ones that were just bubbling   in. That looked like there’s onions, a ton of
herbs, and then she gave me a real fork which she charged me €10 for. So I think I might
get €1 back for a deposit when I return my   fork. We got bread. We got this amazing cup.
It’s so hot. I can’t even freaking hold it, dude. I need to put my mittens on cuz it’s too
hot. Wait, we don’t really have mushrooms like   that at markets or anything. Yeah, I’ve never
seen mushrooms like that. Usually, it comes like on top of pasta or on top of something.
So, it’s weird to just get a cup of mushrooms.   We’ve seen these all over Germany. I was kind of
thinking to not get sauce, but we watched like six people in front of us and everybody got a sauce.
They’re huge freaking mushrooms. It’s so juicy.   Look how much juice is down there. There’s a
cup of mushroom juice. They’re so steamy. I can’t even tell you how hot this cup is. It looks
like it’s going to burn my freaking mouth off. [Laughter] So flavorful. So herby. Wow. So much onion
flavor, dude. It does not need sauce. Oh, that is fabulous. It tastes like French onion soup
with mushrooms. This is insane. You’re going to love that. Go deep. So you get a lot of the juice.
The juice is like the best part. Going deep. Oh   man, I have too many mushrooms on my fork. No.
A man, what this Christmas is sad. All right, I I think I got some. I got some with the onion,
too. So, the sauce is super flavorful. I think there’s some white wine, a ton of garlic, and
definitely some parsley. They are juicy. It’s like all the sauce that they’ve cooked those mushrooms
in, they ends up inside of the mushroom. It’s like   stuffed. I don’t think that it needs any of that
creamy garlic sauce. There’s plenty of flavor just in the broth that they’re cooked in. And the
onions add like this sweet like savory super comfort foody flavor. That’s the money bite.
That’s soaked up bread right there. Soaked up.   That is like the crouton in a French onion soup.
M. The amount of onions in there is crazy. Yeah. The onion flavor is what really makes it. This
is so unique. I feel like you don’t see this all   over. They were kind of pricey at €9, but they
were so popular and we’ve been seeing them all over. And the people milking the cows was just too
much to pass up. All right, I’m going to go try   and get one back for this fork. I think she might
give it to me. She gave me €2 for my deposit. So, one for the cup and one for the fork. So,
it only cost us eight. We’re down to $24. So, I found the super active stall. And they have
like these little cheeseburgers that they’re kind   of selling. I don’t know the name of it. I
think it might be Schwin Steak, but we are going to try and get one of these ground beef or
ground meat patties on a roll right now. They’re also selling these huge foot long sausages stuffed
with sauerkraut. This this stall is really popular and it’s super cool. So, we’re gonna see if we can
order and see what we’re ordering. Uh steak Frank. It looks great. All right. So, it’s called flu.
And she put some onions on there for me. I don’t know what kind of meat it is. That is beautiful.
€7 for that puppy. Yeah, that’s cheap. Load it up with some toppings. Oh, mustard, right? Oh, yeah.
Don’t drop it. Don’t drop it. Gotcha. Yeah. Load that up. As much of that as you want. All right.
Don’t drop it. Don’t drop it. Got a little German   hamburger on our hands. The onion’s good. It’s so
freaking busy that you have to like get your food and then like find a space on the outside or like
in an area to eat it cuz people are just bumping into you left and right. All right, I’m going to
let Brandon have the first bite of this one cuz   he’s been dying to try this meat that we’ve seen
at every stall. So, we had to do a little bit of Googling and it turns out this is a flesh Google
I think is how you say it. And we’ve seen these   in a lot of different markets. But it is like a
German meat patty of some sorts that they’ve put on this roll. We added a little bit of ketchup,
Sriracha, and mustard to it. And then also, it is topped with a peeping pile of sauteed mushrooms.
I am glad that Alyssa put some Sriracha on there cuz I have been craving some heat. Although I know
that that’s not the traditional way to eat this. I   will say that unlike a meatball or something, this
reminds me of a Salisbury steak. And the onions are perfectly sauteed and they’re sweet. The bun
is crispy. Interesting. It’s a little soft. It’s like a meatloaf sandwich. It’s definitely comfort
food, that’s for sure. And that is a big filler.   For €7, this might be one of the better values
you can get at this market. That is filling and delicious and interesting and unique and warm.
It’s so cold out. I wish that we could tell you exactly which stalls that we ate at, but this
place is so crazy. Like, you saw that map with the hundreds of stalls and lists. So, basically,
just walk around and when you see something   delicious with a long line, get in line and order
it. It’s crazy. You can get the smallest sausage I’ve ever seen and the largest sausage I’ve ever
seen at the same market. Literally like two stalls   apart. It’s so crazy. We are so cold. We are in
search of some heat or an indoors. And we just found this cool balcony area that you can see the
entire market square. And there’s a blue vine shop up here. So I think we’re going to get a glass of
blue vine. There’s also a like standing heater. So   maybe we can warm our hands a little bit. I think
it’s -1 C right now, which is like 30°. This is the coldest weather we’ve been in all winter. And
it’s not even snowing. It’s just cold without the   prettiness. It is only December 1st. So, make
sure you like this video and subscribe if you haven’t yet because we have so many more Christmas
markets to show you this season. This is exactly what I needed. I got a white glue vine this time
and Brandon got a beer. This is a cash only one up here though, so make sure you have your cash
with you. I think we’re only going to count one   of these, right? No, count them both. Okay, we
got €10 still left over after this. Once again, we are in line for something. We have no idea
what it is, but this place is a complete mystery.   There’s just billowing smoke and you cannot even
see the employees or the staff that are working here. Alyssa is ready to go. She’s getting a
look. Perfect. Thank you. Look at these things. Thank you so much. Okay, so it’s slick, which is
definitely saying that wrong, but it is a simmered pork skewer that they put like paprika and curry
and ketchup and sauce on it. And it was €10, but I get €250 back when I return the plate. like
everywhere the deposit and it came with bread. He   also gave us two forks. It looked too amazing to
pass up. The smoke billowing from this place and the line was super long. So like you have to
try it. We only had €7 left to spend so we may as well eat some more meat. I love There’s nothing
better than going to a Christmas market and eating   something you have no idea what it is for the very
first time. It smells spicy. It smells like curry. Like Indian curry powder. I’m excited. Can’t
tell if they’re deep frying it or boiling it or   steaming it. But the crazy thing is when those
meats come out of whatever broth that they’re doing this in, it looks like they’re completely
grilled. So it looks like a grilled food coming   out of a boiling concoction of something. And then
he’s topped it with everything you can imagine. What? I was wondering what that gun
was. He’s squirting everything with   some sort of saucy mixture on top of
all that powdered seasoning. What a cool squirt gun. Oh my god. Each one,
look at how he’s doing this. He’s going backhand with the no look pass behind
the back. He’s the Allen Iverson of This dude is a total G. People
cannot get enough. What a legend. This is definitely one of the most popping
stalls that we’ve seen. They are so talented   back there. They are just absolute magicians.
Let’s see what this situation is all about. It’s like mini pork skewers and then
they serve it with a side of bread. Wa! How interesting. First off, you get how tender
that pork is. It’s like pull apart tender. I don’t know exactly what the process they’re cooking
it in. The sauce isn’t as sweet as I thought it   would be. It’s totally savory. You definitely
get curry powder, maybe a little turmeric. And there’s like some caked on the sides that
you can kind of dip and add a little bit more   seasoning. This is such an interesting thing. The
bread is going to be a perfect bite with this. It doesn’t taste like what it looks like, but it
all goes together so well. The pork is so good. Wow. It literally falls off. It’s like barbecue
pork falls off the sticks. It’s so juicy. And I can’t get over how good the pork is. Yo, your
girl’s been complaining about how cold her hands   have been the whole day, and she is not even
noticing that she’s freezing. There’s onions in it. Onions stacked between the pork. Dude, this
place insane. Sashlick Wolf since 1952. This might be the best thing we’ve eaten at the grocery
market. This is the most unique thing. Hands   down the most entertaining thing that you can
have at the Nuremberg Market. And this is just an incredible experience overall. Do not skip this
stand when you’re here. You will not regret eating whatever I’m eating right now. And if you know,
let us know in the comments what it is. Welcome   to Munich. [Applause] [Music] So, we have finally
arrived in Munich. the third and final German city that we are featuring on our epic Christmas
market food tour. We’re going to be spending most   of our time at the Mariam Plats, which is the
main old school market here in Munich. However, we have made our way to Render Market to find
one of the most famous foods to try in the Munich   Christmas market, a smoked salmon sandwich.
We are starting our Christmas market tour at this stall here, which is one of the most viral in
all of Mutnick’s Christmas markets. This is flam, which is salmon. We are getting it on a roll.
This place is super busy. We walked by here the   other night and the line was around the corner.
It’s 3:30 right now, so there’s only about 15 people in line, which is the perfect start
to our market tour. You can tell that this   line gets super busy because he has a bunch of
rolls already made with sauce and lettuce. And there’s like seven salmon up there that he’s like
picking the stuff from. And there’s like 15 more over this fire on the cedar planks. I was worried
that since they had the bread and lettuce already   made in there that the bread wouldn’t be warm,
but it’s under a nice toaster, so the bread is nice and warm. The smell is amazing. And it
looks like there’s some like chili seasoning   on it. I’m so excited to try this. It looks way
more seasoned than I was expecting. I translated the words up there and it says that it’s a honey
mustard sauce, which sounds like that’s going to   be so delicious. This looks fantastic. I also
think this is an affordable price. I’ve seen these for way more expensive at other markets.
Like, well, think of we were just in New York   and we got a lobster sandwich this size and it was
$22. So, $9.50. That’s a steal. All right. Ready? M. Oh, the sauce is so good. It’s so saucy. M.
It’s like chili flavor. M. There’s a little spice on there. Peppery. The salmon has such a good
flavor. The lettuce adds a crunch. The bread   is crispy. The bread here is amazing no matter
what you get. So, that was expected. Wow. The salmon is so good. I just can’t believe how packed
full it is. It’s slowcooked, so it tastes kind of   smoked on there, actually. And the flavor of the
fire comes through so well. It’s delicious. Also, she has so many up there. I was kind of
worried that the quality wouldn’t be that good,   but it’s amazing. I wasn’t expecting it to just be
so good cuz they’re so busy. That man is working painstakingly hard. He’s got it on a spindle. So,
he’s just rotating multiple salmon at one time, and he is cooking them to absolute perfection.
The crust is my favorite part. It’s so seasoned, so peppery. It’s almost like a Cajun type of
thing. That cedar and smoke flavor permeates the entire salmon. So, it’s smoky and it
has like the most delicious sweet cedar kind of flavor to it. This is 100% worth
the hype. I cannot believe that it was   €9. This thing is fire. I do not want this
sandwich to end. I know. Do we have to eat anything else? Yeah. Just get five of these and
let’s end the video. $50 well spent. [Music] The main market is right behind us, but we are
going one more stop on the outskirts of it for another sandwich that you absolutely have to
try if you visit the Munich Christmas Market. This is the Victual Market, which is a year-round
market, but during Christmas, they do pop up some   Christmas shops. There is Christmas trees,
there’s ornaments, there’s a beer garden, there’s glue vine. It’s definitely worth a stop.
It’s definitely more food oriented and way less   crowded than the main market in the Oldtown
Square. This market has a lot of butcher shops and like fresh food available. And we are headed
to get one of their sandwiches that the butcher   shops make. And it’s like a pork belly sandwich
on a roll with mustard and sauerkraut. And it’s so crunchy and so porky and delicious. All
right. The total was only €8 for both of these, but we weren’t sure how to order either one, so we
decided to get two. So I think that this beautiful beast is called a crusen braten. And what it is
is almost like a ham sandwich, but there are huge layers of fat on one side and then chunky crispy
bits of almost like a chicheró pork skin on top. It’s topped with mustard and sauerkraut served on
one of those famous German rolls. But this is a bite that you must have in Germany. Wo! This is
one of the best bites of Christmas. It’s almost like an entire Christmas ham on there. And it’s
layered with more fatty chunks. But the the star of this show is the crispy skin. It is like a
chicheró you would get from Mexico topped with that mustard and sauerkraut is like perfect. So
he keeps the whole ham together and then when you order your sandwich, he cuts you off a slice and
it looks like a small slice until he puts it on   this roll and then it’s a monster roll for under
€5. The chicheró part is definitely my favorite part. M. Oh. M. So, this one he said was the
belly. The other one is the pork shoulder. So, this one looks more traditionally like a fatty
bacon part. Dang. It also looks like there might   be bones in it. I don’t know. This has that
crispy edge as well. A little bit less fatty parts on it than the other one. It’s crunchy in
your mouth. It’s way more fatty than the other one. Way juicier. Wow, that is so different. I
wasn’t expecting them to be so different. The crunchiness again is the big winner on this. This
one doesn’t even need the mustard and sauerkraut.   So flavorful on its own. I think I like this one
better. So, it’s kind of a happy mistake that we’ve ended up with two sandwiches because both
are amazing and you should try both in Germany.   We have €21 left to spend and we’re going to
make our way to the Mirramats Plaza where the main market is. I think that we’re looking for
something sweet, something to drink, and maybe   some kpatzel. We’ll finish this and then we’ll
take you to the main market. [Applause] [Music] Look how big the tree is. It’s like as
big as Rockefeller. It is no surprise   that this market is also really crowded.
And the crown jewel is this humongous real Christmas tree in the center of it.
This is one of the coolest vibes that   I’ve seen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen
a Christmas tree that large, that real, that up close. It’s absolutely incredible. It is
a sight to behold. It’s so big. It’s even bigger. We have seen some beautiful backdrops
for Christmas markets in Europe,   but this might be one of the
best. It’s beautiful. [Music] Okay, time for a drink. This one says recipe
on it. So, I think we’re going to try that one.   Can I have one and then one of that frin? Enjoy. Thank you. So, this is a drink that we
have already tried in Nuremberg, but they did it a different style. This is called a flugener
bowl. I don’t know. I’m assuming it means bowl on fire in German. But they give you a little piece
of sugar that’s been soaked in rum and they light it on fire and the flame will bubble and dilute
that sugar and it will fall into your drink. They serve it on this cool little plate with an extra
little ladle of rum. And you’re supposed to add it to the sugar and it will slowly dilute and make
your drink stronger and sweeter. Now the place in Nuremberg, they served a huge punch bowl and he
was doing this for you. But here at the Munich   market, they make it right in front of you and
serve it in an individual portion. The spoon is just taking too long. So, I’m going to dump this
rum right onto it. So, I’m not exactly sure how I’m supposed to drink this, but I think I’ll take
it out of this little pore spout. Like a little   glued vine gravy bowl. Merry Christmas, everybody.
Give this video a thumbs up and share with your friends. It’s going to spill all over you. Oh,
it’s like das boot like when it all spills in here. Whoa. Whoa. That is really strong. First
of all, it’s really hot and it is only slightly sweet. The sugar doesn’t add too much sweetness
to it. The glue bun has a nice flavor to it, but man, you get punched in the face with a
little bit of rum, which I I definitely don’t   mind that. I think that flavor-wise, the one in
Nuremberg was a little bit better, but this one is 100% stronger. And them lighting the flame
in front of you is just a cool experience. I do love when my food is interactive, so this is
right up my alley. They’ve given me a little   tool set and hand a drink to drink. I’m going to
try drinking it a different way though this time. How are other people doing this? Like, do we
see anyone with this drink? I don’t know how   you’re supposed to do it. It’s kind of messy,
but it’s definitely a treat worth having. You going to show me how it’s done? Yeah, I think you
drink it. They’re double fisting at the market.   I think you drink it this way. Not as easy
as it looks. Oh, it’s so strong with the rum in there. It stays hotter longer. This one’s
way hotter. I also got this white glue vine, which is great cuz it’s such a cute little cup.
I didn’t know that they had this on fire glue vine. Otherwise, we would have just got two of
these. Cool that we got two different drinks,   though. This cup is so cute. So, if you don’t
know yet, this is our third German Christmas market. And I don’t think we’ve explained it that
when you do get a drink here, you pay a deposit   for the cup. And that’s in case you want to keep
this. It’s usually €5, but when you return this, you get your €5 back. We’ve been paying with
cards, so we’re getting the euros back in cash,   which is kind of a hack to get cash if you don’t
want to use the ATM. They gave me €11 back for that little tray set and the glue vine glass.
So now we have €1150 to spend. Let’s go eat. [Music] We are hellbent on finding these deep
fried apples, but the only place that we saw that really served them, they had they they were
really tiny. And the pictures that we’ve seen,   they’re like huge slices of apple that they
fritterfy and top with sugar. Fritter fry. So, we’re on the prowl for those. But there
is also we have yet to have spatzel on   our German Christmas market tour. So, I do
know that there’s a vendor selling that. So, I think that we might do that while we continue
our search for these spreaders. [Music] I found it. Follow me. Alyssa claims to have
located the apple fritters. Look. That’s the sign we’ve been looking for. This stand is so
cool. We finally found the guy. He is taking   the sliced apples and battering them to order
almost like a bit of tempura. And then he’s got this huge fat of oil and he’s frying them in
small batches. So, they’re coming out nice, hot, and fresh. I cannot wait to try these. Kind of
expensive, but he’s making them right to order. Yeah, they look a lot better than the other place
I saw them at. He’s selling so many that they’re   so freaking fresh. There’s none sitting there.
They’re like in the fryer in your mouth. Yeah, bro. They’re so fresh. Oh, we got them. They’re
super hot. Almost too hot to touch. These are   apple slices that he puts in dough, then
fries, and then right before you get them, he tosses them in a sugar mixture. So, they
have all this sugar on the outside. They look   so crunchy and they’re huge. These are the biggest
ones that we’ve seen at this market. Definitely. They smell so good. I’m so excited. M. Wa. So,
the outside is so crunchy. M. They’re like green apples. They’re sour inside. Very German for the
apples to be the sour kind. Wo. They were sourer than I thought. I don’t know why. The apple inside
is nice and juicy, but the outside is crunchy, and the sugar adds such a good little sweet
flavor to that sour apple. Oh my goodness. I love this. I’m glad we waited to get these
big ones. It tastes like apple pie bites.   This is genius. This is great. I’m glad we hunted
this down. The crunchy bits, it is closely similar to like tempura batter. They look crunchier than
they’re going to be. They’re actually fairly soft,   but that apple flavor just shines throughout.
And the bits that are crunchy are phenomenal. It is literally just a warm apple pie in a bite-siz
ring. So, some of that crunchy came off. And look, there’s an actual whole apple in there. It’s
so crazy. It’s delicious. We had a ham sandwich   today and an apple pie. And I just feel like we’re
having Christmas dinner at this Munich Christmas market. We’ve noticed in all the reviews that the
crepes are super popular here. Skip the crepe, get the apple fritter, hands down. As we
end our three Christmas markets in Germany,   a few things I’m surprised about. I didn’t see any
pretzels, which like as an American, I just think Germany has pretzels all over the place. There
was a lot less sausage at the Munich market than I was expecting. And it’s a bit more expensive
than I was thinking. Another surprising thing is   that Munich is like a city full of beer holes. And
there is no beer at this market. There’s glue vine and hot cocoa and coffee and punch and eggnog,
but there’s no beer, which is so strange for a city that’s known for their beer hauls. Somehow
we’ve made it through our Christmas travel in   Germany without getting spatul since today is our
last German market. Before we head off to Prague, we are headed to get some cheesy spatzels. This
portion looks gigantic. Yeah. I don’t know if it’s cuz it’s towards the end of the night or what,
but they are doing some heavy lifting with those   scoopers. It does not look like a light dish at
all. Great. Thank you so much. Oh, the cup is a wafer. Wow. Okay, so I am so excited for this
authentic German bite. I’ve had spatzel before, but I’ve never had the kash kash spatzel, I think
is how you say it, which is the one with cheese. I   love the generous helping of fried onions that
they’ve added on there. Look at how good this looks. Oh man, the steam is just coming right off
of it. They’re working so hard to make this and they keep stirring it so that it doesn’t burn.
This is ooey gooey comfort food. It honestly tastes almost like a sour cream and onion macaroni
and cheese. It is so flavorful. The fried onions are crispy and light and airy. And the noodles
are even more hearty. They sap up more of that cheese. So the noodles are more like aki rather
than a noodle. And it’s less cheesy than you would   think. Sour cream and onion is the right flavor
for it. I love the crispy onions on top. And the coolest part is that it comes in this wafer. So,
the bowl is totally edible. I mean, you probably won’t eat it, but that way you don’t need to get
a deposit back. 650. And this is a hearty bowl   of food. Also, it’s so warm and it’s just getting
cold now at 8:00 p.m. So, this is the perfect way to warm up before you head to a beer hall after
the Christmas market. Thank you guys so much for   watching this Munich Christmas Market Tour. We’re
headed to Prague next. Be sure you subscribe. You don’t want to miss it. Thank you guys. Merry
Christmas. Merry Christmas. Thank you guys so   much from the bottom of our hearts. Without all of
you, none of this would be possible. So, thank you guys for coming all over the world with us every
week. And Merry Christmas to everybody. [Music]

  1. Love it!!! So timely! I was just thinking of putting up some holiday decor, and this definitely puts one into the Christmas magic vibes!!! Happy Holidays!!!

  2. Don’t make a kid because it costs like $100,000 dollars from 0 to 18 years

50% divorce, 90% break up anyway because of fighting and domestic violence arguing

Be single like most people so a major accident never happens

  3. Lovely vid, thanks! I'll be going to my first Christmas Markets next month. Can't wait! I'll be going to the Nuremberg and Munich markets. I'll be in Munich for the Krampus parade.

  4. Always love your Christmas market videos (and all your videos). You guys are so positive, I love seeing you try different foods and get so excited about each one! Also great descriptions of what they taste like. 🙂

  5. The reason our Christmas markets are becoming increasingly expensive, or even have to be cancelled, is due to our new immigration from the Middle East, who hate our way of life 👍🇩🇪

  6. Before the terrorist attacks in Berlin and Magdeburg, a mulled wine cost €3. But due to counter-terrorism measures, prices have risen dramatically. Today, some Christmas markets are being canceled, or they're raising prices because of these counter-terrorism costs. People are destroying our culture with their beliefs, and that hurts.
