Germany’s University cities – Aachen

Welcome to Aken in Western Germany. I have three mustos and things to eat for you. You might want to come to Aken if you are a future engineer or scientist. The RWTH Aen is one of Europe’s top unis for engineering and it also consistently ranks among Germany’s best universities. First up, the breathtaking Aken Cathedral. Step inside and soak in centuries of history. A key highlight here is the Palatine Chapel, the last piece remaining of Charlemagne’s original palace and the location for German coronations over the centuries. Today, visitors can still admire Shaaman’s throne and also his very shiny gold casket. Next up, it’s the iconic Allison Brun. This beautiful neocclassical fountain represents the city’s historic spa culture with thermal waters that have been popular since Roman times. It’s the perfect spot to relax and take a photo. After all that exploring, we need a rest. Let’s check out Karolus Turman, Akan’s hot spring spa. Here you can relax in the warm mineral thermal water in indoor and outdoor pools. No visit to Aan is complete without tasting Akano Printon, a legendary spice gingerbread treat. The exact recipe is a closely guarded secret. Now I’m going to dig in. This is actually the perfect souvenir to bring home. And that’s it for Aen. How did you like it?
