Americans First Reaction to South African Coast.

They put a lot of time and effort in it and I thank them for it. I’m really enjoying the two videos I’ve watched but we haven’t got into the best stuff I’m being told by you. You’re telling me that Y I got to check Y out. Am I saying his name right? I hope. Um he’s got some amazing stuff too. I’ve already subscribed to him. I have not seen any of his videos yet cuz that will be coming soon. But I really appreciate um these guys. They’re from America. I found out the last video we seen their license plate was from the US. Um, so I’m super stoked. This already is starting off right here. This visuals, the scenery here is amazing. I I’m super psyched. If you guys like this content, you know, hit my like button, too. But always show love to the the original creators first. So, thank you guys so much. Um, what an amazing game. We got to talk about Saturday’s game as well. I got some videos up. Well, they’re up for now until they get taken down by World Rugby or something. But anyways, we watched it live on my Rumble channel. If you want to come on weekends right now, maybe I’ll start picking up more live streams, but on Rumble, look in the description down below. Hopefully, I put the link down there. Remembering to put the link down there. We’ll be doing live streams over there. All right, that’s where uh I watched the France and South Africa game. And what a game. What a game. I’m so glad I was able to watch. Anyways, let me stop holding you guys up. Let’s get into this and see what we’re going to see. Adventure down south from the bustling city of Cape Town. Maybe I should put it into my head. We’re on our way to a starting off. I’ll listen to what she’s saying here in a second, too. But I I love I I’ve never really lived around the ocean. I’ve been to it and I just I love it. Actually, okay, I lied. I I just lied to you straight up. U I don’t know how I brain farted me. When I was in the military, uh the US military, I I lived in Hawaii for a while. Didn’t spend a lot of time at the beaches though because, you know, doing what we do. Um, but uh I did I did get down there quite a bit. But not being in the military and traveling, I haven’t lived and grew up or anything right around the ocean. So, I always love seeing that. But it’s a weird contrast to me cuz when I see ocean and then I see this, it’s not desert, but it doesn’t strike me as like luscious green type things that I guess my head just kind of assumes right off the bat. Maybe this is winter time. Um I don’t know but beautiful anyways I would I mean imagine living in one of these houses right right near the beach boy movie reference special spot and as you can see the views on this drive are absolutely incredible hugging the coast and just look at that sparkling water. Wow. Now out there in the distance that’s False Bay stretching out before us. truly magnificent site, especially on a day like today. Oh, wow. Okay. So, all the white that I’m seeing and I I I made a comment um the other day or the the other video that we did and you had told me that the um white is because of the heat and stuff reflects the heat. All the white vehicles, all the white houses. And I think someone also made a comment about uh it it’s cheaper for a paint or something like that maybe. I I don’t know, but I get the reflective purposes from all the heat and everything. Um so you don’t have to spend as much money on cooling uh the house and stuff. But to me visually, it just looks so good and it stands out so much against like the backdrops and stuff. It’s just I wish I could travel. I really do. I really, really wish I could travel. Um, man, we have perfect weather for this day trip. Now, False Bay stretches out from Cape Peninsula all the way to the mountains that you can see on the Let me take a look here. So, we’re coming out of Cape Town here. So, False Bay. Oh, this huge False Bay here. Um, so I bet they’re going to travel the coast all the way down. Um, I think Oh, they might have came straight across because I did see that sign where they were coming into fish fish hulk. Is that what it’s called? Meenberg Seal Island. They’re probably going to come across this. All right. The other side. This drive is absolutely beautiful and the water is an incredibly deep blue. I had no idea we’d be seeing water this color down here in South Africa. You always think of like an interesting fact about this place that’s pretty cool. The name False Bay comes from early sailors a long time ago who were sailing back from the east. They would often mistake Cape Hclip, which is on the far side of the bay over there, for Cape Point, the southern tip of this peninsula. thinking that they were already on the right path, they’d sail into this bay by mistake. Or Cape Point. Wait, wait, let me see real quick. Um, where’s Cape Point? Oh, down here. Well, that’s kind of weird. How would you mistake that? This is all flat. Cape hope. And there’s a huge bay. There’s no bay here. Oh, he maybe danger point. Conan point. No, they said Cape Point. Maybe Cape Point is somewhere else cuz I don’t see it on this thing. It said Cape Point, right? Time ago who were sailing back from the east, they would often mistake Cape Hang Clip, which is on the far side of the bay over there, for Cape Point, the southern tip of this peninsula. Thinking that they were already on the right path, they’d sail into this bay by mistake. thinking they were headed up the west coast of Africa, but instead ended up stuck in this big bay, hence the name False Bay. Yeah, False Bay. Now, I’ve already told you that False Bay isn’t our main destination today. Oh, no. We are on a mission. Our ultimate goal is a little place famous for some very unique residents. Penguins. That’s right. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. African penguins. Why? Why? What? I don’t get it. Penguins I thought were in the Arctic. Today we’re going to go see the incredible African penguins at Boulders Beach. I mean, okay, I I’m here to learn. Never in a million years would I thought they’d have penguins here. Oh my god. What? [Music] So, there’s wild wild. I was thinking they’d be in a zoo or something. [Music] Dude, penguins are so cool in the head. They’re just chilling. They always just look like they’re chilling. They’re always dressed up like they’re going somewhere special, you know? Got the tuxedo on. Loving it. Oh my goodness. Man, they just chilling. The way they walk and everything just makes you just chuckle and smile. Dude, I challenge you to look at a penguin and not smile. [Music] Damn. I always thought penguins had to have snow and was cold and like arctic. Wow. Uh, I hope this section doesn’t get copyrighted out with all this music cuz it’s amazing. Look at these things. Aren’t they just the cutest? These are crazy. These are African penguins. And Boulders Beach is one of the very few places in the world where you can see them up close. And here’s a fun fact for you. These little guys are also known as jackass penguins because of the donkey like sound they make. Now, if you listen closely, you might just hear it in the background. Another cool fact, African penguins are monogous, meaning they usually mate with one penguin for life. I thought all penguins were monogous. And they can live for a surprisingly long time, often up to 20 years in the wild. They’re super social, forming colonies that can number in the thousands. And they’re fantastic swimmers, as you can see. Look at them just swimming all along out there and jumping. They are able to hold their breath for a few minutes and dive to impressive depths to catch fish. These are just the cutest and most incredible little creatures. Now, Kurt and I heard through the grapevine that there might be a secret backway onto the beach where you stay just outside of the protected area of this park. But the penguins are also there sometimes, allowing you to get an even closer look at them and actually walk on the beach amongst the penguins. And believe me, the temptation to do that is huge. To be right there in their natural habitat, seeing them up close without any barriers, well, that would just be a nature lover’s dream. But we also know that right now, it’s mating season for these incredible little birds. And disturbing them, even just by the beach, could potentially harm their breeding efforts. We love these penguins and their well-being is more important to us than getting the perfect super close shot and walking along with them on the sand. So, for today, we’re going to stick to the well-maintained boardwalks here at this park. We still get an amazing view and they get their space to do their thing. So, this trip today isn’t just about the penguins, though they’re definitely the sand dunes. We’ve told you that today is about driving the van after its latest visit to the mechanic. And honestly, it’s a bit of a man, just look at I’m just looking I I have stuff going through my head as I’m watching that normally. I don’t think most people think about because being in the military and stuff and traveling through woods and different terrains and stuff like that. I’m looking at these trees and things and I’m thinking back, man, you know, if if there wasn’t a trail cut here and stuff like that, how would you get through any of this? It just looks like just tangled just craziness, man. After its latest visit to the mechanic and honestly, it’s a bit of a test run for me. After a long time relaxing in the Airbnb, these stairs down to the beach are definitely testing my heart strength. My legs are feeling it and I am out of breath. Stopping on many, many benches to rest. But there is no way absolutely what a beautiful view to see these incredible African penguins. It’s absolutely worth every single step, man. The north view across the bay. Wow. [Music] You could just sit out there for hours and just chill, relax. A ladybug. [Music] Damn, this is a scary looking caterpillar. I wouldn’t touch it. What are those? What are those guinea pigs? Are those wild guinea pigs? Little stick bug. More penguins. Oh, there’s a guy kayaking out there. Oh, wait. That seagull. Look at this. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. That is so cool. I’ve heard about that. That seagull is picking up like a shell, like a muscle or something, and dropping it on the rock to break it open to eat it. [Music] How smart are these freaking birds, man? Oh, man. Just sailing out there, too. The diversity in terrain just boggles my mind. These rolling hills, the ocean, and now these mountains with jagged mountains out there. I mean, what a view. Could only imagine like on a crystal clear day what it would look like. Got a slight haze out there right now. We just left Boulders Beach and honestly our hearts I can see why it’s Boulder Beach. seeing those adorable penguins. But our day trip is not over yet. We’ve hopped back in the van and we’re making our 45minute drive. More of the palm trees hugging the coastline the whole way. God hell to live in one of those houses as a destination. Just look at this scenery. The deep blue of the water crash. Oh my goodness, dude. There’s like I don’t know if there’s some houses up there, but there’s like nothing here. And then you have like this this little sprinkling of houses right here. Could you imagine living in one of those houses right there? And every morning you can grab your coffee, just stroll down to the beach, stick your feet in the sand, and just just admire the view. And then the sunset. I don’t know which way the sun would set here. I don’t know which is north, southeast, and west, but oh my god, that would be amazing. ing against the rugged rocky coastline is absolutely breathtaking. I bet the fishing there is amazing. You come across these little hidden beaches and the water turns from that deep blue to the most incredible shade of turquoise over this beautifully white sand and those huge cool boulders just strolling along the shore. If we had more time, we’d be stopping at every single one of them just to take it all in and probably climb on some of those rocks. And this little city we’re driving through right now, well, it’s called Simon’s Town and I think it would probably make a perfect weekend getaway. But today is a day trip and we’ve got a deadline. We need to be back to the city before the sun sets. So, we are pushing on and we have just entered the Table Mountain National Park and everywhere we look is stunning. Our final goal for the day is the very tip of this cape, the famous Cape of Good Hope. Man, what a freaking view. It’s like the earth just got pushed up to the sky. That is awesome. Imagine way back in the day, travelers, you know, coming across the land from from inside the land and and making their way here and they’re walking up that edge, that edge way over there. They don’t see the ocean, know it’s there yet. They’re walking up up up, get to the top of that, and then you see the bay. Oh my god, that’d be amazing. Even though it’s not the southernmost point of Africa, it is a hugely important landmark. For centuries, sailors coming from the east would finally get to this point and it would be their signal that they could start to turn north again. A truly magnificent place, and we’re so glad we came, especially because we’ve heard there’s a restaurant at the top. And after all this driving and adventuring, we’re starving. So, let’s go find some food with a view. Yes. Hey guys, I’m here for it. We just finished up with an amazing lunch. Well, you didn’t show us your lunch. Really was leaning hard towards this. Oo, crispy crisp calamari. I love calamari. Slow roasted pork belly. Two ocean seafood platter. Two flame grilled uh crayfish. Wait, baby. Local fresh muscles. Wow. Spicy chicken curry. Oo. New York cheesecake. Let’s go. Smoked and peppered cured salmon. Salmon trout. Never heard of a salmon trout. Seafood and the fish. But at the last second, I made an audible and I went with a pork belly. Let me tell you, this pork belly was out of this world. It had a rich brown brown gravy like pork flavored with bacon uh mashed potatoes and then that oh so delicious pork rice. It smell like yours too. Yeah, I had a chicken that came with some steamed calamari and it had a little spinach and a little cheese folded up inside of the chicken but it was covered up with a creamy tomato sauce and it all came together really really good. It was really tasty. What an amazing meal. Dessert has arrived. Look at you. Thank you. So, this is a little velvet chocolate cake with a dollop of strawberry ice cream. A big giant strawberry. Look at this little chunk of stuff right here. We are spoiling ourselves today, guys. And this view we have out here is stunning. And so, the view we’re looking at right now towards the sun would take us back to Cape Town. So we drove in along these cliffsides to some stunning they came in along there. It’s just such gorgeous hues of blue and the beaches are white and sandy and that means the shallow water is turquoise. But as we look out over here into the Atlantic Ocean, we’re at the tip of the Cape. But across the way is the southern coast of Africa. And when we leave here, we will be heading along that coast. And so, spoiler alert, there will be some info coming out about our plan moving forward for Africa. And uh Snow’s showing her research knowledge. She knows all the little places she’s looking out there at. Yep. It’s a secret. You’ll find out when we leave. Well, we wrapped up that amazing lunch. And as we were waiting for the bill, we had a nice lady from Wisconsin, Debbie, walk over to our table and introduce herself. And she, of course, has been following our journey. She did tell us that her favorite was South Africa. And she even referenced the blue toucan, which means Mo area of Ecuador. Oh, South America, sorry. But anyway, it was really cool that she came over. She with us was with a whole group of people. We chatted with them for a little bit, but now we are back on the road and we are headed to down the mountain a little bit to go all the way to the point here to the Cape. You kind of go up along the cliff’s edge. Now we’re going to go down and it looks like we might be able to drive out to a beautiful beach and kind of look at some of this Cape Hope area from sea level. And when we were coming up, I got to warn y’all, it looked incredibly beautiful. So, let’s go see that. All right, guys. We’re having an amazing time out here test driving the van. And I gotta tell you, out here on the Cape, there is zero shortage of stunning views. You right now, I’m walking through the parking lot, but I’m excited because up there, there’s a short climb and there’s some going on and some going to be some higher vantage point of really what is the Cape of Good Hope. Now, this is not the southernmost point landpoint in Africa. We will be going to that, but this is the southernmost point of the Cape. And so, anyway, we’re going to go up here, get a little hike up these rugged walks, get some views. Let’s go. Cave of Good Hope Scenic Walk. [Music] Wow, what a view, man. That is amazing. That is so cool. I like how they use like wood logs and like wood logs and stuff like that from nature and everything instead of building I don’t know if they did this on purpose instead of building cement walkways and stuff like that cuz it kind of keeps that aesthetic not disturbing the land as much um but still makes it so you can get up [Music] And they be like me trying to get up there like definitely need to get better shape before I get out doing something like that. Wow. How cool is that? All right. It was a quick scamper up here. The wind is howling, but on the way don’t get blown off the trail, I saw a sign that says this is the southwestern most point of Africa. So that’s where we are. Not the furthest south, but the furthest southwest southwestern. And you can see behind us the road we came in that beautiful turquoise beach with the white sands back behind us. And this is the stack of rocks I climbed up. And here’s a cliff that basically pummeles straight down. Wow. And you can see some people have gone up top there. I loved this little rocky outcrop that we’re on right here. But this gives you views down the coast. And you can see there’s other spires of rock poking up there. And on down further east, if you keep looking east out there are some mountains. And that’s the coast of southern Africa. So we’ll be skirting along that. That’s the direction they’re going in just a week or so. But look at this place, guys. What a beautiful place on our planet. And these rocks are just amazing. This place looks so so good. That ocean looks amazing. But in my head, the first thing I think of, and correct me if I’m wrong, you’ll know obviously. Um, there’s great whites out there, right? I mean, there’s great white sharks out there. Um, I don’t know if you’d find me in the ocean. And you can see the van down there. And Snow’s down there. and she’s getting some video of all these seabirds that have collected along this point. And there’s a bunch of sea kelp out there. If you can see that brown stuff in the water, that’s that’s like a seaweed or a seek help. And offshore, we are coming into whale season. We haven’t spotted any yet. We’re a little of some of the best spots. And uh anyway, just what a stunning place out here at Table Mountain National Park and the Cape of Good Hope. Wow. All right, there’s nothing left to do but to hop back down to just to give you guys a quick little Oh, man. He’s got to jump across that little bit. Scamper through. There is this sort of if you can see down below me. Oh my goodness. treacherous gap. I got to hop and it’s really more of a step than a hop. But there’s a little trail that curves around or several trails that curve around through this rocks. These rocks and ample opportunities that I think I just got a subscriber. I think that’s what that was from. I forgot to turn off my sounder. Sorry guys. What a amazing day. Kurt may be taking you up on this giant hill behind us to get the best views. But he doesn’t know that while he’s up there, I discovered seals. Lots of them. So, pulled out the big camera. And I have to warn you, every time I see seals, I’m going to overshoot. Nope. Um, I should probably turn that off. I apologize. Thank you whoever subscribed to me from one of my videos because I’m doing a recording. I’m not live streaming right now. Thank you so much. I can’t see who it was, but uh if you guys hear those noises, just know that’s what it is. I really appreciate everybody that’s doing it. So bear with me cuz they’re cute. All right, I’m here for it. Where are they? Oh, they’re out. Oh, wow. Okay. Oh my god. At first, my eyes didn’t catch it. I thought those were rocks. Wow. So, you got seals and seal sea lions. Sea lions. Do they have tusks? Is that how you differentiate? What? How do you know a difference between a seal and a sea lion? Are they the same thing? I don’t know. and walruses. But these are seals. Oh, two of them are getting a little frisky there. Is that there’s a seagull just standing on top of a seal up there? Damn. Is that geese? I’m assuming. I couldn’t leave here without coming down by the water. here at the southwestern most point. I was up there and so you can see I’m just a little closer to that southwestern point out here. Man, that’d be dangerous getting in the water anywhere around there. This is it, guys. You get tore up by those rocks. This is the beginning of the end of Africa. I have reunited with Kurt here in the parking lot. Pointed the seals out to him so he can see them, too. And now we’re headed to the van. And it’s time to start working our way back to the city. But we still got a beautiful drive and a few pretty beaches. I told Kurt I hoped we could pull off at on our way back, but we’re running out of daylight. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I know you are. The van is running really good, too. That would be really hard. Like, you want to stop everywhere and just hang out. You know what I mean? Wow, guys. You just don’t have enough time. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little worn out. It’s been almost 6 weeks since my last proper hike up the Big Daddy Dune back in Namibia, and my legs are definitely burn. Namibia. Nam. I’ve been practicing. Um, you guys been giving me advice in the comments. Namibia. Namibia. Nam. Namibia. Namibia. I was adding an extra M in there. Namimia. It’s just N. Nimia. Yeah. Right now. But what an incredible afternoon. We’re now driving back out of Table National Park and I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about this place because to be honest, it’s blown us away. This place is amazing. Man, what is that? This park is They might explain here in a second. But is that like a lighthouse area? Um Oh, wow. What a view that would be from up there. It stretches all the way down the Cape Peninsula and covers over 25,000 hectares, which is about 62,000 acres. That’s right. It’s huge. We spent the last month in the city. That’s the stadium. That’s the stadium, right? Name of the stadium. What was the name of the stadium? Holy crap. where we can see the northern end of the park from our Airbnb neighborhood. Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. There’s So, is this Table Mountain up here? I’m just going off of views and then I think this is Lion’s Head, right? Cuz I remember in that other video, I think we were looking at it from the other direction. Um, or is this Lion’s Head over here? Like is this like a lion’s back and a lion’s head? And that’s Table Mountain. Such an iconic part of the skyline. Table Mountain with its famous flat top is over a,000 me. Yeah. So this is Lion’s Head. That’s right. That’s right. That’s right. And this is Table Mountain. Um in Hawaii uh on Aahu. This the re this kind of reminds me of Diamond Head. Um I think it’s a lot bigger, but yeah. high. While lion’s head, which stands next to it’s a bit smaller and gets its name because its shape is said to resemble a crouching lion. These mountains are not just beautiful, but they’re also ancient, believed to be over 600 million years old. Now, I’ve been staring up at these mountains, and I don’t know, man. I think I have to get up them. And to be honest, I’m not sure if I’m in the shape. Yeah. But this is part of the Cape Floral Region, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the smallest but the richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms. And the biodiversity here is off the charts. That’s what I was saying. It’s so you got like just different areas combined together like the different types of the mountains, the ocean, uh like what’s it called? Um the freaking palm trees and stuff. In my head, it’s like a collection of all these different things you see around the world all in one place. There are over 2200 plant species in this park, which is more than the entire United Kingdom. We were so excited to see the ostriches walking down alongside the road when we were leaving. They’re a common sight down here along with a few other animals like the boa and zebra that have been re introduced to the area. Babbach. And of course, the highlight was getting to see the Cape of Good Hope. And a perfect way to end an amazing day. Now, let’s go back to the city for some Table Mountain National Park dinner. I’m hungry. Wow. We tried to take a different route back to town. Uhoh. Come up from the south along the west coast, a part of the Cape Town city we haven’t seen yet. The stuff that is south of our little apartment. But we got almost to the toll booth and there was this big sign that said no taller than 3 m. I’m glad we saw it because we’re 3.2 m. We had to turn around and come back and backtrack and kind of come back where we have to just drive through the city again. But I got to tell you guys, it was a really good day. I mean, it just I don’t think anything could have gone any better than I’m tired. I wore myself out. Yeah, tuckered out. We’re going to be sore tomorrow, guys. Good exercise. Climbing to see the penguins and running around to get the views. But man, it was a really good day. And Kurt says the van is feeling really strong. Yeah, I got to tell you guys, um, and don’t take this the wrong way. We’re not overly confident at all. 400 m by accelerating up the hills and around the city. I feel like the van was stronger, more responsive, and uh yeah, just running better, which it should after all the work we’ve had done. So, wow. Hopefully, it’s it’s going to hang. I don’t know. I just got this thought. I’m hearing him talk about the van and all that stuff, but in my head I’m thinking what it would be like to just be living there daytoday going about your daily job doing whatever you do every day in this type of environment. The scenery um you know when you get your off time you you have this as your playground. I mean out that way. I’m still nervous guys. I think I will be for a while. I think the van has to earn my confidence back and um that’s just for all the trouble we’ve had, especially in some of the parts of the world we’ve had the trouble in. Wow. But today she did good to continue on to and this was her road test because now we are getting ready within the next few days to load everything back up in the van and leave the city of Cape Town. Oh, where you going? But for now, the goal for right now is to maneuver the city during rush hour traffic, get back to our Airbnb, and check on the kitties. If you liked this video, be sure to hit that. It really helps us a lot. Make sure you guys check these guys out by all means. I don’t want to take anything away from these creators, these amazing creators. Um, spending, you know, the time and the work and and energy in to getting out and being able to enjoy all this type of stuff, but then also getting the videos and editing and then all that stuff. This is just it’s it it’s freaking amazing to me how beautiful all sorts of different places are in the world. You know what I mean? And that’s what I’m here for. Um, one day I would love to be able to visit some of these places in person, but just just being able to get to see them and learn about them and understand them was just amazing through other people’s eyes as well. And uh, wow. Wow. That’s all I got to say. Thank you guys. If you guys like this type of content, please let me know in the comments below and also by leaving a like button, hitting a like, leaving a like, hitting that like button, whatever you got to do, whatever. Cape town stadium….home of the Stormers.
Cape of Good Hope is also known as Cape Point
Kurt meant bontebok not botebok
Cape Point's at Cape Agulhas bro, lowest point of Africa
Hi.
This is Ashley Hoffman.
I'm Capetonian and was born here 62 years ago.
To answer your question regarding what it's like living here and grinding through the daily routine?
You cannot get used to how absolutely beautiful this creation of God is, encapsulating everything that's stunning on earth and tossing it into this wonderful melting pot called Cape Town.
A must see by all and an absolute site to behold.
As a South African living abroad, I really enjoyed this video. Made me so nostalgic and a little homesick. Thank you for sharing!
Great video bro! FYI Cape Point at 5:50 is where it reads Cape of Good Hope on the map.
Are u experiencing the white genocide in our nice country
It may seem all normal but em South Africans are hiding their Genocide behind those beach bolders…see how sad those beachgoers are?ππ
lol. About the great whites. You have seen shark week? lol. Usually majority is shot in false bay
Wow just beautiful
Watching the video (5:58), and don't know if you will mention it later. Cape Point is Cape of Good Hope on your map. This was once thought of as the most southerly tip of Africa, until we all heard of Cape Agulhas ππ
At 13:40 – that is call a Hyrax, also known as a Dassie in SA. Fun fact, they are the closest relative to the Elephant. Talk about a "small" fact. lol
cape point is cape of good hope
Sad that they didn't show you the tip of Cape Point from on top..you can actually see a clear line of where the two oceans meet. Warm and cold oceans coming together..green and blue. We got engaged there
They drove past my house π€£πππ
Bro we so used to the penguins in the South, they basically our family. Lol people sit down to have conversations with them.
The small sprinkle of House u talking about is smitswinkel baai. Lots of shark attacks there aswel
Cape Point is at the end of the main peninsula. I live in Cape Town and it's the best place to live.
@37.22 To answer your question: (I live right there in the area you have on screen). What do we do when living here? Well… I cannot speak for others, but on weekends or days off, we go swimming in the ocean/tidal pools, when there are waves we go surfing or bodyboarding, or beach-combing for interesting things that washed ashore in the many rockpools, free-diving/snorkeling when there are no waves or wind, kite-flying with the kids when it's windy (often), hiking/walking when bored with those other activities, kayaking for fun, rock/shore-fishing (sometimes just off the harbour wall in Kalk Bay, where you can occasionally sight Orca whales in the harbour, and many seals), wine-tasting in the vineyards nearby (Constantia wine route, although Stellenbosch is better in my opinion), just walking or walking the dog in the many greenbelts and scenic areas, sailing if you have access to a yacht, or visiting the many amazing spots for coffee/ice-cream/lunch etc. We do all those things on rotation with our kids and they still complain there's "nothing to do." Many people just do a drive around the coastline too, especially on a clear day. I see they only did the "east" side and missed out on the opportunity to go around past Kommetjie, Noordhoek, and probably one of the more spectacular routes, Chapman's Peak Drive. But if they are going the other way, towards Strand/Gordon's Bay area, hopefully they take Clarence Drive, as that is truly breathtaking views. I grew up that side of the bay and now live on the side they visited. Both are incredible, but that far side is less built-up with houses. Also re Sharks-yes, there are Great White sharks in False Bay, and the ocean surrounding the Cape peninsula.
Eastern Cape is the most beautiful, in my opinion. My husband is from there and I lived there for four years. The people are super nice too
Go watch the Wales in De Kelders, Gansbaai and Hermanus. β€β€β€πΏπ¦πΏπ¦πΏπ¦
Ok, presumption number 1 is wrong – it is not winter time, it is summer time – we have a winter rainfall in the Cape, so in summer it is less green – in winter it is totally green – that would be around June July
It is also called False Bay because it can change on a dime – peaceful and calm and perfect to a storm in 30 minutes to an hour…you can get caught out at sea…
White is cheaper to fix – white is white – a chip in a car can be fixed cheaply or a wall painted cheaply, because the paint does not have to be mixed specifically…
Cape point is called Cape of Good Hope on the map.
Those are not guineau pigs, they are rock hyrax, called Dassies locally.
You really need to come and visit!
