I was a ghost. [Music] Now, if you’re looking to pimp up your Instagram feed in an instant, this is your one-stop shop. Now, if you don’t believe me, just ask the Kardashians, the Obamas, the Beckhams, Lewis Hamilton, Billy Isish, Sabrina Carpenter, and anyone else that uses celebrity or influencer in their title. Now us [Music] [Applause] Team Lab Planets will not only light up your social media feed, it’s also likely to blow your mind. This huge and utterly immersive digital art museum is in Japan’s capital city of Tokyo. Now I’m shining like a So the aim of the game is to get the same color from here to the end and then apparently the walls transform. So let’s go blue. Here we go. Oh. Oh god. Yeah. Almost. Found it. Every single exhibit in this otherworldly dreamscape encourages you to engage all of your senses. Most museums you go to, let’s say, they’re a bit snobby. So many rules. Don’t touch that. Don’t sit there. But at this place, it’s so interactive. You can touch everything. It’s incredible. Team Lab Planets is one of several permanent digital art museums within the Team Lab Collective. And with over 2 million visitors a year, it’s also the most visited. Something makes me want to sing TLC’s waterfalls. Chasing waterfalls. I’m not going to, though. [Music] Remember when I said this place was interactive? Well, this place is insane because I’m about to add my artwork to this wall already filled with everybody else’s art. So, if you don’t mind, artist at work. So, I’ve scanned my artwork and we’re about to put that up there. See, at the moment, I’m controlling my artwork. Not very successfully. I think I’m a much better drawer than I am pilot. This is amazing. Team Lab Planets completely transforms the traditional concept of what a museum should be. From walking through water in a digital koi pond to a garden where you become one with the flowers. We try to make of this new exhibitions try to make the people to feel of it our physical bodies to be one part of this artworks. This is 13,000 living orchid. 13,000 living orchids. Yes. It’s there. So, these aren’t fake. These are real. Yeah. That is why you don’t need a soil. It’s all real. This floating garden is a fan favorite. But each visitor has their own unique experience. People came here and taking it their own memories. It’s like an Instagram, Tik Tok, whatevers. This place is much more like like a platforms or a gardens. Everybody can be of this main characters. So like in everybody has its own journey stories. [Music] I see what they mean now when they say you get to immerse yourselves in the exhibits and nature. Let’s get wet. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, you enter the infinite crystal universe. Not sure how many times it’s appropriate to say wow, but wow. Wow. Wow. For all its interaction, Team Lab Planets is also educational. So, I just caught an elastherium. It was extinct 39,000 years ago, but I’m going to release it back to its natural screen habitat. Here we go. [Music] They clearly put all their time and effort into the exhibits themselves and not their names. Welcome to the ballroom. [Music] And as you’d expect from one of the biggest cities in the world, Tokyo offers endless accommodation options. Before I first came to Japan, I thought everyone had to sleep in capsules like this. But at Mimaru Apartment Hotels, it’s like an explosion in a space factory. Now all I need is a cactus swing. Watch me. There’s 15 Miramu apartment hotels in and around Tokyo. And with everything from Pokémon style rooms to modern two-bedroom family apartments, they really do have the whole family coming. The other great thing about Mimmeru Hotels is their location. They are so close to everything. convenience store in the building. There’s restaurants there and there and there and train stations both ways. [Music]

Tim stepped into an otherworldly dreamscape through themes of water, garden,
athletics and future in an experience that has captivated over 2 million visitors a year.
Every exhibit encourages full engagement, the aim is for people to feel their physical bodies become part of the artwork. For some of the areas you’ll remove your shoes and socks, others include physically challenging 4-dimensional works, or adding your own artwork to interactive installations,
creating your own unique memories and stories.
Some of Tim’s favourite experiences included the Floating Garden, 13,000 hanging real orchids, and the Infinite Crystal Universe, a breathtaking display of lights that seems to stretch on forever. Beyond
the sheer spectacle, teamLab Planets also offers an educational aspect, allowing visitors to interact with digital representations of extinct animals.
