Inside Beirutโs Most Dangerous Neighborhood โ What I Saw Shocked Me ๐ฑ๐ง
very dangerous. I’d say about Yeah.ย
And the dangerous city in Beirut, you know that there’s no Lebanese people. Zero. Wow. Look at all these cows. Yeah. Wow. Letย
me get through over here. I never expected Lebanon to have an area that looks like this.ย
And anyone come to you, he will fight with you and they know that you are Iranians. He willย
them. You’ll never see places like this anywhere else in Beirut. Look at the situation here.ย
They’re saying don’t film there. Yeah, they even the small kids. No, that’s not good. Howย
come the government doesn’t clean it up? No, the government. Let me see what I have. What’s up everybody? Welcome back to beautifulย
Bayroot. Today I’m taking you guys to a different neighborhood. We’re going through Sabra andย
Chhatila. It’s a neighborhood that’s been through a lot back in uh 1982. There was a bigย
massacre over here. So Chhatila was originally a Palestinian neighborhood. It was made forย
Palestinian refugees within Beirut. It’s a little bit south of all the nice areas that I’ve beenย
showing you guys. This is about a 10 15 minute drive south of that. 7 years after the civil warย
started. So it started in 1975. Lebanese factions got pissed off at the Palestinian factions.ย
They had some back and forth going on. The Lebanese faction came into the Palestinian refugeeย
camp in Chhatila massacred about on the low end people say 700 on the high end 3,500 people.ย
What’s even crazier is the Lebanese faction pretty much had the green light by the Israelisย
who were occupying Lebanon at that time. Also, Lebanon was a complete mess during those times.ย
Syrians involved in Lebanon. There was Israelis, they were fighting amongst themselves. It’sย
just complete chaos during those days. So, we are going to start off at Sabra Markets whichย
is mostly clothes in the beginning. They also sell fruits and vegetables [Music] and and I believeย
you could also find a lot of food over here. As you could see, it’s really chaotic, especiallyย
in comparison to the other parts of Beirut. This is my first time experiencing Lebanon like this.ย
Just bikes everywhere, cars parked in random places, in random directions, people walkingย
both on the sidewalk and the middle of the road. You’ll never see places like this anywhereย
else in Beirut. Especially if you’re a tourist, you really don’t have any business coming hereย
unless you’re into history and you want to see how it looks today. As you can see, freshย
fruit is sold over here. I’m not sure. So, is that 100 per kilogram? Yeah.ย
these apples over here, tomatoes, all fresh fruit. One thing you’ll notice, notย
just in this area of Beirut, you see garbage a lot. If I’m not mistaken, there’s an ongoingย
crisis with garbage disposal all around Lebanon. What’s he selling over here? Oh, he’s justย
selling meats. I don’t need meat. I’m actually really hungry. It’s early in the morningย
and I haven’t had breakfast or coffee yet. A lot of the clothing I can’t tell if it’s new orย
used. Some have tags on them, but most don’t. So, I guess it’s a mix of used and new. Likeย
over here, these all look brand new. If you guys are wondering the price, theseย
are 300 Lebanese pound, 600, and they even have clothes for 100. How are you? 150 Lebaneseย
pounds and ยฃ50. I think these are kids clothes. backpacks over here. The good thing isย
over here it doesn’t seem like you have to bargain too much because the prices areย
already listed on top of most the clothes [Music] over here. We got a serious traffic jam.ย
Got to love Lebanon. But they figure it out. Look at this chaos. Let me get you over here. I’ll go back. I’ll go back this way. Iย
was going to get in the middle of the chaos to give you guys a better view,ย
but my life is worth more than that. Man, I I’ll tell you guys the truth. Iย
never expected Lebanon to have an area that looks like this. Whenever I thinkย
Lebanon, I think beautiful beaches, beautiful people, amazing food, niceย
streets. But I never expected this. Wow. If you look, everyone’s hangingย
their clothes off over here to dry them. One thing I’ve noticed about Lebanon thatย
also shocked me, there’s a lot of workers here from South Asia. I’m not sure if they’reย
Bangladeshi, Indian, Pakistani. I’m not sure where they’re from. You could see them allย
over Lebanon. I did not expect that at all. Oh, wow. Look, there’s even a restaurantย
here. I think that’s Bangladeshi or Indian. I’m not sure what languageย
that is. Let me ask you, my friend, what kind of restaurant is it? Bangladesh.ย
Yeah, that’s a Bangladeshi restaurant. I just asked right when I was sayingย
there’s a lot of South Asians here, I walk by a Bangladeshi restaurant. You guysย
want to see chaos? Look at this traffic jam. Everybody’s going a different direction. Everybody in Bangladeshi, even this grocery store right now in this part of the market,ย
there’s no Lebanese people. Zero. I have no idea where to go. Let me go here.ย
I’ll go this way. I literally got stuck. I’m not sure how sanitary this place is, butย
there are flies and bugs everywhere. God damn. Holy, what a mess. All right, we areย
going to be leaving Bangladesh now and we’re going to be heading back towards Lebanon. Oh, this guy’s reversing. All right, we have to head this way over here. I did not expect this, guys. I’ll tellย
you the truth. I knew I was coming to a chaotic market. I just didn’t think inย
my head that there would be foreigners. I knew there would be Palestinians, Lebanese,ย
Syrians. Yes, they’re they’re not from Lebanon, Syrians, and Palestinian people, but they’reย
from the neighboring countries. I was not expecting to see so many Bengali people,ย
Indians, uh Africans, stuff like that. And then you make a right over here. I also seeย
a big mosque over there. I think Beirut’s one of those places where you might have theย
best time if you come in like May, June. September, October. If you don’t like the heat,ย
but if you’re fine with the heat and the light breeze at night, summertime is the time you wantย
to be here. Especially if you like to party, guys. I don’t know if you see, there’s fliesย
everywhere. This whole area is just infested with flies. There’s nowhere I’ve been inย
this market where I haven’t been slapped in the face by 10 flies. It’s crazyย
cuz a lot of these fruits and veggies actually look pretty good if you want myย
opinion. But they’re just full of flies. It’s been a while since I’ve been in aย
market like this. Just complete insanity. I would love to find a bakery. Maybe get aย
mane. Maybe cheese and zatar mix. I can’t do the zod by itself. I need cheese somewhere overย
there. What are you guys selling? You guys are selling What is that? That’s KF. Well, if I haveย
that right now, I have to go straight to sleep. Yeah, I think we’ve reached an areaย
that has food. These guys are selling different types of baklava and ka stuff likeย
that. Looks good, but it’s too early for me. Yeah, these all look like used clothingย
over here. You could tell which one’s used, which ones are brand new. Iย
would say it’s about a 50/50 mix. bread. Habib, you have manushe. Manushe la. Oh,ย
okay. Sh. See that young guys? What are they? 10 years old baking bread. Unbelievable the workย
they put in these young people. Everyone’s been pretty cool here, guys. No one’s told me to stopย
filming or don’t film. Usually in areas like this, sometimes you’ll get people that say, “Oh,ย
no filming this and that.” But everyone’s been pretty cool. If I make eye contactย
with people, I say good morning in Arabic, hit them with the habibi, and it’sย
all good. Look at the situation here. Look at that. Crazy. Wow. They’re going up myย
nostrils into my eye. That’s why I’m showing outwards the whole time I’m hitting myย
face. I don’t want you guys to see it. Yeah, it’s a it’s a completely differentย
Beirut over here. It’s almost as if you’re stepping into a different country.ย
The Beirut that most tourists see that you travel to when you see Beirut. Wholeย
different world, guys. Whole different world. Wow, look how I didn’t even notice all these birds down here. They’re so small. Oh,ย
they’re the size of your finger. All right, our walk continues.ย
We are going this way. Here we have two Lebanese girls leading the way. Look, this stand is for the African woman, Iย
believe. This is all the hair care products and stuff over here. Yeah. My friend, do youย
have Manushe? Manushe. Yeah. Yeah. Good. Right. Manushe. Yeah. Too hot. So hot. I see. Yeah. One.ย
Mush. Manushe. Zat cheese. become a cocktail. Half cheese, half z. If I eat too muchย
pizza, my kish. [Laughter] Yeah, exactly. Meet at one 100. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Thank you.ย
Are you sure? Yeah. Oh, thank you so much. Very good. Pizza. Right. Thank you so much, man. Nice meeting you, my friend.ย
Bye-bye. Excuse me. Sorry. This is here. Shhatilahatila. All Shhatila. Ah, Philistine. Yeah. You liveย
over there. Bangladesh. Yes. Yeah. They don’t like it, right? No. Like, it’s okay. Yeah. Yeah. Really? Really? Okay. I’ll be careful right now. Okay. Okay. Youย
got to keep it like like this. There’s always money on the ground. Isย
that yours? Money? No, no, no. No. Oh, okay. I keep finding money on the ground. I’mย
not going to pick that one up, though. Hopefully, somebody else does. How are you? Good, brother.ย
How are you? Sorry, my hands are good. You’re a YouTuber? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Just uh I just wantย
to talk to you when you be right there. Okay. Just take care over there. Why? Yeah, because they’reย
so burglars. Burglars? Yeah. They can’t take What’s this? What’s this area called? Uh, it’sย
called Sabra. What’s this area? Very dangerous. It’s about weapons. You’re kidding me. Yeah. Youย
can buy weapons, drugs, anything you want. Girls, you could buy drugs, women. Woman, too. Yeah.ย
This So, from here it starts in the dangerous city in Beirut. You know that? You’re kiddingย
me. Yeah. This is the dangerous city. The second dangerous city is Lei. Especially Le. What’s itย
called? Lei. Yeah. Really? Yeah. How are you, bro? I’m so YouTuber. How are you guys? [Music] How are you, bro? How are you? saying don’t film there. Yeah, theyย
saying they’re dangerous treat. Yeah, it’s very dangerous. Yeah, that’s why Iย
was stopping there. I want to tell you even the man was talking to you. He’s a heย
just No. Yeah. And he won’t. He was such a nice guy. Yeah. He bought me pizza. Yeah.ย
Because he he needs something, you know, but take care. So you’re you’re saying this wayย
be careful. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, English YouTube. No, don’t say that, man. Don’t say that, bro. That’s not nice, bro. Too much swearing, bro. Yeah. A R E D. Search. What? You guys thought I’m lying, bro? Hey. Hey,ย
tell him he swears too much. Thank you, bro. Anyways, nice to meet you, bro. Nice to meetย
you, bro. You live here? No, I live in How many country you visit? Yeah, no problem. Who toldย
you to come here? Myself. Because you know why? When people come to Beirut, they usually um theyย
usually go to the nice areas, which is good. You should always go to the nice areas. So they toldย
you that’s a s. No, no, no. I showed the nice all the nice. I want to take a picture with you. Isย
this one closer or is this main street closer? No. I’m walking you right there to the main street.ย
If you want, come with me. Okay. Okay. Y boys. Tell us he said anyone talk to you sayย
Ali. He’s so young. No. How old is he? No age. No problem. He know everyone here. Don’t worry. Okay. I’ll see you guys. Love you. Yeah, these guys are making it seemย
really dangerous over here. Hey, you want some minutiae? Haha. Are you sure?ย
Yeah. Did you have breakfast? Yeah. Yeah. Um you know the best uh places you can go. I liveย
there also. Not right now. I’m from S. S. That’s te right. Yeah. It’s Yeah. Sorry. It’s beautifulย
because see you can see the beach uh everything and you know anyone ask or open in location. Wow.ย
Look at all these cows. Yeah. Wow. Like this is what we are walking in. Yeah. They can uh haveย
the motorcycle take anything from you and go. You’re kidding me. Yeah. Even he can’t take fromย
you the phone. He he can put the gun on you. in your stomach gone. Yeah. Give me all your things.ย
You’re kidding me. Yeah. During the day, anytime, bro. Is that dangerous? The place you are in.ย
That’s why I when I saw you are talking English, I said that’s that’s not from here. Mo most peopleย
don’t know I’m English though. Everybody thinks I’m Arabic. Yeah. Because here look like uh so Iย
I say I want to stop you. I I tell you that take care from this street. You know these guys,ย
these guys who take picture with you and this these what what they are working this is drugย
dealers. Uh burglars. Is this area protected by a group of people or no? What kind of group? Ahย
mafia. Mafia. Yeah. Really? Yeah. Drug dealers, drug dealers. The the people that are stealingย
from people, are they Lebanese? Uh most of them Syrian. Oh, refugees. Yeah, refugees.ย
Okay. So these people here most of them are not Lebanese. Uh you can say that you areย
in Syria now. Syria not not Palestinian. Uh like inside there’s a little bit. Yeah. Iย
see the most people here are serious. Really? But I don’t know. But who tells you to come here?ย
Like no. You know why? I I I study history a lot. Oh yeah. So I know about Chhatil and Sabra. Yeah.ย
You know that. So I said come let me look around. Yeah. What happened before in Shatilan Sabra?ย
That’s why this place are so not good like drug dealers hostile dealers they leave them. Youย
know there is a place like a supermarket. Yeah. You can go and anything you want. Anything likeย
this. Yeah. Like this inside. You can see it, but if they saw you are filming, they will shootย
you. Shoot you. There’s lots of guns in Lebanon. Everyone, everyone here. You’re kidding withย
guns. Really? That’s problem. That’s what uh the country problem that everyone have a gun. Evenย
the small kids and they don’t use their hands. You talk to him. That’s not good. How come theย
government doesn’t clean it up? No. No government no government and they don’t know government theyย
just in media just money just in media and they’re all that what they care about is money is that itย
they don’t care about people is that it huh shahit you’re from Iran Iran yeah good Iran wellย
I’m from Canada born and raised in Canada but I’m originally Iranian obviously I’m notย
I’m not native Canadian or anything um Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. Serious? I know they don’tย
like Iranian. Yeah, that’s why he told you when he is he serious that guy? Yeah, he is. Yeah, that’sย
why when you told him Iran, he said they will like if you are in Sur and anyone come to you, he willย
fight with you and they know that you are Iranian, he will [ย __ย ] them. Really? Yeah. He willย
[ย __ย ] you. Really? Yeah. Because no Oh, because they’re all Shia, right? Yeah, I see.ย
I know everyone likes I see. I see. And he want talk to you there. They will kill him. Andย
in Beirut there’s a neighborhood of Shia too, right? Is it nice? D. I don’t know how you don’tย
come in D. Dah is is the if you study history, Dia is the most place got air strike from Israel. Wow.ย
Yeah. The most place in the world. More than Sur. More than Sur. Why? Yeah. Because uh Oh, becauseย
I see I see. Yeah. But and the problem is in here if you go in D and you are filming they won’tย
talk to you but they will come mean and they will Yeah. They will they will ask me who I am. Yeah.ย
Where you are filming. If I tell them I’m Iranian. Yeah. If you told them I’m from Iran and I’m I’mย
just a vlogger. Yeah. Uh and they will see what you are picturing. Yeah, they’re okay. Really?ย
They’re nice people. You can go there and take a permission. Really? Yeah. I want to to vlog. Uhย
but I don’t want anyone to stop me. So that’s why I’m I’m taking permission. So if they will giveย
you a paper, so anyone from stopped you, you will give him the paper, he will tell you. Okay. Thankย
you for the information. So this is the main road. Yeah. And it goes here too. Uh that’s the water,ย
right? This way. Uh Bahar. No. Uh the beach is uh Yeah, it is. I told you I know the wayย
better than you. Thank you. Take care, bro. Take care. Here is okay,ย
right? From here is okay now. Yeah, from here is okay. And I will tellย
you if you love to go any place nice, go to Alai. Allay is very Where’s Alai? Alaiย
is the mountain up. I heard I heard I heard the high I heard. Yeah. Not now in winter.ย
Winter time, right? Yeah. But like this. See? Let me see what I have. Sorry. Did I go? I I’ll Google it after. Yeah, Google it. All A L A Y. Hey, thank you for allย
your help today. Yeah, no problem. Honestly, thank you. No problem. I’ll see you around.ย
Yeah, thank you. Yala, I’m walking this way. You’re walking? Uh, I’m walking this wayย
to Ah, okay. Habibi, I’ll see you. Okay. [Music] 10-minute Uber ride later, we are back inย
safety, guys. We are back in a much calmer part of Beirut. The part that you’ll probably be inย
if you ever do visit here. I hope you guys got a little glimpse of the reality of different partsย
of this city. Obviously, when you’re a tourist, you have pretty much no business going to thoseย
areas. I read about the Sabron Chhatila massacre when it happened, so I thought I’d go see it inย
person. Turned out to be much more dangerous than I thought it would be. I knew there was going toย
be a lot of refugees and stuff like that. I just didn’t know it would be so dangerous after whatย
that local told me. First of all, that gentleman from Sur, he actually saved me. Literally like 30ย
seconds after I met him, a bunch of these Syrian kids came up to me and started asking me questionsย
in Arabic. He was there to help out. He told me, “They’re not fans of Iranians. They’re not fansย
of people with cameras, phones.” He’s like, “They’ll rob you.” He said, “You say a singleย
word.” He’s like, “They’re all strapped. Even the little kids, 14, 15 year olds, they’re allย
strapped.” Still to this day, as you guys saw, there’s tons of problems there. I hope one dayย
they could figure out how to clean it up. It’ll mean a lot to me if you subscribe to my channel.ย
It cost you nothing and it helps me out a ton. I’ll see you guys in the next one.ย
Goodbye from beautiful Lebanon.
In this video, I walk through Sabra and Shatila, two of the most well-known and challenging neighbourhoods in Beirut, Lebanon. These areas began around the Shatila refugee camp, originally established in 1949, and have grown into extremely dense urban districts home to Lebanese, Palestinian, and Syrian families.
Sabra and Shatila are often described as some of the toughest parts of Beirut, known for their crowded streets, busy markets, and difficult living conditions. This video shows a raw and unfiltered look at daily life inside these neighbourhoodsโfar from Beirutโs modern downtown and tourist areas.
I filmed this walkthrough to show the real street atmosphere, the people, the energy, and the reality that most visitors never see. Whether youโre researching Beirut, exploring Lebanon travel content, or interested in urban life documentaries, this video gives you an honest look at what itโs like here today.

Another correction no the garbage crises is done.
But u still see it sadly in these areas it not their country so they dont care. And in some muslim are as in Tripoli.
They are videos online from Lebanese Muslim complaining about the muslim areas why their pple dont clean as the Christians and Druze does.
Im Lebanese, never knew we have that here.
A similar camp of refugees was bombed just yesterday in saida
man iโm lebanese and never knew we have such places thats a joke
I wish people didn't trash their own communities. I don't have any issues with the drug dealers etc, but I do have an issue with people carelessly not taking care of their own homes/communities. If I was their government I would pay the poor people to clean up their own streets.
So? Are you going to visit Israel???
Admire your bravery. I would have turned back but you still kept going. Iโm glad you met a cool guy and ensured your safety
What an absolute hole
You seem like a really strange person, you don't blame your own country but call other countries dangerous, shame on you. ๐๐๐
Don't falsely defame Arab countries, your mind has been brainwashed by the venom of Western media.
hahaha I'm Lebanese and never seen or been in that place ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ palestinian camps are full of refugees
Habibi I am surprised you didnโt have a bullet proof vest on ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
I love how you really drive into any part of a city. We need to see you do a video showing the trash city in Egypt and comparing it to the new capital city where they are building luxury malls, hotels, Etc. would be a great series
As a Lebanese, who comes from a 'hood just next door to Sabra & Chatila, as a local guy I get a bit nervous there, even though I make sure I'm not wearing anything flashy or drawing attention to myself so I can blend in with seamlessly with the chaos there. It's overwhelmingly sad to see the living conditions there, and I'm literally next door with electricity, running water, wifi, air conditioning…I don't know what to say man. My country is fucked up. ๐ฑ๐ง
As a Lebanese I never knew this existed and I live in Beirut, I hope they destroy this place and kick them all out of the country
As a Pakistani ๐ต๐ฐโฆ. There was No Pakistanis ๐ต๐ฐ in that market ! Majority are Bangladeshi ๐ง๐ฉ or flies ๐ชฐ ! ๐๐ but one thing I noticed in my world travels Bangladeshis ๐ง๐ฉalways set up a small businesses
Let me get this right ๐๐ค๐งImmigrants come to Lebanon ๐ฑ๐ง for better life ! ๐ฎ๐๐ตโ๐ซ๐ซจ
Sabra is one of the poorest areas in LB in addition to a similar area in Tripoli (bab ettabane) .. the Government forgets (on purpose) to help these people .. at the same time you fill the kindest people in these areas
Go to Tripoli, all of it is like this.
I love Lebanon ๐ฑ๐ง is my favorite country โคโคโคโคโค
Lebanon does not have hoods. You are taking your brain washing with you
Lebanese Christian faction. Be specific. They were let in Sharon and muurdered
Thank you for your videos about Lebanon. Iโm Lebanese leaving abroad, yet Iโve never been to the Sabra and Shatila area, and I was honestly shocked by what I saw. I truly believe God protected you by sending that kind man to offer you precautionary advice. Wishing you all the best and continued safety.
YOU ARE BRAVE,I myself will never think of visiting such places in my own country,it's way too dangerous, even tho I love my country in every way๐ค๐ฑ๐ง
I donโt make comments that often and donโt know your channel, but I feel compelled to write out of concern for your safety. I grew up in Beirut and other cities in Lebanon around areas like this. What you did is extremely dangerous. As a teenager in high school in the 2000โs, we witnessed and heard of people get stabbed, gang-beaten, hit with cinder blocks on their heads, shot, and disappear. Rarely were people held accountable. I personally was attacked with a metal pipe one time when I was 15. While I know youโre interested in content, please stay away from these types of areas.
Bro you go to people in dangerous place talking to them in English as if they had the same opportunity as you to learn English ๐ and when he tells you anyone speaks to you just tell him you are with me then you tell him oh you too young for that, itโs good that you spent 5 mins there you knew on the 6th min your Iranian face will be messed up really bad ๐
If you visit Dora and Bourj Hammoud you will see lots of non Lebanese people, with lots of people asking for money but please before you leave, you should taste Mano and Bedo in souk bourj hammoud, and for sure Falafel Arax in Dora please go there and taste the delicious food
Tel7as tizi man , ta3a 3al tebene ya be5wash , 3amil 7alak class ya jerdon
sooo the 'refugees' turned it to a full shithole…
The Palestinians have had no justice by anyone on earth
The area Laylaki is being struck by israeli bombs, causing state of emergency
This place should be burned !
