Slow French Farmhouse Life in the Village of Saint-Èmilion | SIMPLY SLOW TRAVELER

[Music] Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel. In this time I am taking you on a day exploring a countryside paradise in the most picturesque area of the Bhu wine region, the beautiful Santon area. For a few days this autumn, I stayed in this beautiful house just 10 minutes driving from Santillion, surrounded by golden vineyards with a perfect autominal golden landscape all around called Mizun de Bruy. [Music] [Music] After admiring During the morning’s stillness and letting all its quietness fill me with pure joy for a good half hour, I started getting ready for a day full of beautiful experiences and explorations. [Music] I recently got my first few pieces from Lily Silk, a brand that I’ve been wanting to try for some time now. as it has the most elegant needs. I got a few Kashmir tops and a couple of trousers that I thought would allow me to create beautiful and comfortable looks to explore the Bondo region on this crisp autumn days in full style. I also got this beautiful bdu toned leather and silk moccasan which I thought add not only a very appropriate color but were also super soft and comfortable to spend a full day walking and exploring around. Meundro is a six-bedroom rental village that is as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. It was originally an old winery which has been recently renovated with such care that it seems to have been a family house for centuries now. [Music] When we got done for breakfast, the table was already fully set up and the team It also lit the fireplace, giving it an extra special cozy touch. [Music] Everything on the breakfast was absolutely perfect, but I especially loved the pastries, super fresh and very flaky, which the house team gets every morning from a pastry shop in the nearby village of Santillon. [Music] After breakfast, I went to sit in Danri with an amazing light and the most charming views of the vineyards in the church tower of the local town of Sristo and worked a little bit on a new project I am developing called simply slow mail. I spent a good couple of hours choosing the paper textures, the final colors, and getting all the final little design choices made so I can send everything for prototyping and present the final version to you guys soon. [Music] [Music] As lunchtime rolled around, we drove past the landscape covered in golden vineyards and into the charming town of Santillion, one of the most beautiful towns I have been to in France. The weather was a bit undecisive And the sun came and went constantly. But despite this, all the little corners of this charming town felt like a true stepping back in time dream. There are many amazing restaurants in Santa Million and we went and tried a few during our stay in the area which I will link to in the description box below. On this day, however, we went visiting the Cordier Closter, a charming historical place where they make sparkling wine and where we decided to sit for one of their picnics. In the summer, you can have the picnic right in the garden. But that it started raining a bit on and off, we sat under the arcs of the cloister, enjoying our snack over a glass of local wine, which was equally beautiful. [Music] Hey, [Music] heat. [Music] After lunch, we kept on walking around Santa Million and exploring the village, its picturesque corners, and its historical sites. Each of them so very charming. [Music] Yeah. Yeah. [Music] You guys [Music] As the end of the afternoon approached, we went back to Mizundo to do a wine tasting with the owner of the property. While we waited for the scheduled time, and as the light was absolute perfection, we went on exploring the house. And I’m leaving you with a full tour of its living areas and some of the six bedrooms. All of them so beautifully decorated with the most charming antique pieces and furniture. [Music] [Music] [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] We then went with David, one of the owners and the wine maker of the property on a tour of their vineyard, their winery, where we learned all about the history of the property, of their wines, and of the whole wine region of Santillon. It’s always my opinion. I think it’s always better. [Music] [Music] We finished the tour with the tasting of their wines, both the reds and whites. And I can tell you the whole visit is one of the best you can do in the region with David showing his passion for their wines, but also giving you plenty of advice and sharing his knowledge on the wines from other wine makers all around. [Music] As night fell, we went back to our room to get ready for a private chef dinner with the property owners. And I put on my favorite 100% cashmere cable knit sweater. So, you can imagine how soft it is that I got from Lily Silk. And then I matched it with this soft wool white pants. I found that this whole look was very elegant, perfect for an elevated dinner time, but it also ended up being so very comfortable to spend a whole evening in. [Music] [Music] After starting dinner with some delicious butters and fresh bread, Chef Julia prepared the most delicious and soft label hush salmon maki with pita caviar before moving on to a starter of lobster with smoked curry squash and then a main dish of dry age beef rib steak with bord sauce. [Music] which is how it’s supposed to smell. No, it’s not. [Music] Come on. [Music] to finish a meal where we had not only such delicious food but also an amazing time getting to know more about the property and its history. We had the fresh ships milk cheese course and then a very generous pear and earl gray pavlova with a pear earl gray ice cream. [Music] And just like that, we finished the perfect day at Misund.
