Skip Cassis and do it in the extreme south of Marseille where you’ll see an otherworldly archipelago with a cross at the tip, and a jutting island named Marie the locals call massif as it rises 430 meters above the sea. It’s a scuba diver destination and paddle boarders heaven as well as a great place for a hike to a restaurant on the sea as your reward.
