Anthem of the Seas! (We Were LOCKED Inside)
It’s snowing on our cruise and just a few like two weeks ago we were in 95 degree weather. Awesome. It’s snowing on the Bearing Sea. Who would ever thought that? Not me. [Music] We’re on our last and final stop of our cruise and we’re in Hikotate, Japan. And uh just walking down this street. This is a much smaller town that we’ve been to. It’s nice. And uh just got done eating a good lunch at the local McDonald’s. Had to try it. I got one of their uh Japanese specialty menu items. I guess it was a a teriyak chicken burger and it was actually really good. And so now we’re just walking down and enjoying Hikotate. And it’s very interesting these towns that we’ve been in have these loud speakers. They just broadcast stuff. what they are crabs and that’s a neat little Yeah, I guess they’re commercials. Here we go. We’re walking. Very [Applause] interesting. But this is what small town Japan looks like. Pretty cool. Hello everybody. [Music] Wonderful. Very, very good. We’ve made it to Hadaka. uh ropeway that’s taking us up to the top of the mountain for overview of the city. And what a view though. Wow. [Music] made it up to the top and it sure is windy. Nice view. Now, Vanessa and I have found our way up to a what they call a tea room up here at the top of the mountain. Funny thing is, it has no tea. So, make it that of what you will, but we have ordered two nice Japanese Saporro beers and we are enjoying just an absolute fantastic view as we’re sitting up here. Restaurant just opened, so we have the whole place to ourselves. We’re just going to sit up here and relax and we’ll show you a few views. What about that view for a couple beers? [Music] We made our way down to a local market area that’s on the water and they’re just converted old warehouses which is pretty cool. It’s really nice out there. So, let’s see what’s in the next one. Uhoh, a pastry. I’m in trouble. Oh, wow. There’s a lot of stuff going on in here. Thank you, All right, it’s our first day in the Pacific making the crossing and I we uh rock and rolled all night last night and came up this morning to get in the hot tub and it’s raining. It’s about 45° outside. The winds are blowing at 35 knots and we have 6 to 7 foot seas right now. So that’s how we started our crossing. Hopefully it gets better, but it’s not bad at all. It’s a big old ship. It can handle it just fine. I’m going to sit right in here. enjoy a nice hot tub. Finally, the decks are open. The waters are calm as we get closer to entering the Baron Sea in the uh tip of Alaska. So, boat is much smoother. You see the waves are much more calm. It’s freezing out here. It’s about 32°, but it’s nice to get outside for just a few minutes. Here we go. Six points so far. sailing the North Pacific Ocean. The current depth is 5,000 m or 16,400 ft with the closest land being the coast of Russia at a distance of 30 nautical miles on our port side. We will continue to sail on a northeasterly course towards the Aleutian Islands. Last night we experienced adverse weather conditions. We had seas around 6 m or 20 ft, winds up to 70 knots. We are currently on uh schedule for our Seattle arrival. Our current plans are to continue proceeding north of the Aleutian Islands and pass through the south of Bering Sea. Awesome. We are expecting another low pressure system awaiting us in the Ving Sea. Nice. We are currently monitoring this storm system with our weather team in Miami. We will update you on daily with the weather and the weather for today. Currently, we have overcast and rainy conditions. We have winds from the east up to 40 knots which can be felt from the starboard bow. sees up to 6 m or 20 ft and the current temperature is 4 Celsius or 39 Fahrenheit. This evening we are expecting winds up to 30 knots and seas up to 5 m or 16 ft. These conditions are expecting to continue throughout the night. the right way to sit. There you go. Good morning everyone. It is 4:45 in the morning on Saturday, no Sunday, and I’m up at the front of the ship. could not sleep at all last night and so I’ve been up since 3:00. But anyway, this is the view out of the front of the ship. Uh think this is going to be our last full day in the Bearing Sea. So I at least want to try to get up and see sunrise. But as you can see, it’s foggy with snow squalls and it’s 32° outside. Fun fun. Okay, you can see right now it is actually snowing. There’s actually snow on the deck, snow on the chairs. I don’t know if you it comes out in the video or not, but it’s real fine snow, but it’s actually coming down pretty hard. Wow, this is crazy. It’s snowing on our cruise and just a few like two weeks ago we were in 95° weather. Awesome. It’s snowing on the Bearing Sea. Who would ever thought that? Not me. Good morning. And we’ve got land for the first time in 12 days. And we’ve just entered into the straits between the United States and Canada heading down to Seattle. Right now you’re seeing the United States. And then I’ll turn around over here. I remember. And there’s Canada. And our favorite bar is back open now. It was open for the first time yesterday because the weather was good. It is sunny and 55°. And there’s already been two well sightings. We’ve not seen any yet, but we hope to as we get further into the channel. We’ve seen six new countries. We’ve sailed 8,000 miles. We’ve been in three different seas, one ocean, the international date line, and we finally made it to Seattle. [Music] Well, we’ve made it to Seattle. Here’s the skyline. See the Space Needle? We’re getting ready to dock. [Music]
