Hello friends! Today we are heading to Ludwigsburg Palace. It is located in southern Germany, not far from Stuttgart. The palace belonged to the Dukes of Württemberg — especially to Eberhard Ludwig. Construction began in 1704 as a small hunting residence. But over time it grew into a massive baroque palace complex. For now, enjoy a short preview of what you’ll see in this video. Every autumn this place hosts the world’s largest pumpkin exhibition. It has been held for over 20 years, and each year has a new theme. In 2025 the theme is “Big Cinema”. You’ll see giant pumpkin figures of Charlie Chaplin, Harry Potter, Star Wars characters and more. Now let’s dive into the story of this remarkable palace. Duke Eberhard Ludwig dreamed of a magnificent residence and made that dream come true here. The palace combines baroque, rococo and classicism — like traveling through three eras. Inside you’ll find museums: ceramics, fashion, a baroque gallery and an old palace theater. The theater is unique — its original stage machinery still works today. Now we head to the Märchengarten — the Fairytale Garden. There is also a boat ride along a small fairytale canal. It’s one of the most beloved children’s attractions in the park. You’ll see magical houses, moving figures and familiar fairytale scenes. Over 40 fairytales come to life here — Rapunzel’s tower, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and many more. Now back to the 2025 Pumpkin Exhibition. It takes place from August 23rd to November 2nd. The sculptures are created by the masters of Jucker Farm — using thousands of pumpkins. There are also competitions, giant pumpkin weigh-offs, workshops and shows. You can try pumpkin soup, stews, pastries and even pumpkin sparkling wine. After the exhibition, the glowing dream paths remain — an evening walk with lights and music. The palace gardens are a true masterpiece of baroque landscaping. Perfect geometric shapes, bright flower beds, calm ponds and fountains. It’s especially beautiful at night, when everything is illuminated. The palace is remarkably preserved — it has barely suffered throughout its long history. It is one of the largest baroque residences in all of Europe. Thank you for watching!
