The Best European City For Solo Travelers: Dubrovnik, Croatia

I’m on my first solo trip to Eastern Europe. This is day three, four, and five in Dubnik, Croatia. The best thing about solo traveling is you can do what you want when you want. So, these next couple of days was important for me to just relax, rest, and explore at my pace. I ate at amazing local cafes. Then, I explored the town. As some of you may know, some scenes of Games of Thrones was shot here, so I decided to take my own little guided tour. Dubnik is such an iconic place to explore, especially for medieval lovers. On every street, you can find so many beautiful churches with so much history. I’d recommend staying in the old town at least a couple days at the beginning of your trip to really explore the town and get a feel for the culture. I went during Easter season. I happened to run across a beautiful church that was holding mass. That was so beautiful. I’m so glad I got to experience my first mass in Croatia. The next day, I packed up and headed out of the old walls and into my next accommodation. I love moving to a different part of the city to get a different experience, especially if I’m traveling for more than 7 days. This hotel was absolutely stunning and I will have a hotel tour as well as an Airbnb tour just to give you options on which accommodations best suits you. After I settled into the hotel, I explored my surroundings and over the next couple of days, I really just relaxed, ate, and enjoyed my own company. It’s okay not to be go go go and fill every moment with things to do, especially if you’re solo. That’s the beauty of solo travel. You can make your own travel plans, cancel those travel plans, and still feel good about doing what you wanted to do.

Exploring Dubrovnik solo was one of the best experiences of my travels! From walking the ancient city walls overlooking the Adriatic Sea to discovering hidden beaches and cozy cafés tucked inside Old Town, Dubrovnik is the ultimate destination for solo travelers looking for beauty, peace, and connection.

In this vlog, I’ll take you through my favorite moments — sunrise views from Mount Srđ, swimming in crystal-clear water, wandering the cobblestone streets, and meeting friendly locals who made my trip unforgettable. Whether you’re traveling alone for the first time or planning your next solo escape, Dubrovnik offers the perfect mix of safety, history, and adventure.

  1. I never associated Croatia as eastern Europe really, it's more Mediterranean influence and seaside vibe. They have a language like us but in many ways are quite different. The Balkans are really something unique to Europe
