Driving in Germany: Autobahn A31 from Gescher to Bottrop

In this video you can ride along on Autobahn A31 from Gescher to Bottrop in the West of Germany. The A31 is an Autobahn that runs in parallel to the border with the Netherlands and mostly has no speed limit. From my experience, having driven this Autobahn multiple times, on average people tend to drive quite fast here.

It’s a fairly ‘boring’ Autobahn in terms of scenery. It runs through the flat areas of the states Niedersachsen and Nordrhein-Westfalen. Bottrop is a city with close to 100.000 inhabitants in the northern part of the Ruhrgebiet. Here the A31 connects to the A2, which connects the Ruhrgebiet with Berlin in the East.
