The World’s BEST Beach Is In SPAIN (But It’s Clothing Optional)
The north of Spain has been full of surprises, and this week we explore the west of Galysia. We stumble across incredible places and take a ferry to a beach that’s ranked among the world’s most beautiful. And it didn’t take long for it to become one of our top spots in Spain. No one but two mergers. I just want to clarify. Yeah, both burgers are on our way to our next destination. There is a little camper van area behind us. We have fresh water. We’ve emptied all our water, everything. And this place even has showers. So, we’re going to go in. We’ve parked the Big Blue up. We’re going to go have some showers and then move on to our park up for tonight. This place has so such good reviews. I’m going to fix my hair in the van. Feels so nice to have a proper shower, but the shower we have here is proper as well. But it was just so nice to shower in general. The woman in there was so nice and the showers were spotless. So, I highly recommend that place. We’re going to leave it here so if you’re around you know about it because it’s just so handy. And now we’re just making our way to Aro. We’re going to park by a beach. Looks really nice. Hopefully we can start to get nice sunsets soon because with the storm we haven’t been able to enjoy west sunsets which we love and haven’t seen in a couple of years. So we’re really looking forward to them. We have made it to our park up here for tonight in Agroe and we literally have our own private beach right there. This place is absolutely beautiful. We haven’t been to Agro in 3 years. 3 years. It’s so cool to have our own little private beach right outside the sliding door of the van. We even have our own volleyball net. We didn’t have a ball. I know that’s something we should carry. We have to get a volleyball. You can really tell that this is a summer town. There is nobody here and all the houses. There’s big houses that probably rich people from Madrid own. And they are all empty and they probably only come here during summer. So at the at the minute, we have the place to ourselves. And Shane is already leaving me. He’s sick of me. I thought you were leaving me. No, just try to get your your little head leveled. Okay, that should be good. Yeah, that for a view, eh? Our own private beach at the back of the big blue box. This is what I do in van life this time of year is so good over here because you beat all the crowds, nobody is about and you have places like this all to yourself, which is absolutely amazing. So the plan for today is basically an admin day. We are going into the town of Aro and we’re going to get our washing done and then probably we’ll come back here, get some work done on the laptop and then hopefully get into the sea. It’s very cold, but we’ve done worse than this. So this here is our new addition to the van build. It’s from Littleles and is where we throw our dirty clothes. Just lifting the bed up. They just fall in here. It’s so handy. And I could just carry it to the laundromat. It’s actually used for gardening. Is it? I think it’s like for picking up leaves or something. But now it’s for dirty clothes. Sir, do you come here often? Every day waiting for you. That’s all the leaves picked. Now, let’s go back to the van. So, we’ve parked up the big blue bus again in the same area where we slept last night. Last night, we slept literally just couple of meters down that way. But we found this other little spot and the water looks amazing. Shane, of course, is already down there. And when we were parking, we actually had a bit of a scare with this low branch. It was hitting the big L. We actually thought it damaged our solar panel, but thankfully it’s all good. So, what a park up. So nice, isn’t it? Wow. This looks like Mayor York or something. Shane is trying to cook curry in the van for the first time. So, for the first time in the van and for the first time really in your life. Have you ever made a curry? No. So, what a better place to cook curry for the first time than by this lovely beach in Galysia in the van. How’s things looking? They’re not. Hopefully Shane’s curry turns out somewhat decent and I’m not sick again. Take that to a slow simmer. I have to say this curry has to turn out better than I expected. So, I’ve never made it inside the van. Never made it in my life. So, it’s turned out pretty good. But what a view to make our dinner to. This place is incredible. See, we’re at a bit of a a slope here. So, all the curries to one side of the saucepan. Spicy. See? Oh god. Joy. You don’t like not spicy. Good morning, guys. Today has been another admin morning. We’re just catching up with work after being sick for like a week. I have so much to do. It’s unreal. But here we have Shane doing some stretches. Relax. And you have like an hour or so to drive. Let’s go. We have fallen in love with this park up. Is so quiet, which is lovely. And Shane is perfectioning his technique. I got me a whistle. He’s using an acorn. So, we’ve made it to the very top of BO and there’s a lot of parrots around this car park. It’s so cool. The drive wasn’t too bad to be and it feels like we are in nature but we are quite close to the center of BO and something I had forgotten about BO is that it has load of Christmas lights. The mayor in this town goes crazy and it wants to have the most Christmas lights in all of Spain and I don’t know if wants to beat some record in Europe or something like that. So maybe I don’t know if they are on yet. So hopefully tonight we can walk around and look at all the Christmas lights. Shane loves Christmas and he’s always upset because in Spain it doesn’t feel like Christmas. So I’d say he’d like that. This park up is getting pretty full already. There is more and more camper vans arriving. So I think we arrived just at the right time. So one of the best features we have added to the big blue bus is a reversion camera. And we are delighted to have Autoox as this week’s video sponsor. Legends. In the past you have seen us install and use Autoox reversion cameras on our camper van. And honestly they have been a game changer. Whether you want to use them as a reversion camera, a dash cam or a security camera, they are incredibly easy to install. So, this model right here is the Solar 3A Plus, and we use it as a reversion camera on the Big Blue. And the best thing about it is how easy it is to install. It is completely wireless, so no wires whatsoever. This is good if you have your van already built. You don’t have to worry about running wires or anything. It just completely wireless. All you have to do is figure out where you’re going to put it. It comes with 3M double-sided tape to mount it. So, you just stick it on and that is it. That is all you have to do to install it. So, in another 30 seconds, you have the system installed inside your van. Now, you might be wondering, if there’s no wires, how is it powered? Well, the best thing about it is this little guy right here is a solar panel. So, when you have it mounted, the sun is keeping it charged. So, you don’t have to worry about getting it charged. So, guys, moving into the front of the van, it comes with this 7.2 in screen. And now, you might be wondering if the screen’s in here, how is it connecting to the camera at the back if there’s no wires whatsoever. Now, it does connect wirelessly. So, on top of this little screen, you have these little antennas that you screw into place, and that just allows it to pair with the camera at the back. Even if you have quite a large motor home or a trailer or a caravan, it doesn’t matter. So, all you have to do is connect it up. You have your wire that comes with it. You run it around your van, wherever you want to run it to, and it comes to this cable right here that you connect up to your 12vt port inside your van, and that powers the screen. And the solar panel is powering the camera at the back of the van. So, these Autoox cameras are 1080p HD quality, which is absolutely fantastic. And a cool feature of them, they have brilliant night vision. So, it’s perfect for these shorter days when you’re getting to your park. Honestly, you still want to reverse into your park without hitting anything, you can still use these cameras because they are brilliant in the dark. So, right now and until the end of November, Autoox is having the Black Friday sale and they are having the biggest discounts of the year. And for an even bigger discount, use our code Shane and Nanny for an extra 20% off or scan this rather impressive looking QR code to get yourself one of these Autoox cameras at the lowest price. So, thanks to the legends at Autoox for sponsoring this week’s episode. Now, let’s continue with the video. Let’s go for a West sunset. It looks amazing. There’s too many trees. We can’t really see it, but you can see it in the trees. Everything is red. And we’re very excited because we are going to start getting wet sunsets very soon. What we’re not excited about is the evening’s getting so dark. Wow, look at the sunset. Wow. Right beside the park up there’s a castle. Here’s the castle wall. There’s even a cannon here. So, we are hoping to be able to get up on the walls to be able to see sunset. Oh jeez, there’s a rat. Oh, what? Look, watch this, Shane. Oh my god, look at that. They are so nice. You cannot beat a west sunset. And we can actually see the islands where we are going tomorrow. They are literally there. Well, it takes like 40 minutes to get there by ferry. But the islands are right there. The port in huge. It’s actually giving us vibes of like the Bilbo port when we got off. When did we get off? It’s been like nearly a month. Yeah, it feels like this trip has been forever cuz we’ve done so much. But yeah, it’s only been a month. We have to cancel it. Yeah, we are moving our ferry wag. We’re pushing it. We’re staying longer. Let’s have a look at what the car park looks like. It is quite late. A lot of cars have left, but there’s still few vans. So, we are maybe like 10 vans, which is really nice when you’re parked up in a city. It just makes you feel safer, especially when tomorrow we are going to be leaving the big lilus here all day. So, it’s good that there’s camper vans around. But for being in a city as well, this park up is very quiet. You’re like in this park and you’re like at the very top of the city, so there’s no noise. So, I think we’re going to be in for a good night. Good morning, guys. The van is all packed up. We are ready to go. It’s about a 25-minute walk down to the port to get the ferry over to the islands. And as you can tell, it is a glorious day here in Spain. The sun is shining. Our solar panels should be powering everything by the time we get back from the islands tonight. Everything should be fully charged. So, let’s go hit the road and make our way down to the port. So, we’re just walking down to the port. And it’s crazy to think amount of Christmas lights up already in this town is absolutely insane. They’ll be on in like a month. So, I’d love to see them, but you don’t want me to drive back. A bit early. I’m sure we might. Might stay. We’ve got our tickets. We have to make our way to pier number four and get on the boat. It’s going to be a good day. So, we saw this crowd behind us and we’re like, crap, we’re late. But turns out that’s for a different company. We’re going for a different company. Just look at the amount of people. Look at our people. We’ve come from in the last ones to being in the very first ones. I was thinking I was like we are not even late. I thought we were on time. But no. Yeah, we are early actually. So I think our key not in not too much time. It’ll be like that or it just be us. Imagine that’ll be cool. It’s been 5 minutes and we are still the only ones. I am starting to question if we are at the right part of the port. If this is the right pier or where is she? I don’t know. I think if someone doesn’t come in another 5 minutes, we go back to the office and ask. Yeah, because after everything we get here and then we miss the boat. That would be like the biggest fail. I see groups of people coming. I think that could be our comrades for the ship. Oo, hopefully. Yeah, there’s about five or six of them. Okay. Okay. So, we should be all good. We should be good. Made it up top here in the boat. It’s a bit strange cuz there’s tables up here and like it’s hard to get a seat without a table, but the sun up here is lovely. I’d say maybe when we move it’ll start getting chilly, but so far I’m loving this. The ferry to the Theas Island took 40 minutes from Migo. And when we arrived to Rodas Beach, which was classed as a world’s top beach, we just couldn’t believe our eyes. Just 2 minutes off the boat, we’ve come across this little natural pool and it’s full of fish. You can see them so well from up here. I’m so looking forward to snorkeling. Hopefully, we actually can manage to get into the water because we are in the middle of the Atlantic. I think the water is at like 13°. So, I think that might be even too cold for us. Have you ever seen water like this? No. This place, it feels like paradise. It’s so untouched. And the fish here and the water, everything is just amazing. We’ve just come across this sign and it says 2 km until the lighthouse. So it was three and a half in total. One and a half done, two left. And they are the toughest ones. How you getting on, Shane? Struggling. Yep. We’re probably 2 km into the hike. One and a half left to go. Good thing this place is absolutely beautiful. Yeah. So nice and it’s so quiet. That’s the good thing about doing van life this time of year. Yeah, in summer you have to like book in advance because this place is jammed. You have to book at least a month in advance and even at that you’re not guaranteed you can get here. You have to ask for permission in the like get to the town hall. We booked this two days ago. Yeah. Our first stop here in the CS island in the yellow rouge that we are doing is Pedra Campa Stone. And this has been naturally carved by the wind and just the salty environment. And I can see an elephant and we’re just having a bite to eat because this hike is tough. And today the sun is very strong. So we needed a wee break. And Jane is having a marana sandwich. I have one as well. And something very important about this island is there’s no bins anywhere. So you have to take a little rubbish bag with you to make sure you take everything back to the mainland. So, let’s take a five minute breather before we make it to the lighthouse. Guys, this is a tough enough hike. Just constant of hell. But we are nearly there. The lighthouse is up here. You can’t even see it. Is that steep. There’s like a zigzag hill up to it. But oh my god, we keep saying it, but the views from up here are out of this world. These have to be one of the nicest views I’ve ever seen. I’m just looking forward to that water. We are nearly there. You can’t even see the lighthouse yet. We actually still have a bit to go. I think I spoke too soon. We made it. After a tough two-mile hike in the sun, we made it to the highest point of the island, and the views were just out of this world. We took a welldeserved break admiring the views. So, we’ve made it down to the sign that says 2 km to the top. And now is when we can cut off. Time to go to the beach. And head to the beach. It doesn’t feel like we are in Spain. Even like the trees and everything, it’s just changed completely. Oh, it doesn’t feel like Spain at all. But this place is absolutely unbelievable. For what? €22 each to get out here. Yeah. You spend the whole day. You couldn’t go wrong. And it’s a Sunday. And nothing opens on a Sunday. So yeah. Well, you what were you going to do anyway? You want to sit in Spain doing nothing. So you might as well come to the islands. These are amazing. So, let’s go. The beach is just down here. Let’s go jump in the water and see what we can see. Hopefully, it’s not too cold. I don’t know if you can see how clear this water is, but oh my god, doesn’t this beach look like Hawaii or something? Not that I’ve been to Hawaii, but this is how I picture it. White sand, blue water. Oh my god. We’ve set up camp there and now it’s time to see if we can make this freezing cold water. Shane is already in. And his face is not very promising. Is it cold? Yeah. He’s going to test the water for me. Wow. Yeah. I don’t think I can do this. I want to get in. I don’t want to come to the the islands and not get in. But it’s so cold. Oh my god, the water. I’ve never seen water as clear as this. That seagull is laughing at you. That seagull is actually laughing at you. And look how clear the water is. I don’t think we’ve ever been on a beach where the water was this clear. You coming in, daddy? I want it, but it’s so cold. So, this beach has been rated as the top beach in the world according I think the Guardian and many other rankings. And I think you can clearly see why this island has amazing beaches. They There’s very few people at least at this time of year. It’s end of October at the moment and yeah, I’ve never seen water as clear as this. The sand is so white. This place is amazing. The only thing is that there’s something very weird in the water. What is this? It’s only me. You’re the island’s monster. Yeah. Look, N. No, no, no. Please. You’re so hot. Wow. Wow. Okay. This is like the coldest water I’ve ever done cuz we are out in the Atlantic. That beach was amazing. Now it’s time to go back to the docks. Well, it’s like a weep here to get the boat back to the mainland. It’d be the biggest fail if we miss the boat back because there that’s the last one. Yeah. Really? Just camp at the end. Yeah, that could be quite good. So, it’s currently 10 4 and the boat is at half 5. So, there should be plenty of time. So, just take it easy cuz I don’t know you, but I’m wrecked. Oh, my feet are killing me. After that hike and then swimming in that freezing cold water. Oh, I I can already see myself having a little snooze in the boat coming back. Yeah, but you know the worst thing is you have to walk 40 minutes back to the van. We are already planning on perhaps getting like a taxi or something to the van. We still have 1 hour left before we make it to the boat. But we’re back here admiring all these little fish. They’re so good. This is like an outdoor aquarium. But we were reading on the signs that this island was formed 370 million years ago. Absolutely mad. And to think we’re standing on it today 370 million years later. So our boat has just arrived. There’s so many people to get off the island. For a second I thought we were all in the same boat and I was like, how are we doing this? There’s another one coming in like 10 minutes. So we’re going to get on board and I think I’m just going to snooze cuz I’m so tired. Get me off this ferry. It’s been an hour because we stopped somewhere else to let 12 people off. Oh my god. All 12. 12 people got off and we are about 100 going to Vo. So, we’re entering the harbor, but it’s just this boat is so loud. I’m looking to get an Uber back to the van. So, we’ll be going back in comfort. So, walk around the port for a little bit and then get an Uber back. We’ll be a Uber back. Yeah. So, our Uber is called Danielle and he’s coming in well, he’s one one kilometer away, so hopefully he’s here soon. Who are we getting Ubers and everything? See if our feet. I am so sorry, honestly. We are back at the Big Blue Bus. What a day. Such a good experience out on the island. We are so tired after walking 7 km uphill in that heat and everything. So, let’s go back inside the van, hit the hair, and we’ll see what we get up to tomorrow. The access to it is not the easiest. It’s not too bad. Hang on. So, Portuguese all of a sudden. Whoa. Big blue. made it to particle.

Super vlog guys, what an experience you are both having. That beach is unreal (on the island), some day I will visit for sure…. 🙏
"absolutely amazing" sounds like a good catchphrase Shane 👍🏻
What a fantastic place, you are right, you are definitely there at the right time of year.
Northern Spain 🇪🇸 is at the top of my bucket list 👍🐸
Fantastic video
This is called living the dream
Beautiful place
Love watching you two, so glad you popped up on my feed. Fingers crossed I'll get my VW camper down to Spain next year, but in the meantime I'll have to take watching you guys from a cold and wet England. Take care and thanks for sharing your travels.
Must go to Spain. Living the dream
Hi guys, we've been watching your show for a few years now. I do have to let you know, that some of of your links make no sense. The one in vigo comes up as //fine.bonus.floating.
If you get a chance, there's a place called Baiona, very amazing spot
Fantastic adventure to that beautiful Island you two. Your first attempt at cooking curry looked very good Shane. At Mercadona I buy the 2 Vacuno Patties by Gruesa for €4.90. 🍔🍔. Nicest burgers ever in Spain. This Thursday is 🍕2 x Telepizza Familia Dias Pepperoni Pizzas 🍕. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the video excellent. Hype also. Will Shane make it home for Christmas?😂😂
That was so nice the water was so clear that's amazing
Love O'Grove, we spent a few summer holidays there!
Did a trip to Spain had 2 weeks in Benidorm in sept 25. Was away for a month altogether in my motorhome lily. I’m going to Monaco for the racing in June 26 then back across to Spain. Benidorm or Malaga for 2 months before returning to the uk again 😉👌
lovely parkups and Cies looks really nice! i been researching if i can bring my T3 over and then i realize how strict the MOT/ITV is in Spain, cant do any mods! and how hard is it to navigate around the ZBEs?
Having a great time
Great vlog. Just used your code for Auto Vox. Thank You 😁🚐
That island looks amazing, will have to look into that. I spent some time in Galicia a few years back in the campervan on a surf holiday, it was amazing. I went in September when you'd think the water would be warm but it was so cold, even in a wetsuit, would definitely recommend a winter suit if surfing. Beautiful beaches though and the people are amazing, it really isn't how you typically imagine Spain, couldn't compare it to anywhere really.
Looks great. Just hyped you ❤😊
Lovely vid Ane is a star.
What a fantastic place.having a great time. Great video
Love the crystal waters, and 🏖 on the island is amazing ❤ … ok, it's better than Connemara beaches 🤔😉😂🏖
Loving these all areas hoping to visit next year been pausing and pinning locations in Google maps as see them.
Usually I find content creator ads annoying, but that Camera with solar and wifi is actually pretty good. I must get something like that before I start vanlife!
Stunning views guys, the view from the lighthouse is lovely. Ane its great to see you feeling better. Brill video.👍👍👍
Hyped ✌️
Shane, Ane, ive just found out about N.I's Christmas Chips….. yes please, with a topping of Wesleyan and cranberry!!! think ill make it myself, poss with sprouts, replacing ham with bacon.
That island looks amazing, we'll definitely have to try and get there some time.🤞 Glad to see the trip is going well.
Cheers, Liam
If the Xmas lights are out already in Galicia. Is it to early to wish you both a Feliz Navidad!! 🇮🇪🇪🇸🚐🌲🧑🎄🎁
Nudism is legal on all beaches in Spain, except in a few instances where there are restrictions imposed by local government/councils etc. However, nudists tend to avoid beaches where 'texile' holidaymakers dominate.
Had couple autovox ( collabs)but sadly all failed due to connection issues after short times – few months😢 … Customer service is not good..
Those plastics on side of van if u use boiled linseed oil works an absolute treat
