Angouleme 2025
So, we are on an NW TGB. We’re going very fast. I got chips. Croak manure lemon cake and the low n and utensils. A comfortable lock. Love it. Kiss your puppy. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Hey, hey, hey. Come back down. All right, it’s our first full day in Angulan. We had kind of a mixed night of sleep results. I think we had a little too much wine before we went to bed. So, we both got really hot, but the room was nice and cool because the walls of this house are like I don’t know, probably 2 ft thick stone. So anyway, we are rested enough and Sam is still upstairs, but we are about to head out and go get some coffee and maybe a pastry and then go to our very first maybe not our very first uh we’re going to go to a a flea market, Bant. And we’re very excited. I am I’ve been waiting for this for like literally months. So very excited. And but I wanted to show you around outside first. So here’s our cutie little French front doors with the shutters. And what they did is they took a wing of their house and turned it into a little um Airbnb. But that’s the main house where Olivier and Sandrine live and the front gate how we get out. But we can also go up onto that little balcony. So I’ll show you now. So the wisteria is mostly in charge of the stairs. So we have to kind of crawl underneath and duck. But I’m sure it’s magical when it’s blooming. And then Okay, here we are. We’re across from a school and you can kind of see way out there how everything is lower. We’re on like the very top of like a large hill and uh the rest of the town is down below, but the old town is up in the on the high ground. So, here it is. Just the right amount of outdoor space. Walking to the flea market. Yeah, I think that’s it. All right. Well, we got one one prize. Yes, we did. We see a huge queue over there, but we’re not entirely sure what it’s for. We think maybe it’s a butcher shop, but I don’t know. Uh, but this is our long awaited souvenir. We’ve wanted one ever since we visited Lour at Versailles, and now we have one that says Angulim because that’s where we are indeed. €10uro. 10 euro. Hey Oh man, that’s amazing. Okay, so where are we? Uh, we’re at the food hall. I can’t remember what it’s called, but it is hopping. Yeah, it’s bumping. We’re actually sat down at a food hall. I don’t know if they can hear me, actually. Oh, okay. Yeah, it’s uh it’s a very busy place and we’re we walked around the whole perimeter and there’s equal part vendors selling fresh food, whether it be pork or seafood or vegetables or candid things, but then an equal number of vendors that are selling food to order either as takeaway or to sit down and eat. So, we’ve just ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and some beers, and we’re going to have a little lunch. All right. Well, we just checked out of our Airbnb, which was lovely. Uh, it’s been raining all evening and it’s it’s pretty wet out right now, but we decided to get going. We have train tickets uh for 4:00 today, but we had to check out of the Airbnb. It’s now like 10:30 and rather than sitting around just killing time cuz there’s not a lot open on Mondays here apparently. So, uh we decided to buy some earlier train tickets and now leave in an hour. So, we’re waiting for a taxi to pick us up, which our lovely Airbnb host Sam Dream helped call for us. And uh then we’ll be on our way.
We spent a rainy October weekend in Angouleme.
