Make sure to hit subscribe and ring that notification bell. So, let’s begin with the best time to visit. The best time to visit Nice is May to June or September to October. This is when the weather is warm and sunny, the sea is pleasant, and the city is less crowded. It is also a much more affordable time to visit in comparison to the summer months. When planning a trip, there are various ways to get to Nice. Many choose to fly into the airport here, which is the second busiest airport in France. It is just minutes from the city center as well, so you can use the tram and bus connections that are available. Nice is connected to other major cities in France via high-speed TGV trains, and international routes also link you to Italy and Monaco. There are some long-d distanceance coaches available to the city as well, connecting you to many European destinations. And you can also drive here using the A8 motorway, which runs along the French Riviera. Once you are in Nice, you have plenty of ways to get around. The tram is the fastest and most convenient way to move around the city. There are three main lines connecting the airport, city center, and major neighborhoods. There is also an extensive and affordable bus network covering areas not reached by the tram. This can be great for reaching nearby towns and beaches along the Riviera. So, now let’s look at some of the typical prices. You can get yourself a dorm bed for around €30 per night, while a mid-range room will cost you around €80 to €150, and more luxurious hotels begin at around €250. Local street foods such as pastries will cost you around €3 to5 and takeout or fast food will cost you around 10. Visiting Nice on a budget is doable with some of these travel saving tips. Firstly, like we mentioned before, travel in the shoulder season. This is when the accommodation is cheaper, crowds are smaller, and the weather is still gorgeous. Stay in those budget hotels we mentioned earlier or visit one of the nearby towns and take the cheap ter train into Nice to explore. Eat like a local by sticking to the pastries from the bakeries or try some fresh food from the local markets. You can also take advantage of the lunch menus here which can be a great way to try the local food without spending too much. Stick to the public transport options like the trams and buses and enjoy the many free attractions like the beaches, Castle Hill viewpoint and the old town. Shop smart by avoiding the tourist shops in Oldtown and instead visit the local supermarkets for snacks and drinks as well. Book your flights and hotels as early as you can. Booking 2 to 3 months in advance will save you a lot of money, especially in those summer months. And if you are traveling on a budget, try to avoid spending too much time in the bars and clubs on the Riviera as these can be pricey. So now let’s look at some of the best things to do in Nice. Firstly, stroll or cycle along the famous seaside prominard where you can enjoy the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean and watch the street performers. Then get lost in the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town where you can find colorful buildings, local boutiques, and charming cafes. Climb or take the elevator to Castle Hill viewpoint for panoramic views of Nice, the port, and the coastline. Relax on N’s pebbly beaches and then visit the many museums here like Musea Mutise famous for works by Hre Moutise as well as the modern and contemporary art museum. Stroll through the colorful harbor that is Nathport where you can admire luxury yachts and enjoy seafood at portside restaurants and then take day trips along the Riviera to places like Monaco or Cans.
