Val Thorens 2025: Deep Snow, Big Laughs & Après-Ski Mayhem
[Music] All right, we’re in Vteren. Battle through some floods and some storms and uh we’ve just arrived at the hotel, Hotel Fitzroy. We’re uh we’ve just unpacked and we’re going to have a little wander around the village. Uh get some provisions, keep us going in the uh the Alpine and um and then get something away. We’ve got a We got a meal booked at Steakhouse 72, I think it’s called. We went there last time we were here. It was quite nice. Nice steaks. I’ll take that oldfashioned shambling and k uh and then tomorrow hopefully nice day skiing. There’s um there’s been a lot of snow about 38 cm coming down today and another 38 cm tomorrow. So um so yeah, a lot of snow, which is kind of what you want when you’re skiing. Right up. All this crazy. Well, we could watch this carnage all day long, but it was time for the holiday to end and to assess the damage to our credit cards. We’ve managed to save a few quid bringing our own ski equipment, but for sure £6,000 is uh not cheap, but there was room for one more bargain before we flew home. So Neil offered to bring us drinks at the airport so we could have a little something before our flight um as we like to do. And this is what came. I mean, I don’t know who he thinks we are, but I we are not those people anymore. Explain yourself. It was on special offer. What’s What kind of special offer is that? Well, his his English wasn’t very good. That’s the offer. His English wasn’t very good. So, the way he explained it was Can can you hold it in your hands when you explain the reason behind knocker? Yeah. The reason what he how he explained it is he said €15. for one one or 25 or 11 one half. So I went for one half. After a weekend out, everything seems cheap, doesn’t it? It’s like, oh, it’s only 100 for a dinner. a habit any day. Yeah. Yeah. That’s right. Now holidays. Yeah.
