STRANDED on Europe’s Most Eastern Border
I’ve just arrived to this tiny little village on the border of Azerbaijan. We’re in Georgia right now, but we’re on the border of Azerbaian. And this whole city is full of people that speak, they’re Georgians, but they speak Azeri. And I’ve come to see the guy here. I can’t film in there. Took me three months to get to see this guy. He’s a spiritual healer. And uh yeah, someone told me about him. I said, “Why not? What do you have to lose? Clean some of my energies.” And uh yeah, I don’t know where I’m going to stay yet. So, we got to figure that one out. And uh we’re back. Let’s enjoy this amazing little village in amazing Georgia. This here is my driver, Goa. He bought me a coffee on the way here. Really cool guy. He’s got a very nice car. And if you ever come to Georgia, in the description I’ll put the details. You want to ride comfortably, you want to ride to anywhere in Georgia, these guys will take you. What a great guy. It’s getting dark. Um, and I’m trying to figure out a place to stay. Let me show you home for tonight, guys. This is it. Square block. with four doors. Each room has a bunch of beds in them. Oh, we’re preparing dinner, by the way. I just chopped all this up. The cooking out there is too dark to show you. Look at this corner. It’s massive. This is my room. Not only my room. I don’t know who else is staying here tonight, but take a look at this, guys. Isn’t this absolutely phenomenal? One, two, three, four beds. That thing over there, I’m not sure what that is. King-size bed. Oh, and some good old Soviet furniture to give the theme some authenticity. Oh, and this mattress is lumpy and hard. Anyways, it better be worth it. I’ll share the food with you in a minute, but I think I’m going to have an early night. So, um, get some grub. Share that with you in a minute. And then off to bed. It’s absolutely freezing out there. It’s freezing in here. But I want to see if I can catch what they’re cooking out there and share it with you. Let’s have a look. I want to see the cooking. Ah, we just prepared it. Look, look what they’re preparing, guys. The lighting here is This is my friend Al Tim, by the way. This lovely young lady. Uh, yes. We prepared carrot. You chopped the uh onion. Onion. Uh, Marjan prepared the uh rice. Rice. So we are waiting uh the chicken be ready to be fried. So and um and here we have the kazan which is a typical very heavy the oil is heating in there. I hope this is getting it because it’s very very dark here but yeah in the daytime uh we can repeat again. Thank you for this experience and thanks for organizing all this. This is the young lady that’s organizing this for me. So once the food’s ready, I’ll share it with you. Why guys? It’s bloody freezing. We’re cooking in the cold here. Uh-huh. And uh I tell you what, it’s looking good. These are the ladies responsible for this amazing dish. It’s looking amazing. Let me introduce you to this young lady, Pearl. Hello. Hello. Hello. Now, she’s preparing for us a Turkman pluff from Turk Manistan. Right. Looks like a good place to go and uh visit, huh, Turkmanistan? We’re definitely going to do that. Heat up here. An absolute success. Loving this. wish you were here. This is absolutely phenomenal. And thanks to this lovely young lady who made it happen. Thank you. Catch you in the morning, guys. By far the coldest night yet. Absolutely freezing. I hate to think what it’s like out there. So, I’ve uh met some of the other people that are actually staying with us. Uhhuh. And we’re off on a march to go get some fresh milk and butter from the farmer. Right. Yes, that’s true. We want we want to have fresh butter for our breakfast and milk for our tea. Perfect. Natural. Do you choose the level of fat you want? 3.2% 2. It’s It’s just gold. Whatever comes from. Anyways, this place is uh is surreal, guys. So, yesterday they told us to hit on the black door, but in the village, all the doors are black. All the doors were black. So, that’s how they describe the house. I’ll just go and knock on the black door. Look, there’s a chicken there. Yeah, they they have all this. We’ve arrived. Milk and going to super. Wow. foreign. Wow. This lady looks like she’s got some experience. Uhhuh. So, I wonder if everybody in the village buys their milk that way. She’s still warm. I thought It’s warm, guys. It’s still warm. Everybody in the village buys the milk like this. Yes, they are drinking this natural nothing added. You uh entrepreneurs out there, you might come here and become a milkman. They haven’t thought of that yet. They’re all buying their milk like this. Is that Oh boy. Oh he’s showing me something. My boo. Look at that guys. How cute is this one? Graci, how cool is that? They’re so soft. They’re so soft. Oh, they’re so cute. How adorable is that, guys? They’re so soft, too, and warm. The three brothers. Yeah. Twins. What’s he doing? Father hero. Poor guys. Poor guys. I must have scared the out of them. Look at that. I’m full of The whole thing. This is going to have to go to dry cleaners. Perfume. Yeah. Attract all the local ladies. Thank you. Okay, thank you guys. Now all the all the village girls are going to love me. Yeah. Look, found a trace on the zip. So, here goes nothing, guys. First time I’m having milk that’s not from the supermarket. It’s got a bit of an aftertaste. Supermarket’s better. Just to fix the milk, I just threw a um Yorkshire tea bag in there. Help. Have a look. Hot milk with Yorkshire tea. One thing you’ll notice when traveling the region is often times what you have for breakfast is a cold version of what you had for dinner. The dinner was so delicious. I’m not complaining. Eat this one. It is made in Tander. Oh, from Tministan. Bread from Tministan. Chicken for breakfast. I smell just like a village boy. I had a um lamb on me this morning and garlic chicken. So, this is Timour, guys. One of the the people that we’re traveling with to this uh to this uh extraordinary doctor. Let’s go and see what it’s all about. So, Timour, he also wants to start a YouTube channel. So, as soon as he’s live, I’m going to potty this summer to film with him. So stay tuned for Timur’s content. It’s coming soon cuz I met a lady yesterday from Kasnadar in Russia. Now that’s very far away who came here all the way to Georgia specifically to see this person. So and as you can see there are people from everywhere. I’m just going to drop the camera real quick because probably not going to be very appropriate. But this is the place. Well, I’m done. I’ve got to admit feel rather good. Problem is there’s no cabs back. So, I’ve got a long walk now to what they call a marshutka to the nearest town and then another marsha which I’ll show you what it is toili. So this should be an adventure of all the places to end up a little village on the border of Azeraijan in Georgia. Anyways, let’s see if we can get to this mashka. See what she boiling there. You’re not going to are you? No, but I can help you. Where are you going? Maruli. No, I’m actually living in I’m looking for the bus stop. I can take you. Ah, what a gentleman. I really Because if I could take a taxi, I would take a taxi. I just No worry. No wor. I can take you. You’re d. So, how did you end up here? It’s like really weird, isn’t it? Yeah. You see a guy with a camera walking around the streets like what are you doing here? I was thinking you are foreigner probably you can’t I don’t look like a local. I thought you might need some help about like getting direction or Well yeah I was looking for the trains the bus stop to go to the nearest town to go to the toilei to toi. Text you. some waiting for the bus, guys. And they started calls to prayer. Feel like I’ve been teleported to a different world, actually. So cool. So guys, the calls to prayer are over and this guy came over to me. His name is Nikki. Uh and he speaks perfect English. So I was surprised actually because it’s not very common over here. And uh he lived in Poland. But you’re from this village. Yeah. Yeah, I’m from this village. For me, it is very interesting to see a foreigner. First time I seen him. First time. It would be a kick for them to see themselves on the internet. It’ll be fun. I would say my English is perfect, but uh sometimes listen, as long as it’s better than what someone needs, then you can teach something. That’s the main thing. I think uh I could do like uh for our new generation, they need to learn English, learn very good English. I think it’s useful. It’s useful. Especially now with AI, internet, and everything else. It’s going to be very important. Well, Nikki, good to meet you, my friend. So, guys, this is Nikki and uh I wish you good luck. Thank you. All the best. Three Larry. Three Larry to take the bus to Visiar. All right, we’re off guys. Three Larry for a ticket. And uh it’s about a 40minut drive to Vilisi. So goodbye Mari. See you tomorrow. I never thought there’d be a mall here. Take a look. There’s a place called Merry Bull Home. It’s been a long day. I decided to jump off the bus because this traffic is just not moving. It’s faster to walk. But as I said, it’s been a long day and I think I’ll continue this video tomorrow. So see you
