Top 8 Places to See in Milos, Greece

[Music] Hi, welcome to my channel. This video is about my 3 days in Milos and this video is part of a longer trip. And if you want to see what else I did in Greece, please watch the videos linked below. We arrived from Santorini later in the evening around 5 and we took the Sea Jets ferry. I don’t recommend taking that ferry if you get seasick at all because it was super rough. We don’t really have that issue. So, it wasn’t a big deal for us. I’m just warning you. And this is our hotel room. It was really nice. We were able to check in right away. And this is me struggling to get out on the balcony cuz I didn’t know how to open the door yet. But yeah, I would recommend this hotel. The only real issue is that as you can tell, there’s no room for your legs when you’re sitting on the toilet. But other than that, it was like literally a perfect hotel and it was really conveniently located. And then we just got dinner and then we went to bed. We rented a car in Milos. We’re in Milos. So the next morning we walked to this rental car place that was right by our hotel and we just rented a car for a full 2 days. And then the first thing that we did was go to Sarako because the weather was supposed to be really nice this day and I wanted to go here in the morning to make sure that we could get parking. This was the number one thing on my list that I wanted to see in Milos. So, I didn’t want anything to prevent me from being able to see it. This was my favorite thing that we did in Milos and possibly even on our trip to Greece. The water was so crystal clear and really nice for swimming. I brought goggles, so I was able to like swim underwater and see the fish. There were a bunch of fish that you can see, so I definitely recommend bringing a mask or goggles. And this is also a popular cliff jumping spot. My husband did jump. I didn’t because I was wearing a two-piece, so I was kind of nervous about that. But my second favorite thing about this place is definitely the white rock formations. They’re really pretty and just I don’t know, unworldly. I don’t know how to describe them. They’re just so cool looking. Definitely really good for pictures. [Music] When you’re in Sakaniko, don’t forget to check out these caves. I don’t really know what why they’re formed or what they’re from, but they’re definitely man-made and they’re really cool and kind of creepy. Our next stop was Mandraia, and this is a really beautiful little village that is just tiny and colorful, and it’s just a fun little place that you definitely need to check out. There’s not really anything to do in Mandraia, per se. You just kind of look at it. There’s people sunbathing and there’s also a really famous restaurant nearby which is where we ate lunch. There’s a lot of famous people that eat here, but it’s a seafood restaurant that’s right on the water and it’s surprisingly not that expensive and the food is really good. We got this fried feta swordfish sulaki and I got that fried fish and then we also shared some French fries. After lunch, we drove to another really tiny little fishing village called Kla, which is also super colorful and right on the water. It’s kind of similar to Mandraia in a way, but also not at all. And if you come here, be prepared for your shoes to get wet. I would definitely wear sandals or just take your shoes off because the water does come up over the sidewalk whenever there’s a wave. Just up the road from KMA, you can access the ancient theater of Milos. And there’s a trail that goes up the hill and you can walk up the hill to the cedar or you can park above KMA. I we walked, so I don’t exactly know where the parking is, but it’s marked on Google. And this theater was built between the 1st and 4th century AD. It’s definitely a significant landmark in Milos. And you can also see the catacombs and the statue of Venus which was found over here. We didn’t see the catacombs or the statue because we didn’t have time and we had to walk. That evening we went to Placa. This village in Milos is a small little village with cobblestone streets and no cars are allowed to drive on the streets because they’re too narrow. There’s a bunch of restaurants and boutiques. So, we did some souvenir shopping in this area. And then for sunset, we decided to climb up the hill to the Milos Castle. And this is a castle that was built in the 13th century. It was built by the Venetians as a fortress. And it’s just a really good spot to watch the sunset or the sunrise, I guess, but we watched the sunset. So, I recommend walking up here if you get the chance, but be careful because the steps are really slippery. And I did slip and fall on my butt and it was pretty painful. I got a really big bruise from it. [Music] Good morning. It’s our last full day in Milos. Um, we’re planning to go for a hike and then I think we’ll just go to some beaches. Hopefully, we can find parking at the beaches after the hike. I’m not really sure how crowded they are, but yeah, the hike should be really pretty. Somebody put a circle around the flower. The first thing that we did this morning was go to Cleftico. And we decided to hike there because we didn’t really have time or want to pay for a boat ride. You can do boat tours that go to Kleftico, but most of them leave from Adamantas and it ends up taking like half a day. So, we decided just to hike there. And the trail head is marked on Google. And you kind of just park along the road. It doesn’t have a parking lot, but it’s about a 45 minute to hour hike each way. I think it maybe took us like 45 minutes going there and an hour going back. Definitely bring water and stuff to swim, like a towel and a swimsuit and all of that stuff. And when I say bring your swimsuit, I mean wear your swimsuit because there’s definitely nowhere to change and there’s no restrooms. There was actually hardly any people here, so be very careful that you don’t do anything to get hurt. But the water here is amazing. It’s seriously beautiful, and swimming was so much fun. And then we went to some beaches that were on the south coast of the island. The first beach that we went to is Cigrad Beach. I’m not sure if I’m saying that right, but it’s a really popular beach because it has a ladder that you climb to get down to the beach. And this beach was really pretty, but it wasn’t very good for swimming because there was a lot of seaweed in the water and it was pretty tricky getting down the ladder. I didn’t struggle, but a lot of people around us did struggle. So, I don’t recommend it if you have any sort of difficulty climbing or you’re maybe older or younger even. I’m glad that I saw this beach, but I don’t think I would ever come back to it just because it’s not actually a very good beach for doing beach things. This beach, Fiora Placa Beach, was really, really nice though and it was it was literally right next door. So, I recommend coming to this one because it was super large and it had a lot of sandy area for sitting and the water was crystal clear. We played in the waves for a really long time and we probably stayed here for like 2 or 3 hours. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] When it was time for dinner, we went to this restaurant. And this is a restaurant that has been around for a really long time. And it’s kind of like farmtotable style. So, there’s a farm where they get the meat and the dairy from, but it was pretty good. Good morning. So, today is our last day in Milos, and we take the ferry to Athens at like 5:30. So, I think we’re just going to like check out of the hotel at 11:00 and then just like explore more of Adamantis because we already returned our rental cars. So, we don’t really have a way to get around except taking city buses, but they’re kind of complicated and I don’t really understand where you catch them and I think we just don’t really want to deal with it today. So, I think we’re just going to like hang around this town. And yeah, hopefully the ferry is better this time than last time because the waves were massive and everyone was getting seasick. I think like a fourth of the people got sick and it was really disgusting. So, yeah. Hopefully the waves are not big this time. I forgot to mention that I bought this shirt in Placa and I really like it. It was only €10, which is pretty crazy. But if you can tell, it has like a zigzag neckline, and I think it’s really cool. On our last day, we hung out in Edamontas, and this is where we stayed. Um, it was really convenient for staying in this area because it was centrally located and also really close to the ferry port. We didn’t have to worry about dragging our bags around, but there’s a lot of cats in this town and tons of little kittens, and they were really cute and fun to play with. We walked to the far side of the town, which we hadn’t been to yet. And there’s a little beach with a dock that you can walk out on, and we saw a seal, which was really fun to see. I don’t know if you can see him swimming, but he’s just going up and down. [Music] Because we had a lot of time to kill, we also did more souvenir shopping and it ended up raining kind of a lot in the evening. So, we also went to some bakeries because we were trying to hide from the rain and we got dinner. We just had sulaki and then it was time to get on the ferry and go back to Athens. We did take the sea jets ferry again and it ended up being a little bit less bumpy. But that’s all for this video. Thank you for watching and please consider subscribing to my channel.

Milos is one of the most beautiful islands. I think it’s a must see if you’re going to Greece. I spent 3 days in Milos, after visiting Athens and Santorini. We swam at Sarakiniko, Hiked to Kleftiko, Saw the beautiful little villages of Mandrakia and Klima, and so much more!
