Roller Team Livingston Duo & Kronos Compact Select 665 | Todds Motorhomes
So, I’ve actually got a couple of vans I want to compare really. Um, one is a compact motor home and the other is a a panel van conversion. They’re similar prices. One’s on a Fiat, one’s on a Ford, but uh let’s have a look. This is the first one here. This one here is the Roller Team uh Livingstone Duo. Okay, it’s new for this season. So, you’ve obviously got the love it or leave it uh front cab here, driving lights, fear alloy wheels, 16in. Obviously, the mirrors are uh close to the body because this is a panel van conversion. So, if you are concerned about the width of something, then maybe a panel van conversion is something you want to be looking at. So, specs, it’s 6.36 m long. So, it’s a it’s the long panel van or it’s 20 foot 10 in in old money. Its width is 2.05 m and it’s overall height 2.65 m or 8’8. It’s license friendly. It’s got 140 brake horsepower manual engine. Okay. And we’ll have a look at this. It’s one of the favored layouts. We’ll show you that in a minute. Just have a little look around the front and the back. Got an awning on the top there. Let’s get around here. We’ll come into the lounge at the moment, but obviously you can see you’ve got massive sofas here. Great long sofas. Toilet there and your vent there. Okay. See, have a look on the roof. So, nice and compact, but a fair length. 6.36 m. Okay. 60,685. You come into the area. There’s a a little flap here. It’s got a little thing that comes out like that. That’s quite neat, isn’t it? Little plastic thing there. You’ve got some storage areas down there. I thought that might have been a table, but I think it’s just decorative. But you can, by the looks of it, put your table there. So, some alfresco dining there. Okay. That table is on a pedestal leg. Okay. It’s interesting. And this is a very conventional sort of camper van layout. Now, first thing I did notice is you’re going to need a plastic step because it doesn’t appear to be a electric step here. So, quite a step up to there. And here’s the Fiat’s cab. I think we’ve all seen a Fiat cab before. It’s got Pioneer head unit. It’s got the standard air conditioning. There’s no um sunroof at the front. You’ve got these little map pockets, somewhere to put things. Tiny little pocket on that side. Quite smart upholstery. And obviously this table like I say which can go outside. A beauty of this sort of layout really like I say you’ve got massive at the back. We’ll look at those in a minute. But the beauty of this layout is obviously you’ve got somewhere to sit. Oh my keys. Well done. All right. Cheers. All right. And uh yeah, you got somewhere to sit uh when someone else is in bed. Okay. Seat belts. Yeah, there’s not too much to see. There’s a standard pullup blinds. Got these these ones that we’ve got or very similar actually. They’re not quite the same, but yeah, very similar. And these Constantina blinds here pull up. So, that’s good to see. Okay, sort of blinds we got here. Got nice green and Constantina blinds there. Nice padding here. That is all padded all the way around. That’s good. Like that. You got fly screen on the main door as well. Yeah. We got in here two burner sink, a little oven grill, cutlery drawer. Obviously cereal packets in there or something. And a little drawer there. That’s all right. Good. That’s sort of just a blanking plate. I presume there’s another locker down there. I’m not open that. A main kitchen locking area is in here, which is nice. TV point up there. So, presumably you can put the TV on that wall there. There’s your little cupboard there. Okay. You’re more likely to have the TV in the other room. So, wet room. Okay. Bit of a step up onto the toilet. Not too bad. Fixed little sink there. Storage above it. Tambber door. Close off the area. You’ve got a bit of wood there. I wouldn’t be keen on that because obviously you’re going to get that wet. I suppose it is like plastic wood, isn’t it really? I don’t know. You’ve got two drain holes. They are little drain holes, but you’ve got two drain holes there. And separate shower and tap. It’s nice to see. And it’s not a bad size actually. I’ve seen bigger motor homes, bigger coach built motor homes that have got a smaller washroom. Okay. So, moving backwards, you’ve got the Fetford compressor fridge, salad drawers. Looks like there’s quite a big locker there. Yeah, that’s your hanging space there. Okay, not bad. Not bad. But, uh, that is your hanging space. I don’t think there’s any other hanging space there. But yeah, these sofas, they are huge. So yeah, no, definitely you could just sleep lengthwise on these. Lose this cushion here and you got two beds. Very easy. If you got a couple of duvlets, put that together underneath here. Yeah, that pulls out. What we got under here? Um, looks like that’s where your table leg goes. And on this side, difficult to lift up. There we go. A water tank there. Uh, more pump water tank stuff. A little locker there because your gas ah blind me cuz your gas lockers. There’s two gas lockers here. One for each bottle. Whether you want to use two bottles or not will be up to you. There we are. There’s one locker. That’s quite a common feature the on these camper vans having two. You obviously you could decide what you want to do with it. I you know you probably don’t need two bottles here these days, but I don’t know. You’ve got the choice there. Now notice there’s some tie down points here. Look there. So you could use this to store a bike in there. keep it safe indoors. But yeah, look at this. It’s I can’t get over how long that sofa is. It’s great, isn’t it? I was looking to see if there’s a fly screen across the back here. There isn’t. Okay, so no use if you’re at Bunry in the height of the summer. You’ll be infested in no time. Little window on the back and on that side. I’ve got to get back in now. Touchcreen lights. Can’t do it again now. That’s it. Just a gentle tap. Yeah, not bad. Not bad. So, the other one I want to compare and contrast is this one. So, it’s slightly more. 2,000 more. This is a motor home and this is a Roller Team uh Kronos Select 665 and it’s on a Ford. So, it scores points for that. I honestly think that the Ford cabs are a bit more modern and a bit more carlike to drive. This is a manual one. I’ll come back to that in a minute. Thing to notice with this one is it is a compact one. So you haven’t got the great big bit that sticks out. I’ll look at the specs in a minute. You have obviously got it is a bit wider than the uh camper van. Water point electric point. the Ford alloy wheels. And of course with this, there’s no shortage. Absolutely no shortage of storage here. You know, if you’ve got a lot of toys that you want to take with you, this is definitely the place. The bed goes up and down. Yeah. Somewhere to store your ladder. and these new roller team LED type lights which are I think are quite smart. I’d like to see them in operation but quite discreet. Uh single view rear camera. There’s the access from the other side. You have got a light there and main socket and you’ve got heating into there. You see the blown air vent. It’s an interesting layout, isn’t it? Because you’ve got like shelves there. You’d probably want to put something in there. You could put stuff on top of that. Uh didn’t want it rolling around, would you? Have got tie downs in here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I mean if you could fix some uh boxes or something in there, you’d have even more storage in there. So, like I say, no shortage of storage. Kronos compact 665. So, it’s four birth, four belts, 6.41 m long. So, not much longer than this. 21t 1 in. And it’s 2.15 m long. So 10 cm wider than the panel van and height is 2.85. So it’s a bit taller. It’s uh license friendly. It’s got the Ford 165 brake horsepower 2 L manual. It’s got the drivers pack. So, you got built-in Wi-Fi, uh, automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, reversing camera, front parking sensors, uh, modern media system, dab radio, steering wheel controls, etc. LPG in there. Can you see in there? There we are. She only seems to have one place to put something. I don’t know why you’ve only got one there. Okay, maybe they have going to have a refillable in this one. 120 kg bottle. Okay, interesting choice. It’s probably ideal for a bigger gas low in there. fly screen on the door. It’s fairly high up again, so a bit of a step up. Again, you might need a plastic step. So, let’s have a look at the cab. Uh, it’s quite nice Alcantara type feel. There’s your Ford cab. And that’s the Ford I don’t know what it’s called, but that’s the Ford one we’ve uh and the one we’ve borrowed. And it is very good. And this is obviously a manual. And you look at the options on the steering wheel. Yeah, got lane keeping uh cruise control. Don’t think it’s got the adaptive cruise control by the looks of it because there would be a button to adjust the distance to the vehicle in front. It’s got rain sensing wipers. Yeah, quite a nice place. Quite a big table. And it’s in this um continental type L-shaped lounge area with twin travel seats. You know, it’s a tried and tested layout. But yeah, that is quite a big table. Doesn’t fold or anything. And it is fairly fixed. And obviously you’ve got the drop down bed above that. So have a look at that in a minute. And of course with this with this you’ve got smaller power plant. It’s hard to reach. Yeah. Cool. Really strong springs. So you’ve got two cupboards on there. And often times you don’t get cupboards when you’ve got a drop down bed. Yeah. There’s your drop down bed. quite a severe cutff on that. Look at that. That’s obviously to get round the uh this cupboard here, not even to get around the door. Oh, a problem I always have with these drop down beds is once they’re down is getting out of that door at night, you’d have to get out, put the bed up. Yeah, that doesn’t work if you got dogs. Okay, have a look in here. There’s your solar charge controller and hanging space. It’s quite a nice tall cupboard. That’s all right, isn’t it? Fairly compact kitchen. Got a deep sink camper van style two twin burner. I said I’m going to compare it with the panel van conversion. Obviously, cooking facilities seem to be very similar. You have got the new Truma control panel. Some good size lockers here. Yeah, can’t help but look at the washroom. Okay, so we’ve got a swing wall washroom area. There we go. That locks in place. And that’s your shower. Duck board. Bit of a step. Not too bad. And there’s quite a good standing area there. Again, you’ve got like a wooden style wall there. A little uh vent there that goes back presumably all the way. That was a thing there. Catch. Yeah, that’s it. That locks it in place. Okay. What’s that? All right. Okay. I don’t know. Oh, that’s to stop your door coming round. Thought it was some piece of technology. I can’t figure out if that is on a plinth or not. Is that It’s not raised up at all. Or is it? Yeah, it is a little bit, isn’t it? So, watch that if you’re thinking about this. really ought to try these out. And you No, I think that’s all right. No, I think that’s all right. Okay. I was sort of expecting to have access to the garage there, but there isn’t. There’s no door there. There’s the fridge. Okay. It’s a Thatford three-way, I think. Yeah, that’s a reasonable size. You’ve got somewhere to put a telly, I suppose. Yeah, socket there. Some reading lights up the top. That’s interesting place for a trim event. I never seen one that high up. Okay. And big move across there. Thing about this one though, of course, is you’ve got transverse bed. Yeah, great big transverse bed which can be raised or lowered as we saw earlier. Interesting that, isn’t it? You got your pillows hanging up there. That’s quite a neat idea, isn’t it? Then you put them over there. Yeah. If you don’t mind transverse beds, I always thought they the drawback with it, of course, is that the person at the far end has to get the person at the near end to get out when they want to go there. Nearly missed it. Tambber door on the toilet. Yeah. So, you’re looking for a smaller van. I wouldn’t say they’re particularly small, these two, but which would you choose? Let us know. Roller Team Kronos Select 665 or the Roller Team Living Stone Duo. So, I thought I’d have a little look at see if I could find any uh more affordable motor homes. What I found here is this little alter cruise rhythm. It’s obviously been loved. It’s got little lots of little stars all over it. 24,995

I like the 665 Bob. Thank you for the comparison review. Safe travels .See you on the next.
Hi Bob,Slightly off topic and really a question about your opinion about the ford cab/drive compared to the fiat.
I know you have the new (2.2 180 and the new (8 speed) auto MH. (Witch is what we are looking at. So really the question is as we would be a first time MH buyer. What would you recommend ? Been doing alot of home work and you normally find the fiat /Mercedes cab's on the premium MH's and the Ford on the more budget friendly. Would just like your opinions.Thankyou and keep up the great work and we love watching your channel. Kind regards Ian
Great video and review as ever Bob and i would choose the roller team for the money the extra space of the coach built is well worth it! Both great motorhomes and seem well made all the best Daniel
Blacked out windows make it dark inside the van. I got my new van without them. But it was difficult finding one, as so many are blacked out these days.
I think we like the Coach built van the best Bob xx
