This Christmas market in Budapest has been consistently winning the award for the best Christmas market in Europe. So, we are here to find out how true is that. Starting from food, there are so many options available from traditional Hungarian dishes like langosh and golash. You can also find simple sausages and burgers here or exotic grilled fishes. We absolutely loved the non-alcoholic fruit punch drink, especially in this weather. Another highlight would be the light show on the basilica every 30 minutes. It just adds to the overall festive environment of this market. Wow. This market is a paradise for shopping. There are so many options available, so many stores selling unique items from all across Hungary. My favorite was the shop selling lavender based products. They were all handmade and of such a good quality. The Christmas market has been decorated beautifully. There’s a giant Christmas tree placed right at the center and it glows up by night. The St. Stephen’s Basilica takes a backseat here around this time and acts as the perfect backdrop. The stalls are decorated as well and everything is so colorful for a world which is slowly losing its color. This seems like a candy shop for the eyes. And overall the vibe is quite happening here.
