Intercontinental Le Grand Bourdeaux
Welcome back to the channel and today I wanted to show you what you could expect from the Intercontinental in Bordeaux, France. Please follow me on Instagram at Brandon Johnson10K for behind thes scenes looks at content that I will be reviewing in the future. So this is the Intercontinental in Bordeaux, France. Um, first time visiting the city. Very easy to get to. You can really just take the train to the walking street. Um, you can find it on Google. Pretty easy. Just walk straight to the hotel. It’s in a beautiful square surrounded by trains and just nice oldw world architecture. So this is a historic building. You can see the lobby. Quite the contrast from the intercontinental Lima Peru which is much more modern. You can check out that review. [Music] And so you do have water flavored water on offer there. And you’ve got the Christmas everything is Christmas themed since this was um done during the holiday season. Got that globe in there. So really cool lobby area, which this part doubles as a bar. So you can get drinks ordered here during regular hours. I came in here before we were leaving. just to show you the space while nobody was in it so you have a better idea of what it what it looks like there. Um, in this review you’ll be seeing the King Premium uh room. Booked this directly with the IHG with a breakfast rate included. I only have gold elite status so I don’t get breakfast uh with the stage. So here’s the gym. This is on the fifth floor. So pretty good gym there. Lots of mirrors. And you can actually wouldn’t recommend it during the winter time or when it’s cold out. I would think that door to the left is open. You can go up out on the roof and take in a nice view. I’ll show you that at night time there. But you got decent amount of equipment here. Definitely better than the closet. Although again, with multiple people in here, it can feel like it’s much smaller than what it actually is in the gym. But I’d say the coolest thing is the pool area. This is also on the top floor. They didn’t have the water be out of the lion, but yeah, it’s a really cool pool area, the design here. They also have a sauna which you can use complimentary. They do have a spa there, a Gerain spa if you wanted to take advantage of any of the treatments. So, as promised, this is the rooftop bar. So, this part closed in there. So, if people want to stay warm, you can drink inside of there. If not, you can brave the cold and sit at sit at a table during the cold night as that group was up there and take in a pretty nice view over the uh center of uh historic center anyway. You can see the ferris wheel in the back of there. Got a Christmas fair going on just similar to Paradise. And the breakfast. So breakfast spread was nice. You come in, you got some detox shots ready there and some little cookies there. It says the hours there, but detox shots. Very good. You can get made to order eggs, so that is included in the breakfast, which is always a good thing. So, as the gent here was preparing an omelette and the breakfast spread is pretty good, I’d say the quan quality over quantity there. You got some different juices there. Fresh apple juice, which I love the green apple juice. So, as you come in off the top, you’ve got hot options. Pass the egg making station. Got sausages, bacon, potatoes, got mushrooms, some tomato stuff, more sausage, and some fish that is fit like fish balls, I guess. And as you come over here, you’ve got cereals [Music] and you’ve got I think that’s some tea there and some different some dried fruits. You got cheeses, cold cuts, and salmon over here. So, um again, quant quality over quantity. Not a huge spread, but the food is very good. So, I’ll leave you with the rest of the breakfast spread. And stay tuned for the King Premium review coming up. [Music] Okay, so now for the main event. This is the king premium room at the intercontinental eleant in Bordeaux. So, as you can see here, you got this area. This actually doesn’t open. At first, I thought this might have been some kind of secret patio, but no, it’s not. It doesn’t open. So, you’ve got here the guest bathroom, just the toilet, maybe half bathroom. We’ll just call it that. Come out here. You’ve got the closet with some space to hang jackets, shirts, iron and ironing board. Here you do have coffee machine, water heater, warm up water of the room, some snacks there. There’s the price list for the mini bar. Not cheap as one would expect. I’m going to guess if you open this. Yes, you’ll see some things here that also are not cheap. If you want to enjoy that, I mean, if you’re going to pay those price, you might as well go to the bar on site here and enjoy that. The side here we’ve got closet space, safe, laundry bags. And here, this thing here is the thermostat. So, you control the temperature there. So, this room, you don’t have a view in this game premium room. It’s a TV. Little cute sofa here. Nice welcome gift here. Not bad for a IG Gold member. doesn’t even you don’t even get breakfast complimentary. So that’s a nice gesture there. Maybe because it’s Thanksgiving. You can see here. Yeah. Architecture is incredible in this at this hotel. Here’s the king bed. Now, here’s something kind of interesting. This is cool. This is a nice modern touch in this otherwise um architectural masterpiece. You got a USB C, USBA ports for charging right by the bed. Got some more just dead space there. So, no view. Got a little work desk here. Just feels like back into the 19th century here. It’s It’s crazy to see. See, you got that charger on one side of the bed. So, not a ton of space for anything else on this uh little table. Small smaller end table than usual that you’d see at hotels. Again, part of the decor. You do have the shower here by Rao Bald Dafreak. I think I’ve seen that somewhere in another hotel. Maybe in Brazil, I believe I’ve seen this toiletry brand. And you’ve got a double vanity here. And you have a tub so you can soak in the tub. No, no jets. No jets. So, still worth a soak. Got the robes here. So, yeah. This is the King Premium Room at the Intercontinental Leg Grand in Bordeaux.
