December Walk Along Paphos Sea Front. Guess Who’s Back?

Hi, this is Dominic from PAOS life and I’m standing outside or opposite Diva 2 by the I love PAOS sign and we’re going to have a walk down the seafront and harbor on a Wednesday morning December the 3rd just after 10 I think. I could be wrong. There’s a big pile of the seaweed here washed up in the recent winds, all those people. So, you got Baria restaurant here. I get the camera a bit tilted down my way. Think I’d know by now, wouldn’t you? There’s a little Christmas tree in there. There’s one of the two Elean opticians they got on the seafront. And these uh Christmas lights do come on at night. Now it’s December and the countdown to Christmas is officially on. To be quite honest, I prefer the countdown to Christmas rather than Christmas and the new year uh itself. Still has a bit of the magic that you had when you were a kid. So, it’s 22 degrees centigrade near us. Damn it. Just coming up to 11. That’s not bad, is it? Going to see if we can get to fish boy. But the flower pots have got nice seasonal flowers in them. An artistic fly over of that. And there’s Dominica Group. You’re looking to buy a property and the seafront itself looking amazing. Swimming area here. Quite a few swimmers about still. Fair play to them. It’s a bit chilly for me now. Oh, they’re going up to see fish boy. Boy, fish boy. Nice view of him there. So, instead we will show you the wooden pub. Now, someone posted a picture on our pathos chat Facebook uh group that they had mimicked the Christmas tree at the wooden pub. I’m trying to see if I can see it. Of course, I could have completely misunderstood what that post meant. I can’t see any Christmas trees there. Got a bit closer. There’s the Pizza Express down there. the tobacco shop. Look at the Christmas tree in there. Must be tucked away somewhere. So, let’s see. Puff Seafund’s tiny little beach. You won’t find it on any blue flag database. But if you’re staying in the uh villas and apartments of Pinia above the restaurants here, this could be your first port of call in the morning for an early swim. There there’s Pinia C view apartment up there above Mariano. If you like our films, please do subscribe to our YouTube channels at Pathos Life. Finally, you can follow our Facebook page, Pathos Life. To find out whenever we publish new stuff on Facebook, YouTube, or our main Pathos Life website. And to say hello to us, join Pathos Chat or Cypus Chat Facebook groups. There’s the captain’s view. I say you’ll have a nice view. Right. Super jumbo Saint Raphael real glass bottom boat is still going out for its tours. Now I think the lady down at the harbor who we’ll probably see later on uh is a barker for them. So it’s nice to see them still out and about. So obviously if you’re booking for this time of year uh if the weather is inclement they won’t be able to go out but they are first rate uh can providing cancellations etc. I know that for a fact cuz my sister wants to go on them but the storm came around so it was cancelled and it was an automatic refund pretty much. Some fisherman’s been feeding the pigeons. There you go. I saw a few cats earlier on today up further up the boardwalk by the hotel strip. Haven’t seen any here though. So, you got the Solomo and the Harbor restaurants on the right. And oh, and the big news possibly is that Henry should be back from uh his winter holiday cuz if you remember he had November off. So it be interesting to see if he’s back on yet and whether uh he had a nice holiday. I’d imagine he was building one of his homes that he’s been building there. He lives in Nigeria. That’s where he comes from. So, the boat’s toppling off into the Wednesday sunset towards the horizon. There you go. So, there’s going to be a lot of Christmas activity in Papos over the next few weeks. The next big one coming up will be the uh Cap St. George Christmas Village, which starts this Saturday. And we of course will be down to film that. But uh it’s on for several weeks, numerous days. And if you want to go and see uh the new restaurant down there, it’s a good time to go and see it because it’ll be open when the village is open. And uh we did provide a little blog article for that. So check our main pathos life website and you can get more information there. It’s worthwhile though cuz I mean they’ve got like a a link to the full program of events and there’s a lot happening and it’s all in English as well which is good to know. I mean the program of events is all in English. That’s one of the things we’re very fortunate about in Cypus is that uh they’re very forgiving for the lack of Greek spoken by uh the English immigrants, British immigrants rather. Now, here’s a lady who plugs her glass bottom boats. So, we’ll give her a chance for her first plug of December. And the best thing is there’s no baskets here to uh provide music with copyright etc. Hello. Fine. Yourself? Are you ready for your December? Your first plug of December? Oh, that would be lovely. Thank you. Was that you going off? Well, not you personally. Was that your boat going off? Yeah, I filmed that. Yeah, was it going off? I thought it was. Here we are. Super jumbo glass bottom boat trips. Sailing throughout December, weather permitting. We have three sailings 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00. You can find us at the harbor to book your tickets. There you go. Thank you. Have a No problem. And you? Thank you. Cheers. Right. Oh, there’s a lizard there. I won’t film that though. Probably ask me to pay for the privilege. There’s the archaeological park. Good time of the year to go to the archaeological parks, especially if it rained the day before because all the murals that were outside will have had a nice wash and you’ll be able to see them in all their glory. That’s the same one we just plugged. So I just film him in passing guys. So now we come to the restaurants. Wonder if Coco will be around. There’s Kings and Theos. There’s a Christmas tree. I don’t think he’s got any lights on yet, though. They have got lights on, but I don’t think they’re set up properly. Seems to be a big uh pile of them at the bottom of the tree. He’s got the Pelican restaurants. Morning Coco. Morning. Good morning. How are you? Lovely. drink maybe somewhere. Oh, there’s Coco. He’s up there. He’s asleep. I won’t disturb him, but he’s in there. Little sleeping beauty. Is that the man himself? It is. He’ll pretend not to have seen me. He’ll be psyched himself up now. In his place in November, there was this uh young lady. I wonder if he’s upped his game. Henry, Mr. D. Good to see you, my friend. Have you been walking past weeks? Hello. Happy Christmas. Or soon. Anyway, so how was holiday? Wow. You got a new cap. I Well, I’ve had this one for a long time. Oh, look. The thing is I I wear this one in winter time. Oh, okay. Winter time. One for the summer one. So, how was Nigeria? It was was good. It was good. But just that you have to have enough money to Are you getting ready for a drink now? Oh, just coffee. No, thank you. I don’t want to get in your getting fired just as you come back. I’m back to reality. Yes, I’ll be enjoying myself. Oh, well, I will no doubt see you in the coming days and weeks. Fair enough. But it’s good to see you again. Take care. See you. Now, can you mind little flower pots they got here? He’s moaning. You need money to buy places in Nigeria. Now I can see a rogue wife up ahead. She’s out taking pictures. Is Ocean Basket. Now I wonder if they’ll be finally doing something to the final cubicle up here. I guess it all depends on how the sales have been. There’s no point doing it up. if you’re just spreading the existing uh underutilized area out, but they always seem to be pretty busy. There’s nautico restaurant and after that there’ll be a happy chap and the little ice cream parlor are just up here. Bubble waffles. Surprised our daughter haven’t mentioned that. I don’t think the lighthouse here, that little one out there, got any action this summer. Previous summer there had been a little fence around it and there were little speedboats. You could hire, you know, sort of thing. They had parks in English uh parks, that sort of thing. That was good, wasn’t it? Art and crafts exhibition. Is this the one of Eevee? Don’t think so. And you got Da Vinci over there, followed by modern Aphrodite and the castle itself. I’m getting way for a photograph. Now at night this area looks very nice cuz uh it’s all illuminated. Not like a Christmas thing. I mean it’s any dark night of the year. This is very nice. I’ll go up the steps here first though so you can have a final view and final elevated view of the castle. But that’s Pathos seafood and harbor and that’s the castle. And down that way takes you to uh the lighthouse beach, Venus Beach and George’s Beach, Alikey Beach, and finally Sandy Bay before you run out of walkway. Okay, thanks for watching. Cheers. [Music]

Yesterday I walked down Paphos Sea Front and Harbour. Partly to take in the warm December air, but mostly because I wanted to see if Henry was back on duty. And he is!

  1. In the early 80’s right by the Pelican Restaurant, there used to be a Cypriot guy selling ice creams from one of the Bikes, which has the entire front wheel changed for a fridge on 2 wheels.
He’d pedal down the road, shouting “Ice cream, you scream, everybody scream!”

  2. Nice to see Henry back from his holidays. That man is a legend in his own lunchtime. 😃
I've just seen the launch videos for the new Antigravity A1 360 degree drone. I hope that you've been a good boy Dom, and Santa brings you one for Christmas. 🎁
