SIM CHALLENGE: MSFS2024 First Flight
late in dark. There’s your dark. What’s that there? What’s what? That there. Is that It’s a bit ging. No, it’s not. No, it’s not. It’s your drink. It’s your drink. Drink. Yeah, it’s your drink. It’s me drink. Oh sh. Oh, let the chaos. Okay. Hello everybody. And what’s that there? What’s where is that? The desk. Yes. Okay. Oh man. That’s it. Stops. Perfect. Stop. Stop. Stop. Okay. Okay. Okay. Here we go then. That’s the view I want, Jilly. I want to get the the um uh the jump seat view. Need to get that from um from Dean. Okay. Hey folks, how are we doing? Um well, we are back. Um al be it five minutes late. Apologies for that. I’ve got to say uh before we start anything and please everybody give Dean a big uh thank you for helping us out. I know there’s a lot of people out there who are like, you know, I could have done it. I could have helped you. Da da da da da. But I got to say, uh, Dean stepped up to the plate, a 14-year veteran on Microsoft Flights in folks. So, he’s seen it all. And, um, we are we’re very grateful to him for having to having set absolutely everything up. Um, and then some, to be honest with you. So, Dean, thanks, mate. We really appreciate it. And um we probably will be calling on you you in the future, I’d imagine. Um but uh but thank you mate. Thank you. Really appreciate. Won’t have anything. Won’t any stickers. Don’t want any stickers. Don’t want any any clobber or anything. He’s just a he’s just a genuine lad. Thanks, mate. Really appreciate it. Okay. So, what we’re going to do is uh what we going to do? Uh is it free flight that we do? Is that to do the Jill’s not listening to me? She can’t multitask and listen to me. Okay, here we go. Here we go. So, we have the AI the IAE 320. It’s Yankee already. Yankee Yankee. Um, we’re going to do Heathrow. Now, listen, folks, just because this is our first flight on on Microsoft Flights in 2024. Um, can we Yeah, the music. The music. How do we get rid of the music? Oh, but you’re still muted. It is muted. The music’s currently muted. Can they hear me though? Yes. Okay. Because I can hear the music and it’s really annoying. Um, it’s muted in obs here. Desktop audio is muted. All right. Okay. So, but but there is a way in the settings that I can I can get rid of it. Anyway, just long you can’t hear it. That’s all right by me, folks. So, listen. People don’t mind. Just leave it. Carry on. Crack on. Okay. So, we’re going to do our normal. We got Yankee Yankee. We’re going to do our normal 501 uh gate position. Um, also Dean mentioned some uh interesting things to me about air traffic control, about um uh VATSIM and about say intentions that he uses and um uh we use um No, we use Say Intensions. He uses he uses Beyond ATC. Beyond ATC. Um so but but he he he sort of like switches between beyond ATC and and Vatsim and the whole thing with um with taxiing is a very important point that he told me and that is that and this is again I have to say how much I respect uh pilots um and their quick thinking um the whoever’s doing the who whoever’s taxiing it and the other pilot who is who’s sort of like taking the instructions and reading them back to the air traffic controllers and then having to do this all very very quickly. Um and sometimes at airports that they’re not perhaps familiar with. Uh maybe those pilots the night before have downloaded and printed out um the taxi instructions uh part of the charts that you get um through Navig etc etc. So um I’m definitely going to do that. But he said that it’s a good idea to sort of like um familiarize yourself with a with a couple of airports and their taxi ways uh so that you just become used to it. And that’s kind of what the stage that I am at at the moment in terms of um uh um familiarizing myself with the taxi ways of London Heathrow. But what I am going to do is I’m going to download it and I’m going to print it off so I can literally study it um like I did everything else. So, we’re going to go out of gate 501 at Heathrow and we’re going to go probably, I’d imagine, in the conditions uh as as they are right now. So, we go in darkness. Um now, where are we going to go to? Are we going to go to Skipipole? Because it’s a it’s an old favorite amongst a lot of people. Um and uh it’s just sort of like it’s familiar ground for us and um I think it might be worth just having a go at that. I know we were talking about potentially of of doing sort of like um Athens to Skiaos. Um but we’ll we’ll um we’ll uh we’ll we’ll we’ll do that on another we’ve got a lot of sim challenges to go through. Of course, I want to um also get involved with the A350 which we’ve downloaded. Um I’ll probably go A3 uh 320 to the A350, but I’ve got to do the type rating. Well, I’ve got to do the conversion on it. So, and we’ll probably do that together. I think um Dean has very kindly um said that he would help out on that side of things as well. And I have no doubt that there are um regular simmers out there who’ve also got experience on the 350. Um but uh but I think I’ll I might do some sort of like offline studying in terms of um uh tutorials just to sort of like familiarize myself so at least when I go into it I’m not completely cold. Uh I’ve got some idea. I think it’s just the same systems but it’s just there’s there’s there’s roots to stuff which is different bigger screens. Um but I think the uh the um FCU, MCDU and all that kind of stuff is more or less the same. So it carries across uh the different variants. Um can we just let’s get rid of the music? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Are they hearing the music? No, it’s muted in obviously your desktop audio. But get rid of it then you don’t have to listen to it. Okay. If you can get it from here just a sec. Uh sound mute audio and background. I’m looking for music. Music. Okay, done. Save them back. Okay, there you go. Perfect. Thank you. So, I’m going to Can you Can you unmute that or not hear any engine sounds or anything? Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Perfect. All right. Okay. So, here we go, folks. So, um, let’s just, uh, quickly go on to, um, the chat and see what people are generally saying. I hope you’re going to support me on this whole thing with regards to, um, uh, uh, doing Skipole. Um, graphics are Heathro T5 is insane on the new builds. Joe Heming saying, uh, yeah, we’re going to go there any moment, folks. Come down to exit, Jerry. I’ll give you a wave. Um, I’ll message you. You want to miss it. Okay, there we go. Yeah. Um Melany’s meeting at Dunkerswell. Where’s Dunkerswell? Um let me just have a look here. Um yeah, thank you Dean. Everybody saying thank you Dean. Uh Andy Bard setting mine up. Well done and thanks to Dean. Um it’s something that I for one would not have been able to do myself. And even though with Jill’s immense skills, um it’s just it’s just quite a unique thing, isn’t it? It’s very sort of like um complicated. Um so let’s just have a look and see. Did I hear you correctly? Jerry’s going to do his homework. Yes, I am. Uh they just released Manchester. It’s crazy accurate. Rob Drizz saying, um um should we do a short twitch? a twip trip to Manchester. Should we do that? They’re saying that it’s uh on 2024. It’s amazing. Or is that the Is that We don’t have Manchester in Bills. It’s not going to see it. But but it’ll still be a The graphics will still be normal, won’t they? They’ll be normal. It won’t be what they’re talking about, right? Talk about the Inills Manchester. Okay. Okay. Daniel Mossy will be on a BA3 320 tomorrow. Flying to Dublin morning 6:30 a.m. Wow, that’s an early start, man. You can get the BE livery on a 319, but Jerry’s got a Phoenix 320. Uh Rob Walker at least stays in on temps is on the map. Yes, it is. Is it stains up on temps? Not stains on temps. Spain stains up on uh East Deon for Dunk as well. James Taylor. Uh Richard the Roadie. Uh Ian R. We miss this afternoon with you. stuck long time ago. Da da da. Just double check those profiles we set I renamed earlier. I still set 24 as a habit of changing them first time. Okay. Okay. You and Stuart is off to skip all on Wednesday. Have a great day. You and you will have a fantastic day. Um I don’t know if you’re getting a rental car, Stuart. Uh you sorry. Um but um I would highly recommend it if you want to get to all the places that you need to get to uh especially all the way out there at um at the pder barn. Um, but you will find yourself driving around. It all depends. I mean, uh, maybe you’re just going there to go up onto the up onto the terrace, which is pretty cool. Just pipe some out. We did do the rudder, did we? Rudder’s fine. Okay. Rudd is working fine. Okay, then it’s all good. Okay. Yeah. So, save them back. Yeah. No, no, no. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Right. Um, so shall we do Skipple then? Let’s just do EAM. Right. Okay. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Uh, and we will just, um, it’s selected runway 27, which is kind of what we did last time. Um, what I’m going to do quickly is I’m going to go into this all changed, Rab. We’ve got it all sorted. And we’re going to go in here. We’re going to go new flight. Dean sorted out. Uh, yeah. Really, man. Really, really. Thank you, mate. Uh, oh, we look at that. We got to eat there. D. Um, so 820. So yeah, we can go for 820. That’s fine. Um A320 uh A320200. There’s my routing. Um I AE 320 I AE that one there. That’s all good. It’s given us uh all that information there. We will now generate the flight. I’m allowed to talk on a Friday, Paul. It is Friday. There we go. It is Friday all day, right the way through till midnight. Um, then we will come over here and we’ll just unload that just to clear everything out. Import from Simbrief, that one that I’ve just done. And there it is. Um, Bish Bosch Bash. Now, we will just select we’re doing the BPK departure. um as in the SID standard instrument departure and the arrival is red for 1A which is pretty standard for us. Um so that’s all good. We’re all good there and that’s ready to rock and roll. Um we also need to do um we’re going to use say intentions. Okay. Okay. We’ll just wait till the aircraft’s up and running. We are gonna We are at gate 501, so it should be cold and dark. Oh, see that’s what I worry about, mate. Bit sticky there. Look, look, look at it whiming. Loading. Okay. Oh my god. Just remember don’t panic. No, no, no. Um, what was the Okay. Hey, look at this, man. Wow. Look at all this. How amazing is that, man? There’s a ground power unit right there, folks. which is feeding up into the uh Oh, there’s something going out of it. Nice. Nice. Nice. He’s sitting there waiting. Look. Okay. Okay. Okay, something very dodgy has gone on there. Oh no, I thought it was one to enter aircraft. Okay, never mind. Don’t panic. Where’s me mouse? Where’s me mouse? I know. I know, but I I can’t find me mouse. Your mouse is here. No, no, I just couldn’t find my mouse. That was all. Okay, so um eight is the top board. Um I have got some slightly new key um movements here folks. So also that’s a little bit different where I have to scroll it rather than Yeah. Should have done it in daylight. Who’s saying that? Oh why? No, it’s all good. using the thrust master on side stick. Okay, we’re all good there. Six seconds. It’s alcohol free for crying out there. And what does it matter, man? It’s a bit of fun. It’s not like I’m flying you all in a plane and having a couple of beers up front, am I? Look how much crisper the um the graphics are, mate. Right, what I’m going to do is I’m going to I’m going to I’m going to try this that I say refueling. Door is open. Okay. Switch on the iPad. Import. What are you huffing for, man? What are you huffing for, man? You don’t know what I’m on about. Okay, but you’re huffing, that’s all. Okay, doors. No one left. That’s only right. Okay. Um, that’s all good. Let’s go into here. And what we’ll do is we will um load the aircraft um in six minutes. Let’s do it that way, shall we? Um, can’t do any of this just yet. Uh, that all that information. Well, um, now that’s the other thing, isn’t it? It’s in here in Simbre, isn’t it? Um, estimated takeoff weight, uh, 60.5. Uh, tons. Oh, no. What? 6 T point. No, no, no, no. Let’s just put 61 in there for crying out loud. Okay. And the max takeoff weight 73.5. Let me do a point. Oh, it does. Oh. Oh, percent. Okay. Is that is that is that calculated this the percent for me? Can we just double check that that has calculated the percent for me on there? Um 45%. Um so maximum takeoff weight is 73 tons. So, um, 45 45% of 73 I’m guessing is 61. Okay. Um, all right. Well, mind you, we don’t want to do anything just yet because we haven’t uh completed the the loading procedures, have we? Okay. 50 boarded planned 127. Okay, we’ve got all the all the fuel is on board. Plant 4675 intanks 2996. Um, that’s the cargo. Sorry, my apologies. The cargo. So, we’re still fueling at the moment, right? Okay. Um, I’m a little bit rusty, folks. I just haven’t done this for uh for for a little while. So bear with me if that’s all right. Um, but we’re basically looking waiting for our center of gravity to end up sort of like around about here somewhere. Um, so that those numbers can then be sent to the MCDU which is down there. Um, wow. This is this is quite nice like this, isn’t it? I like this. Um, all right. A couple of things I need to Oh, okay. Hold on a minute. This is um Okay, hold on a minute. What’s that? No idea. Um Oh, who’s that in the right hand seat then? Um, okay. Let’s just go to ground here. Uh, we on one. So ground 121 705. Let’s see. Let’s call them up. Good evening. Heathro ground. Speed by 25 Yankee ground. Go ahead. Good evening. He ground 25 Yankee gate 501. uh looking to pick up IFR flight plan to EAM Echo Hotel Alpha Mike. Um thank you. Stand by. You’re number one. Okay. 25 Yankee. You still have an open flight plan. Please be sure to close that one first by the new flight button. Okay. New flight. He ground. Good evening. Speed bird 25 Yankee gate 501 looking to pick up high for our flight plan to EAM echo hotel alpha mike. Okay. Heathphro ground. Good evening. Speedird 25 Yankee gate 501 looking to pick up IFR flight plan to EAM Echo Hotel Alpha Mike. Oh, I’m for that clearing. I’m a senior second officer. How did that happen? Really? Yes. Speedird 25 Yankee Heathrow ground cleared to Skipple via the Brookman’s Park 7 Golf departure. Departure runway 2 7 left. Initial climb for flight level 060. Departure on 125 decimal 62 556. Cleared to Scripple via the Brooklyn Park 7 Golf departure. Departure runway 27 left. Initial climb. Flight level 060. Departure on 125. Decimal 625. Squawk 2556. Speedird 25 Yankee. Okay. 87. Speedird 25 Yankee. Read that. Correct. Ground will be on 121 decimal 9005. 121 decimal 9005. Sweeper 25 Yankee. I think they’re already um so my score should be already set in there. I think 25 Yankee ground. Good evening. Cleared to ship via the Brooklyn’s Park 7 Golf departure that has filed. Departure runway 27 left. Initial climb flight level 060. Departure on 125 decimal 62 5 squ. Okay. It was up, wouldn’t it? Okay, I’ve already um called this back, but I’ll do it again. Um cleared to skip via the Brooklyn Park 7 Golf departure. Then as filed, departure runway 27 left, initial climb, flight level 060, departure on 125, decimal 625, squawk 2556, speed bird 25 Yankee. So, that should have switched my radio now to Okay, there we go. Okay, we’re all good. Bravo with this taxi via Bravo. See how we’re doing over there. Aircraft loaded. Okay. All right. All right. All right. Okay. Let’s put the dome on. Okay. All right. Is that better? God, I tell you what, folks. I’ve got to be honest with you. You You guys who know about this uh this shoulder injury that I’ve got. Incidentally, I I’ll keep it brief. I went to see a specialist. Um, and it is a frozen shoulder. Uh, some people talking about it the other day. Um, I’ve got an MRI scan. I’m driving into London tomorrow to to to get that done. Um, and then hopefully once that’s done, um, the specialist will then figure out a procedure. He reckons that it’s going to be um a specifically um uh um it’s going to be a u No, no, no, no. the injection, the steroid, a cortisone injection. It’s going to be a cortisone injection and then followed by physio. But physio is something that I might be able to do myself. But anyway, every time I do that, that really hurts. I’ve got to be honest with you. So maybe if I just put me maybe I’ve put that up there like that. Okay. So are we done? 1 1905 109. 127 passengers. We’re all good. So, we can now send this to the MCDU. That’s all good. We’re happy with that. So, we can now close off the ground power unit. No, it’s not an injury. No. Um, one left can be closed. And we can toggle the jetway as well. Let’s just go and have a look outside. Make sure that that’s all being done. Okay. Now we can go in here. Go into depart departure pre preferences. Um, sync the live weather. Uh, calculate. Should get my numbers here. Send that to the MCDU. Go down to the MCDU. Go to the init page. Uh, import that. Request that. Uh, by the way, I’m getting this um MCDU as a physical unit, folks, which is quite interesting. Um, so I can do it rather than having to uh do it with the mouse. I can actually physically do it. And I’m also getting the FCU up here as well up up on the top. Um cost index is um 1818 and the cruise altitude 290. Okay. Go to flight plan. Go to EGLL. Go for the departure which is going to be Uh 27 left and we’re doing the um Brooklyn Park SID and then we go into E-Ham for the arrival which is going to be runway 27. Fortunately, there’s just only one 27 ILS27. And that will be um I’m reading this off here, by the way, folks. I’m reading this information off the route here. Um which I’m doubling up. And that is the Red Foot 1A. What’s that, GP? That’s the official term. What’s that? Encapsulated. Yes, indeed it is. And it’s bloody uncomfortable. It’s not very pleasant at all. So now we’ll just scroll through, see if there’s any incon discontinuities, which there is just one there. We’ll clear that out of the system. Right there. Like that. Now we should be clear all the way through. Go back to flight plan. So that’s all set. Everything’s good there. We’re um we’ve got the squawk in there. Now, the one thing that I did want to do, which is what um this is what um uh we can’t do anything there yet, can we? Um, but we can uh how is it that pitch trim on the elevator kiloond? We put it on the performance page, wasn’t it? Um, down four. Okay. So, up here we do pitch rudder and we’re going to go down. Oh, we can’t do it yet because we’re not actually Is that because the engines aren’t running? I think potentially radar identifi. Why isn’t that um Why isn’t that showing up on here? It should be showing up on there. All of these Everything’s good up there, isn’t it? Uh I’m just wondering why. He ground speedbo 25 Yankee, please advise uh Q&H. Normally it says you got a certain amount of time. Maybe this is updated and you don’t get that in there. Speedird 25 Yankee heat radar. Q&H 1 022. QH1022. Speed bird 25 Yankee. And when I go right here, you see that’s interesting. Um, see IRS now to turn to off. Oh, really? That’s right. Really? I thought I’ I’ve always put it at wait how long? 10 seconds. Always put them in at those raises. It’s It’s not. Okay. Oh, that’s peculiar. Okay. So, is that different than um 2020? Cuz I always put them in at. Okay. So, they’re coming online now. That’s all good. Um okay, there we go. Alignment 7 minutes. Okay. We got seven minutes basically. Um, thanks uh, Rab and um, who who else was it? Dean and Screaming Dean and Screaming Emu. Um, is that is that uh, a little bit confused with that though. Uh, what I am going to do is I’m going to put me um Hello, Captain. We are ready for push back. Another 7 minutes before we uh What? Right now, while I’m waiting for that, what I’m going to do is I’m going to quickly go in here, and I’m going to go departure check completed. This is what Dean was talking about earlier, folks. You can see the arrow here, which is where I’m parked at. Um, I can expand that. Um, we’re going at a 27 left. I’d imagine that we’re going to go link 56 alpha and then just follow alpha um all the way along to possibly uh holding point. Uh, and we’ll just have to work that out. But they we we’ll just have to see what they um very contact power on 124 decimal 475 speedird 5 niner climb flight level 21 speedird 5 ner heavy Uh speed bird 25 Yankee um requesting push and start gate 501 it’s going to be southeast is it speedird 25 Yankee contact he ground for push and start clearance Contact Heathrow ground for push and start clearance. Speed bird 25 Yankee. I was on Heathro ground. He put me on to um he put me. That’s interesting, isn’t it? He ground speed bird 25 Yankee requesting push and start facing southeast. Gate 51. Sorry. Speed 25 Yankee. Push and start approved. Face east. Push and start approved. Face east. Speed bird 25 Yankee. I’ll just wait for obviously everything to come on stream here. Got another six minutes before at all the lines. Um, but we are more or less ready to go. Um, still in that sort of like uh making sure I remember everything mode, but I am looking at my checklist. Push back before I No, no, no. I’m not I’m not pushing back before the IRS is aligned. PWS is on. APU is started. Uh GPU and chucks have been removed. Transponder TCAST uh set. Oh, actually hold on a minute. Let me just do that. Uh we need to do that, don’t we? To T A R A. And this needs to be selected to on as well. Um just do that for the sake of it. What we got here? Let’s just see if we got um no one. Not a sausage. Is the glove there? Nice. Okay. Okay. We do have wing cameras. We have got there’s one and there’s two other Yankee bird resource usage exceeds GPU memory capac and of course we do have um shift X as well which is which is okay. Um contact speed 0420 requesting clearance to Hammer Germany. I’m going to look for me. I’m doing a late night session, I think. They need Pinky on here, mate. They totally need Pinky on here. So, interestingly, no. Um, no, no other aircraft then. Is that something that we’ve got to um Oh, okay. Apart from that little umbrella there, Scream. down past the old I don’t know what was it was Yeah, I didn’t. Why was I supposed to do that? There’s no building behind that. It’s not Oh, were we? Oh, sugar lungs. Oh, okay. Well, that’s all right. We We can do that, right? This is where uh this is where Pinky lives now. How do I gone? Go through the cap. Go now. Hold on. There I am. There. There. There. There it is. There’s the bar. Oh, but hold on a minute. I’ve got some kind of a a nose bar on the on the front of it. What’s going on there then? It’s It’s a It’s a London cab with a with a Where are you? I don’t know. gone the toilet or something. That is fantastic, man. That is fantastic. Right. Okay. One thing I’m going to do quickly. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I’m kind of liking this. So, what we’re going to do in the future, this is this is getting us into that sort of like, you know, where we can review other people’s landings, can’t we? So, this is Alpha and Bravo basically that we’re uh we’re we’re flying down now. Alpha to my right, Bravo to my left. Oh, yeah. There’s two towers. Look, look at that. How do I go? Easy, son. Easy. Easy. How do I go up? How do I go up? How How do I go up with some Q? No. A S A W E. There we go. There’s the cold sack, folks. There it is. That’s where uh BBLLB was parked up the other day. Okay. So, we should now if we go back in. Can we go back in? Okay. Oh. Uh oh. Have I got to go all the way back? Okay, I’m back. I’m back. Okay. Um, we’re aligned. Everything is aligned. We’re all good to go. Um, right. And we’re clear for push back. Um, let’s just go outside and have a little look. Um, I’m going to put my ignition start on. I’m going to go and up here and I’m going to go to the APU bleed. Um, set that up. That’s all good. Um, just pass his captain upgrade trip. Wow, Carrie, that’s fantastic, mate. Absolutely brilliant, man. Um, okay. We are good to go. I like how this menu is a little bit more right. Um continue push back. Okay. Facing southeast. Release parking bra. Start at Okay. Starting engine. stand up. Oh, what’s going on? Okay. Right. Face me the wrong way. It’s a bit an old push back, isn’t it? So, interestingly enough, there’s no captain in there, is there? there. Oh, well. Okay. Okay. Start number two. Please set parking brakes. Waiting your confirmation for a good engine start. Auto brake set to max. All the numbers are good there. Recommend that you keep your seat belt fastened and visible at all times during the flight. Cool. If the cabin air supply fails, oxygen will be provided. Wow, the sound is unbelievably realistic. Unbelievably realistic. Wow. That is just like you’re there, is it? Place the oxygen mask over your mouth and nose and breathe. Okay, flaps one slats will come forward. Please note that the bag may not. You may need to pull the stream to release your mask. Do make sure your mask is fitted before helping anyone. Sorry. Okay, flaps one. Now, let’s just go down to here cuz uh this is something that um young Dean um told me about earlier on. So, we can go up here. So, our pitch and rudder trim is um as is shown. Oh, sorry bit um on here. flaps uh one and the setting is four down.4 degrees on the rudder trim. Um so we’re going to do that now. So we press one point. Did I say 2? Sorry. How can you forget that quick, mate? 04. Sorry. Point4. Okay. So, so just there we go. So, there you can see the trim wheels there. You can see the trim wheels, folks. That those see that moving there. That just basically trims out the um the horizontal stabilizers which the elevators are connected to. So, it just um um trims the aircraft out basically. Uh makes takeoff a little bit more smoother. Should do anyway. Um something that I uh I got to thank Dean on that one. No one else picked up on that one. Okay, so it’s showing me 340 ft. Um, uh, I’m on Q&H1022. I think we’re all good to go. Um, so, uh, just double check everything. Um, initial climb set 6,000 ft. Q&H set. Squawk set. Uh, flight controls, uh, trim checked. Um, APU bleed is off now. Um, flaps are set to one, check. Auto brake to max, check. Um, let’s just do an FNF check quickly, shall we? Um, I can release that. Release that now. Release that anything. Cockpit to ground. We have a good engine start. You can disconnect. Check. And of course we can do that internally as well um on this screen here. So we go left, right on the ailerons, elevators up. down. Rider or left. Tow truck disconnected. We’re all good to go. Left is clear. Right is clear. Right. Okay. Petra ground. Speed bird 25 Yankee. Uh looking to taxi for runway 27 left. Speed bird 25 Yankee runway 27 left taxi by a link 56 bravo link 28 November 1. Link 58 Bravo. Link 28 November 1 Speed Bird 25 Yankee. Oh, I said 58, didn’t I? It’s 56. Pifo ground correction. Link 56 Bravo link 28 November 1. speed by 25 Yankee. So, um, taxi via link 56 bravo link 28 November 1, Speedbird 25 Yankee. So, now what I want to do is just bring that up here because this is something that I’ve got to I’ve got to get me head around. So, link 56, which is here. Um, Bravo. So, we’re going to taxi. Cuz that’s going to be a very short approach. Or is that a little bit too slow? Don’t want to select flaps just yet because um see I mean I I I I mean I literally haven’t flown for weeks. Founded by aviation entrepreneur Jerry Dyer in 2016, Big Jet TV has become a household name among aviation fans, mainstream audiences and even the mainstream news channels.
With high-energy commentary, professional camera work, and real-time streaming, the channel has transformed the way people experience aviation from the ground.
At the heart of Big Jet TV’s coverage is London Heathrow Airport (LHR), the UK’s busiest aviation hub. Viewers can enjoy live streams of wide-body passenger jets, as well as cargo aircraft.
Big Jet TV’s fame skyrocketed during Storm Eunice in 2022, when millions tuned in to watch pilots attempt landings in hurricane-force crosswinds at Heathrow. The broadcast went viral, cementing the channel as the premier destination for live aviation streaming.
Big Jet TV is filmed from carefully chosen locations around Heathrow Airport. We operate from a number of exclusive filming locations positioned around the runways, including vantage points near Heathrow’s northern and western perimeter roads. These spots provide stunning, close-up views of approaching, landing, taxiing and departing aircraft.
One of the most iconic filming setups is our Ford Transit van with a custom fabricated filming platform. Equipped with camera and tripod and streaming technology, the van allows Big Jet TV to reposition quickly depending on the active runway direction and weather conditions.
Popular filming spots include The Paddock and other prime locations where fans gather to watch aircraft thunder overhead.
Beyond Heathrow, Big Jet TV also streams live from military bases including RAF Mildenhall, RAF Lakenheath and RAF Coningsby, giving viewers a broader taste of military aviation.
Internationally, the channel has provided coverage from airports around the world from afar a field as Australia, Honolulu, Japan and many International Airports in the United States. We also travel to Europe’s busiest hubs.
Big Jet TV has built a hybrid business model: free-to-view livestream Shows in Wednesdays and Sundays from London Heathrow. The show is supplemented by optional membership perks that grant access to exclusive overseas livestreams, member chat and more
But Big Jet TV is more than just plane spotting — it’s an immersive aviation experience. Hi
Happy Holidays everyone, stay safe and enjoy this special time of year.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend yesterday’s sim challenge. But thanks to Dean’s help and the chat you were in good hands. “The sky is calling!” You probably know now, in free flight if using the SimBrief, you don’t need to enter the destination paart in the flight setup page in MSFS.
Hmm. His beer seems to be yummy😀
Love watching the sim challenges altho can’t watch live but I do catch up, love the way Jerry sips that beer, mine would be gone in two gulps 😂
On the frozen shoulder…. Mine would have taken far longer if I had just done the injections and recommended exercises. A proper physio had me fixed within 3 months of the 1st jab.
