I Visited 11 Greek Islands and THIS One WINS
We’ve been to 11 Greek islands and we didn’t expect this one to blow us away the way it did. This is Lefkarta and I’m not afraid to say it’s our favorite island so far. We came here because so many of you, our subscribers and followers, told us that it was unmissable. And honestly, you were right. Learta has it all. It’s lush and green, perfectly blends bougie and local vibes, and it’s so much cheaper than what you’d find on popular islands like Mkos and Santorini. In this video, we’re going to show you everything you need to make the most of your trip, the best places to stay, the most incredible beaches we have ever seen, where to go for sunset cocktails, and of course, where to find the best local food. We’re starting our day off and we’re going to show you Le Carter. I’m so excited because this is 100% our favorite island so far. 100 million%. We’ve been here for 5 days. If you haven’t been to Le Carter yet, you have to go. You have to go. Add it to your list. And you’re going to see it is freaking wild. It’s the best the best Greek island. It’s a big call. And if you’ve been, let us know in the comments below because we would love to hear how much you loved it as well. Yeah. Um but yeah, today we’re super excited to take you along. We are going to show you everything that we love about this incredible Greek island. All right, so first up, you might want to know where the hell Lefkarta is and how how to get here. So Lefkata is in part of the Ionian Island. So if you’re thinking about Greece on a map, it’s kind of to the west side and it is close to place. It’s close to Corfu. It is close to Kefalonia and if you’ve been to those islands, you might have heard of Lefkarta. How to get here? There are several ways. There are two main ports. So we caught a ferry from Corfu and that bumpy road that took us into the Lef Carta main port. Otherwise, there is a main port down the south of the island, too, and that one is called Vasiliki. So, there are two main ports, and you can book your trip on things like Ferry Hopper, Ferry Scanner, and just sus out your destination where you’re coming from, and it’ll take you to the port that’s most easiest. One thing to note though, the fairies do not run every single day. We actually had six days originally in Le Carter, but we had to push it to seven because the ferry wasn’t running on a Thursday. We had to catch it on a Friday instead, which is actually great because we love this place so much. We’re so happy to get an extra day. an extra day. And one thing about Lefkarta 2 is that it is it’s an island, but it’s also connected to the mainland over a bridge. So you if you don’t like fairies, you can actually come from Athens. You can drive for 5 hours and then drive over a bridge. We actually went for dinner the other night and we’re going to share more about this amazing dinner place later in the video, but we had to drive across the ferry and they actually connected the two pieces of land with a boat. Oh yeah, because the bridge was broken or something. just broken. They must have been redoing it and yeah, there was a boat there. There was a boat and we like missed the turn off completely cuz we just thought it was a boat like people getting on a boat, but you had to drive through across the islands on this boat. Anyway, we’ll pop up some videos. It was actually really cool. It was pretty fun. The other thing you need to know is like to get around the island’s quite big. So, we’ve had to hire a scooter um for a couple of days. They’re like 20 to€25. I might put up the people we hired it from because they were just really nice. Very very nice. Really nice to deal with. Yeah. And um and then the car, how much was the car? The car was €4 a day. 40. Yeah. So scooter was 25, car was 40 a day. And yeah, we’ll pop up all the info cuz they were fabulous. The car is really nice cuz of the color. Yeah, it looks sick. [Music] [Music] We made it to Aio Snakitas and I can tell you it is a very very beautiful and nice beach. I can’t understand why so many people suggested it because it’s like your classic beach holiday, Euro summer vibe, sandy beach, beautiful blue water, lots of little places to eat as you come here. One thing to note is you should come early if you want to find a car park close because it does fill up. We parked a little bit further away, not too bad. Um, but a bit of a walk and we’re not in peak season right now, so in peak season it would be quite busy I’m sure, but definitely worth it. Then my favorite beach so far, Abby and I’s favorite beach so far is another one that you have to go to. And that one is called Porto Katsigi. The bluest water we have ever seen in our entire lives. No joke. It is wild. It’s like electric blue and uh there’s these big cliffs. So, you come down the big cliffs and then you hang out there. Um the water is crazy. It was not that not so busy actually and we went kind of in the afternoon, but it’s a must. You have to go there. Another one that you have to visit is Paralia Egg Remni. Now, I might be pronouncing it wrong, but who cares? It was fantastic. It was epic. So, this one is actually pretty close um to the Porto one. It’s only like a 15-inute drive and you can either just go and view it from the uh cliff which is spectacular. Such a good viewpoint or you can go down there and it’s a huge stretch of beach. So you’ll have find a place by yourself and you’ll be able to enjoy it. Yeah, it is a fair bit of a walk. So like a kilometer walk down to the beach, but well worth it and I would probably spend the day there. And there’s one more beach that you have to go to and we haven’t actually been here yet. We’re going there this afternoon. It’s called Aguio Philly and we have been recommended this by so many locals. So just keep watching and you’ll see how good it is. [Music] Okay, so we have arrived in a cute little town called Nidri and we’ve come all the way. So we actually stayed in Le Carter Town which is here and this connects to the mainland and then we just came from Agios Nikitos which is a beautiful beach but we’ve just arrived in Nidri. We’re going to walk around have a bit of a coffee and just explore this area but some of the things that you can do while you’re here in Lifarta. One is quite strange. As you can see, we’re standing in front of a billboard with beaches that have cute little black pigs and you can actually go to a Tokos Island um on a cruise and go swim with some black pigs, which is very, very cute and strange. We didn’t really have the time for it this time, but I would recommend it. We’ve seen it all over Tik Tok, so it looks fantastic. And just like every other Greek island, there is just so many water sports. So, you can hire a boat yourself for a no license boat. We haven’t done it here, but we did it in Milos and Ski Skos and it was so much fun. You don’t need a license and you can just take the boat out for the day. Otherwise, there’s always subboards, there’s jet skis, all of that sort of stuff. Otherwise, boat cruises. So, maybe wander down to Nidri, have a look around. You can go to Kefalonia for the day. You can go to Ithaca and explore some other Greek islands, which is really, really cool. We’ve also heard Scorpios is a really cool little island as well that you can actually see from the dock at Nidri. So, let’s go see it. Let’s go see it. We stumbled across this little beach club, Maribou Beach Club, and it’s pretty cute. Prices here are really good in comparison to other Greek islands. I think Abby and I were just discussing it, and like especially at this beach club, you would expect it to be like super expensive, but it’s pretty standard. I mean, we just ordered a coffee and I think it was only like €350, which is really, really good. The other thing I wanted to talk about was like the other bars and restaurants you can go to because one awesome thing about Left Carter is it has the perfect mixture of like bougie and uh you know, your classic Greek island local vibe. Thank you. Perfect. Cheers. Cheers. Thank you. Also, every place knows how to make coffee. Honestly, freaking love it. One place though that we had we went pretty much every day is called Hood 44 and their coffee was spectacular. You should go there if you’re around that area that’s in left Carter Town. And then we went to a couple of bars for well, not quite sunset for us, but if you did go at sunset, it would be spectacular. We were close and it was already spectacular. So the first one we went to is actually called Fly Me to the Moon. And it’s called that because they run and paraglide parasail parasail off this strip right next to the bar and you can watch the sunset while they do this. It’s pretty cool. And that place, Fly Me to the Moon, is owned by the same people as Rachi, which is the only restaurant you have to go to when you come to Left Carta because the food was amazing. We had a masaka and we had uh this other uh little like slow glam thing and it was phenomenal. So good. Such a good location as well. Another place you can go and hang out at is called Aante and this would be spectacular for sunset as well. Keep in mind that all these places you’ll need a book for like PK or dinner time. For the sunset, most of them are walk-in. So, if you walk in at like 600 7:00, then you can sit there and just nab your spot for the night. Watch it, enjoy the music, enjoy the vibe, and you’ll have a great time. If you’re still watching this, I hope it’s because you’re enjoying all of our hot tips and you’re loving our content. Make sure you like and subscribe for all of our upcoming videos. We promise not to disappoint you. But there are a few other places that you need to write down for your next trip to Learta. One more place is called Cafe Panorama. You can go to this during the day and have a beer or just have a snack. It has the most spectacular view of the bluest beach you have ever seen in your life. Then you need to eat at these two places. Number one is easy to get to cuz it is in left part of town. It is called KMA and it’s just beautiful traditional Greek food. And then the other one is called Nikos. This is Teao. This is his family restaurant. Nikos. And Niko is your dad. Nikico’s his dad. The food is fantastic here. You got to come and enjoy it. Cheers. Thank you. Now, this is not actually in Lefarta. You have to drive a little bit out, maybe like 10 minutes out of leak carta and you’re going to get the perfect slowcooked lamb spit, pork on a skewer, all the savaki, all of the pa, everything that you want in a traditional Greek barbecue you will get at Nikico’s and you will not be disappointed. Not to mention the service was fantastic. It’s fully familyun and you’ll just have a good time there. So, Le Carter is actually a really big sailing hub, and you’ll see when you come here, there’s so many sailboats around. I kind of wish we had one so we could go for a sail. But yeah, they’re parked absolutely everywhere. And I think if you wanted to go for a sale, you could probably book one and go and have a bit of an adventure. And one other thing as I’m walking through Nidri is that it’s quite a big town and it’s pretty cute town and I think it could be a really nice place to stay especially as a family if you just want that relaxed beach Euro vibe. [Music] Got to pay €10 for this beach, but looks pretty cool. We haven’t got there yet. Lots of people here, so it must be good. Hey, hey, hey. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you. Yeah, we are so excited. We have just checked in to our new Airbnb and we’re staying here for two nights now. We are actually located at the bottom of the island right now and we’re going to show you through. Come and have a look. Look at this beautiful, beautiful place. We have the best sea view. Can you look at that kitchen? This place is just phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. So, it’s got three bedrooms. We’ll start we’ll start we’ll finish with the good stuff outside. So, come through. Lovely bathroom. We’ve got a washing machine that we’ve already put to use. three different bedrooms. So, I guess there’s enough for maybe six or so people to stay here. And they have the most stunning views as well. And then come on through for the best. Let’s come outside. Come outside. Oh, of course the kitchen. So, fully equipped kitchen. You can make everything yourself. And then look at this absolutely beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the ocean. So yeah, when it comes to staying on the island and where you want to stay in Le Carter, there are so many different places. We are down south and this place is beautiful. We will put the information for this Airbnb down in our description. You can download our whole Airbnb list, so check that out. It’s got a ton of other recommendations as well. Otherwise, for the first half of the week, we actually stayed in Left Carter Town, and we loved it there. It’s so close to everything. So many good restaurants, there’s gyms, good coffee shops, and we had a really good Airbnb there as well. That’s also on our accommodation list. And then you can also stay in Nidri. So where we were before earlier, a lot of people do stay there. Really cute, very easy to walk around. Lots of bars, lots of restaurants, all of that sort of stuff as well. And then Agas Nikitas, some people like to stay there, too. So everywhere we’ve kind of taken you today, you can definitely stay. It just depends on sort of what you want close by. Like if you want gyms, if you want the mainland close by, then probably stay in Lata. If you want more of a beach vibe, then probably stay down here. Crisp little white wine. [Music] Cheers. [Music] So, wrapping up Left Carter, we hope that you enjoyed today’s video and saw how beautiful this island is. This island is going to be hard to beat, but someone did message us today and said that Kealonia is going to surprise us and it might actually beat this place. And that’s where we’re going next. You guys are living my wife's and I's dream life. Hopefully we are only 2 year behind ya! Thanks for sharing your journey
Loving the content guys. Greece is incredible. My favourite beach on the island is Mylos Beach. It's a sandy beach (unlike Porto Katsiki and Egremni) and it has an amazing lookout point. Takes a 20 minute hike from Agios Nikitas village to get there, but it's so worth it. As to Greek Islands that I think top Lefkada: Amorgos and Rhodes for me.
Looking forward to welcoming you back by the sea at #irisvillaslefkada! 🥂
great video again, recently started following ye. Keep up the great work
