3 Days in Takayama Japan 2026 – Best Things To Do in Takayama Japan
#japan #takayama #travel
Three peaceful days in the Japanese Alps—this is rural Japan at its most serene.
Starting in Takayama, we wandered through morning markets, cedar-lined shrines, and quiet alleys in the preserved old town. We took a slow journey to Shirakawa-go (UNESCO village), one of Japan’s most stunning traditional villages. We ended with a visit to the koi-filled canals of Hida-Furukawa—an unexpected highlight.
This trip wasn’t about rushing through famous landmarks—it was about slowing down, taking in the quiet, and seeing a side of Japan that often gets missed.

Takayama feels like a pause button on the rest of Japan. Quiet streets, koi-filled canals, and a village that looks like it hasn't changed in centuries.
If you’ve ever wanted to experience rural Japan at its calmest, this trip might be for you. Enjoy 😊
Beautiful😍
Beautiful views and video, just the color grading I think it's to much/too rich – I think the views would be enough beautiful with natural colors, nature shots look unrealistic… Keep up the amazing job!
wow! Beautiful
Very peaceful place 😍 Great Video
Great video and what a magical place 👍
I started watching your video and was immediately blown away by the quality—the colors, the clarity, everything! I thought to myself, “He’s definitely using something like the Sony a7iii… no way I could get this kind of footage with my Osmo Pocket.”
Then surprise—there it was, the shadow of the DJI Osmo on the floor! I was shocked (in the best way)! 😄
Would you mind sharing the settings, accessories, and color grading tools you used? I’d really appreciate it. Amazing work I loved the video!
Nice video. There's a great temple trail up in the hills of Takayama. A very enjoyable few hours trekking from temple to temple.
Absolutely gorgeous video, great editing.
Nice vid. I like the color grading.
When did you visit Shirakawa-go Village? I have been there in April but there was snow and little green

Thank you so much for sharing this video with us, I stumbled yesterday on the page of Takayama, and wanted to see more of it. Didn't expect to see also Shirakawa-go, which I couldn't manage to visit in the past.
Everything is so beautiful and at a slow pace, perfect for how I'd think a trip in Japan should be. Was this done in Spring, during a specific month? And thank you again 🙏
4:52 in before you actually show Takayama. You could have focused the entire video amd 3 days in Takayama and not run out things to show.
