PARIS Christmas Walking Tour 2025 ✨ PART 2: Galeries Lafayette & Montmartre [4K, 60fps]
On this walk, we take you from Passage du
Havre to the iconic Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, then continue into the heart of Montmartre, strolling through Place
du Tertre and ending with panoramic views from Sacré-Cœur. Passage du Havre and Rue de Caumartin form a lively
shopping corridor connecting Saint-Lazare with the grands magasins, and during Christmas the area becomes especially vibrant, decorated with festive lights, window
displays, and seasonal pop-ups that draw both locals and visitors. Passage du Havre, a modern covered arcade built on the former
railway yards, offers a warm, sheltered atmosphere in winter with cafés, fashion stores, and holiday shopping buzz,
while nearby Rue de Caumartin leads directly to Printemps Haussmann, one
of Paris’s most iconic department stores. At Christmas, Printemps is famous for its
elaborate themed window displays, often animated and story-driven, that have been a Parisian holiday
tradition for decades, attracting families and photographers alike. Inside, the store transforms into a luxury
winter showcase, while its rooftop terrace provides a festive pause with panoramic
views over Paris’s winter skyline. Galeries Lafayette Haussmann is one of Paris’s
ultimate Christmas destinations, transforming each winter into a spectacular holiday landmark that feels as much
like an attraction as a department store. Since the early 20th century, the store has been known
for its grand Christmas installations, and today its central atrium hosts a towering Christmas tree decorated according to a new
theme every year, often combining fashion, art, and sustainability. The surrounding balconies glow with lights and ornaments, creating a dramatic
vertical scene that draws thousands of visitors daily. Outside, the Boulevard Haussmann façades and window displays are
equally festive, making the area especially magical after dark, while inside you’ll find seasonal treats, gourmet gifts,
and a distinctly Parisian take on Christmas elegance. Don’t miss Paris Christmas Walk PART I, where we
explore the Champs-Élysées and the Tuileries Christmas Market, along with our other walking tours filmed around the world

Lafayette, completed in 1912 in Art Nouveau style, becomes the visual centerpiece of Christmas in Paris, offering
one of the city’s most photographed holiday scenes. Rising 43 meters above the main hall,
the dome glows warmly in winter as the giant Christmas tree is placed directly beneath
it, perfectly aligned with its intricate stained-glass patterns. During the Christmas season, special lighting enhances the dome’s colors,
creating a cathedral-like atmosphere that feels both festive and timeless. Standing beneath it, surrounded by holiday music and decorations, is a uniquely
Parisian experience that blends architectural heritage with modern Christmas spectacle. Montmartre takes on a quieter, more romantic character at Christmas, offering
a contrast to the grandeur of central Paris shopping districts. Its winding streets, staircases, and village-like
squares are softly illuminated with festive lights, while small cafés and bakeries
glow invitingly against the winter chill. The neighborhood’s artistic spirit feels especially alive
during the holidays, as street musicians, painters, and locals mingle in an atmosphere
that feels intimate rather than commercial. Light crowds, crisp winter air, and occasional views over misty Paris
rooftops make Montmartre at Christmas feel nostalgic, poetic, and distinctly authentic. Place du Tertre, the historic heart of Montmartre’s
artist community, becomes particularly charming during Christmas, with subtle decorations, twinkling lights,
and easels set against a winter backdrop. Long associated with painters like Picasso and Utrillo,
the square maintains its bohemian identity even in the holiday season, when artists continue
creating portraits and landscapes despite the cold. Cafés around the square serve hot drinks
and seasonal dishes, and the slower winter pace allows visitors to appreciate the square’s history
and atmosphere without the intense summer crowds. At Christmas, Place du Tertre feels less like a tourist
hotspot and more like a living village square. The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, perched atop Montmartre, is one
of the most atmospheric places in Paris during Christmas, offering breathtaking panoramic views
over the city’s winter lights. Built in the late 19th century and made
of white travertine stone that naturally stays bright, the basilica stands out beautifully
against grey winter skies and early sunsets. During the holiday season, the steps and surrounding
area are often filled with visitors enjoying the view, while the interior provides a calm,
reflective space decorated with subtle seasonal touches. From the terrace, Paris stretches out below
like a sea of golden lights, making Sacré-Cœur at Christmas one of the most
memorable viewpoints in the city. ♡ THANKS FOR WATCHING ♡ If you enjoyed this video, please like this video and
