Finding Peace Outside Tokyo, My Easy Healthy Dinner Recipe | Realistic vlog
Welcome to this week’s video~ Right now I’m in Kamakura, but I stopped at a 7-Eleven quickly just to get some water and a quick vitamin C shot I’m currently walking to the bamboo forest (Hokoku-ji) so I made a quick pit stop, but I’m gonna get back out there. I still have 25 minutes to go. (why does this shot make me seem 7ft tall) Walking through the local neighborhoods After half an hour of walking, I reached Hokokuji Temple Immediately inside is a beautiful garden There were so many little hidden walkways inside For example, this staircase which leads up to the temple People taking pictures with the autumn leaves I saw little frogs in the little stream along the walkway Outside the temple area, there are wild koi fish All right, quick update. So from Kamakura station, I walked 30 minutes to go to a temple, I could have taken the bus, but I was like, whatever, I’m just going to walk. And so now that I’ve seen the temple, I’m thinking I should go back toward Kamakura station and either check out the Buddhist temple area with the giant statue, or just the local stores. I’m not sure, but I think they’re both back toward the station. So I’m going to walk back 30 minutes now, and head back that way. But yeah, it was so beautiful up here~ Back on the main road For a quick lunch, I found a small & empty udon shop Pork udon with an added egg I’m at the great Buddhist statue in Kamakura right now. Took the bus here. I definitely recommend taking the bus. Having walked 30 minutes to the temple, and having taken the bus, which would have been a 30 minute walk to the statue, I highly recommend taking the bus. I got to see like local neighborhoods when I walked, but it just saved so much time to take the bus. Gift stalls selling various fortune charms “charm for traffic safety” “charm for good health” “charm to avoid your calamities” “charm for passing an exam” “charm to make your leg strong” There’s another shop hidden slightly behind the main area There is a line outside of the Buddha statue, wrapping around it, and I asked someone what it was for and apparently it’s to go inside of the statue. So you can actually go inside. I have no idea what it looks like or how big it is in there I don’t think I’m going to wait for that. But, thought that was kind of interesting Before heading back to the station, I wanted to walk around the local area here for a little “Thank you for waiting” “We will soon arrive at the last stop, Kamakura Station” The main shopping street was full of things to see Even unique places to stand and eat All right. I’m back in my apartment. I’m going to keep my hat on because my hair is messy, but I’m going to make a quick and easy dinner. This is a very healthy and very easy dinner We have seaweed, brown rice, two avocados, and salmon. That’s it. That’s all you need. Just these four things. I also bought this, along with my groceries, I’m officially a real salaryman. I’m just going to cut this into small pieces. Adding some sesame oil for flavor Beautiful~ slightly brown finish~ The seed perfectly fell out Alright- it doesn’t have to look perfect. It doesn’t even have to look pretty, because you’ll see in a minute. Just for some flavor Okay, now I’m going to plate everything. So there’s salmon, the rice and the avocado. I’m going to put it on a plate. Just the three things separated. Ok- so this is what it looks like after I plated it. I put a little bit of seasoning on the salmon. The avocados are a little salted, and I just left the brown rice, as is. Okay! This is the completed meal. Seaweed, salmon, avocado and brown rice. Oh, Oh! A little bit of sriracha The Korean seaweed tastes the best- the salted one. But the Japanese one is good too. Add some rice. The best thing about this dinner is that you can do it to your own preference because it’s cUsTomiZED~ You can customize it to your own preference Add a little bit of salmon, and then some avocado. You can also add mayo instead of sriracha, but I like spice. Just like that. Omg it fell out Okay, just like that. I think the only way it could taste bad is if you don’t add any seasoning to the salmon or avocado. Maybe it might taste a bit plain, but yeah, it tastes good. Sriracha really- Sriracha really helps. Cheers~ This camera height is really awkward because I put my phone on a tripod, but it’s not standing level and it’s not sitting level, so it’s just me weirdly like hunching forward. Ummm The more you know, Since I didn’t go inside the Buddha statue, I want to show what it looks like. Obviously you can google it yourself, but I’m just going to show you since you’re here anyway. So I Google’d “Inside Kamakura statue” And this is what it looks like. Hold on It’s kind of hard to make out the pictures. I think it’s just this small little area. And at the top of it is kind of a- what looks like a hole that goes into the top of the statue. Because when I Google it, all the pictures are just of that top hole- I don’t know I don’t know what’s going on there. Cracking open another pack of seaweed Another thing this is also good for is if you eat really fast, this will slow you down because you have to handmake each wrap. I’m someone that eats really fast. As soon as I turn on Netflix and I have my food in front of me, like I just inhale it. Like I eat so fast and it’s really bad. So this is more fun to eat. Also shoutout to Aelfric Eden for sending me this cute jacket! I really like the colors I’m gonna link it in the bio All right, guys, that’s it for this video. Thank you for joining me on my day trip. My cheeks are slightly blushed from like four sips of beer, which is so embarrassing. But yeah, I’ll catch you guys next week and hope you have a fantastic week.
Finding peace outside the hustle of Tokyo in Kamakura! I visited the Hokoku-ji temple and the Great Buddha statue, then made my go-to healthy dinner at home. It was nice getting out of the city, even if just for a day. I’m feeling more and more mentally refreshed 🙂

I would like to humbly and sincerely apologize for cutting an avocado wrong. I will reflect upon my actions going forward 🧎🏻♀️➡️
Japan's nature is one of the biggest reasons I'd like to go to Japan some time. It all seems so serene and nice.
какая ты симпатичная 😊
Thank you for your videos. I nether comment at all on YouTube. I’d been watching a lot of salaryman content about the tough work–life balance in Tokyo, something I’ve been struggling with myself. Then I came across your channel by chance, and your positivity and courage to work abroad really stood out to me. as I would love to travel outside of England more often. It’s genuinely inspiring. Keep going with the positive vibes – you should be proud that you’re having such a positive impact on people. If you’re passionate about travelling and seeing more of the world, the UK is always worth exploring — the landscapes, cities, and culture offer a completely different side of the globe.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I actually went to Kamakura and saw the Great Buddha four months ago, too. It was much bigger than I expected, and I was really astonished by its size and the casting technology they had back then.
will u make a ‘grwm’ vid?
♥♥
Where's the fish grill? It would make it a lot easier to cook the salmon with that.
Love seeing you smile and it’s nice to see you happy (I hope your are). I wish for nothing but good things for you and for you to be happy in your life, Shan.
Tasty dinner 😋
Hi Shannon, last week I was in Ginza, Tokyo, 1st time in Japan btw 😊
Always nice watching your vlogs on a Monday morning 🙂
You are a lovely young lady. Wish I was younger haha
I loved when I visited Kamakura couple months ago
You are too beautiful 🌸
The beer blush just makes you look even more beautiful 🌹
Hey Shannon, I was wondering how you're so good at spending time by yourself and having fun by yourself. If not with the few friends that I have, I don't like going out and exploring, but I wish I knew how to, so I can have fun even by myself.
Great for you, what a chill journey. Pretty peaceful outing as Kamakura goes.
I took Friday off and spent two nights in Kyoto. The tension with China made a noticeable dent in the crowds, it was great!
Cool.
Greetings from Brasil.
there's no way this girl is single. she is a freaking 10/10. Japan has sunshine cause she is living there. she IS the rising sun haha
Shannon if earth was god's only creation or if god was just this. it would make me very sad. i thought god was more, hope god is more.
Haters will say that she isn't 7 ft tall
❤🐍
Meeeaw 😽
I might move to Japan, but not for the country.
do salary mens drink alcohol ? is there such a thing ?
great vlog once again
always tough to do stuff on your own like you said, I recently started hiking around on my own. Once you get used to it it's not too bad. I recommend if you like fauna and flora, to try out INaturalist, you can document plants and animals while exploring, its fun!
Amazing Smile!

Watching all this walking makes remember that i will be dead the first couple days when i visit japan for the first time next month 😂 😩
