Trainhopping The Okanagan

Travelling on the Okanagan train from Vernon to Kamloops for the second time. 22 hours through one of British Columbia’s most stunning regions on the ex Kelowna Pacific Railway.

From the quiet industrial edges of Vernon to the sweeping mountain views of the North Okanagan and along the South Thompson River. Incredible scenery, rugged landscapes, and the thrill of catching out on a moving freight.

Thanks to the homie @Richstateproductions for helping get this done.

  1. I live in Lumby a few mile east of Vernon where you got on the train at Polson park. I have always wanted to ride the train from Lumby to Kamloops. Thank you for making this video.

  2. all of this trackage is getting redone, so trackspeed will likely be a lot higher in 2026, and steam from the Kamloops Heritage Railway will be running through the Okanagan sub. Lots to look forward to!

  3. Lmao 🤣 so, train jumping which is illegal, dangerous and basically ASININE ‼️ is a thing now? Nah …we will be hearing about your carcass on the track soon I bet …Darwin awards coming up

  4. Just thought you wanted to know that this video has been sent to the CN Police, CPKC Police as well as the BC RCMP. Hope your next trespassing excursion ends in tragedy!🤣🤣🤣

  5. Gnarly grade coming down into Kamloops from Monte creek, always wanted to see the path the railway took through there. Cool video, can't believe the babies in the comments though. I wouldn't suggest anyone to do this, but I am surprised people would go out of their way to report you. In the future wear a mask if you are going to post locations or aim a camera at your face. Safe Travels!

  6. 22 hours is a serious commitment to hopping. Crazy noisy too. I only heard of one person who rode the rails since the 1930s… that was a co-worker in the mid-80s. The view is epic and canon. Thank you. Stay safe.

  7. I hopped freights a few times back in the 80s… I'm curious why you don't "move up" to the slave engines in the middle. There's a (very) small toilet, where you can hide if security comes by, two fairly comfy chairs and they always used to leave the radios on so you could hear what the engineer was doing.

Thanks for the vid, I'll check out more of your work!
