Alone in the Wild Drakensberg ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ vA28-S2

I ride from Barkly East to a very remote farm, on my way to Lesotho, through one of most remote parts of South Africa, in Drakensberg (Eastern Cape).
Another glorious day in the mountains, on the wonderful South African gravel roads.
I arrive in a very odd king of mountain shelter, where no one is here to welcome me, yet a big house is ready for me. I look around and I find some relaxed workers living in a strange empty paradise.

  2. Whow! Every farm produces food or meat or milk to contribute in feeding the South African nation. Every farm that disappears is one farm less out of the productive cycle, while the population explodes! The outcome will be catastrophic! Look at Zim …….

  3. Your reply will make me a happiest man in this world….. what i like about you is that you are showing the whole world what is like being like to travel the world… I'm a south african anyway you by showing me my whole country is out of this world and I'm glad you got a positive experience.. i LOVE YOU KINO YVES ….. in this country GOD is watching you and we will also do that as umphakahi "community"
But mostly is that just must get to know south africa better, though I'm a south african but I don't know the whole south africa.. I'm feel emotional as I'm typing

  4. In Lesotho you will come across the famous "Basotho ponies", a horse breed that developed over many years, hardened and accustomed to the high mountains and snow in Lesotho. From them and cross breeding with Arabian horses comes the well-known "Nooitgedacht" horses, very popular, hardened, good temperament horses.

  5. Wish you could have make it to Rhodes Village, Yves. You were so close! My most favorite, most remote and most beautiful little town in the whole of South Africa!! Anyway, the same area you travelled is now sรณ green, it almost hurt your eyes! ๐Ÿ‘€

  6. You need wind screen for your camera, this will dramatically improve your audio quality. please upvote/like this comment so Yves could see this ! Even self made windscreen will do.

  7. My Isted family are farmers in the Wartrail to Lady Grey area. The sons continue farming over the ages. My grandfather moved to Rhodes after retirement from permanent force in Cape Town in the early 1950's. He sold his house in 1969 for a pittance. It's a pity Kino did not go through Rhodes to Tiffendale and down to Wartrail, but that would have been very difficult in his tricycle. He missed the best scenery.

  8. Almost a year that we are in South Africa. I was wondering if you were going to settle there permanently or if you were actually going to leave one day. Joking aside, I love this country (I go there four times a year for work), but I'm really looking forward to seeing other places; Mozambique, for example, a country I've never been to. I'm sure you'll be very nostalgic when you leave South Africa (Lesotho is a bad example because you'll be back in South Africa very soon), but it will be the start of new adventures: new landscapes, new stories, and unforgettable encounters. Bon voyage l'ami.

  9. Bro you need to check out Zanzibar for Durian, and next time you're in La Reunion I know one Indian guy there growing DURIAN on the island. This started back in 2015. You need to ask around because I bet you can actually get Durian there now. And I heard the same for Zanzibar and some other East Africa countries.
Bro big up you ate that Durian like a pro.
