  1. My humble opinion…
    1) They should close off the Moi Avenue service lanes and pave them fully (with interesting patterns) to become public squares.
    2) Relocate the palms and plant Jacaranda in parallel to form a canopy tunnel.
    3) Inhibit people from sitting on the walls. That is one matatu swerve away from disaster.
    3) Provide metered electrical outlets for events and new restrooms/toilets/drinking fountains. The county can make revenue by renting out sq meters by the day to vendors, event planners, brand promoters, stage performances and more.

  2. Nairobi is not anywhere close to the first world narrative being sold by some dishonest character. Lots of work needs to be done especially infrastructure and choas, commotion in Nairobi CBD. I wonder why whoever is doing the cabro works does not do one section at time, finish and then move to another one and finish. But this work is a good first step towards restoring Nairobi back to greatness.

  3. Hey Shifting News. You're really doing a great job. Im out here in Texas and like all your videos. Keeps me in touch with home. I always find it amusing when you mention that the new walls in the cbd "are good for people to come sit and relax". The cbd is already full of matatus and folks just leaving the their house to come to the cbd to relax is stretching it. Aren't they the same ones leaving trash along the sitting areas? Just wondering. Otherwise, great job 👏

  4. Walking along the cabros recently,I have noticed that they are not intact and are yet to be compacted together.Perhaps maybe they want to finish all ground works and all installations before final compaction.

  5. Iam happy coze any of my comments seems to be followed keenly coze icommented in one of your blogs commenting about putting of cabros on kencom and achives and it came to pass which ippreciate. Again iwant you to take awalk along uhuru highway starting along parliament up to westlands by foot not by matatus you willfind that when you are on foot that road look very bad there no walking parth. Ithink sakaja should also look on that and many other roads along nairobi . They should take awalk along G.C.T center at west land .you willrealise that you are in differeny world imean thats how amake over should be like.

  6. You can see what the chaos from matatus and hawkers have done to the city's downtown. But for some reason, our politicians aren't willing to ban them from the CBD. You just wonder why? Do they enjoy the chaos? If the majority of the citizens want them out, why not do it?

  7. where those nganyas are stopping on your left from kina archive to railways and beyond should be reserved for only electric smart buses and maybe a tram, those buildings as well should be pulled down and modern attractive buildings erected. where they reach now in terms of height should be like the mezzanine or parking level height. the another section coming from the top, tall glass marvel. people bring down buildings to build the same building that was there before, look at nakumatt downtown, nairobi stalls building etc, they should get creative and spark a conversation somewhere in peoples minds.
an underground monorail would'nt hurt as well

  8. kitu nashagaa na Kenya ., i know things are to be done perfectly bila haraka ., but come on imagine a kasmall area taking contractors almost 2 weeks kuifanya., you have quoted the money what is limiting you to do the job just once and move to the next area .,pesa utalipwa ni ile ile tuu , watu washenzii saana., soo wanaacha tu cabros laying around not compacted

  9. Poor poor work, why don't they fix one street at time instead of digging and leaving mountains of Sand in the CBD, and then this giant rocks always on the roads, why cant they be removed, everything is everywhere, no road markings, no traffic lights working, pitholes in the CBD, Bodas park everywhere, no Police patrol during day and night, aah we need to do better, this Politicians are doing nothing, how can you take us to Singapoor when basic stuff like order and cleanless cannot be observed?!

  10. I just saw a video of Mombasa CBD. Even though the buildings are very old, the place gives a calming pleasant feeling. That made me think of Nairobi and the growing number of billboards and building signage that takes away from the beauty of the buildings and the only thought that came to my mind, unfortunately, is that Nairobi portrays a "mindless pursuit of money" with no thought for balance.

  11. They should transplant Jacaranda trees or Nandi Flames instead of those emaciated palm trees. They provide better shade and when in full bloom they provide beauty.

  12. My biggest worry is the street and pedestrian walk drainage system. Is the county also working on proper drainage. When it will rain heavily and there's no proper drainage it will destroy the pedestrian walk pavement/cabros.
