Central & Eastern Switzerland Travel Guide | Dream Places & Scenic Views

Our late-March journey through Switzerland turned into an unforgettable experience as we explored the highlights of central and eastern Switzerland on a 2-day guided bus tour with Meier Tours. Based in Zurich, we enjoyed sweeping views of the city and Lake Zurich, passed vineyards and charming neighborhoods, and experienced the city’s efficient transport and vibrant streets.

A day trip to Lucerne revealed postcard-perfect scenes of Lake Lucerne and the historic Chapel Bridge over the Reuss River, set against stunning alpine backdrops. The adventure continued with an ascent to Mount Pilatus, where the gondola ride and steep descent felt like a roller-coaster in slow motion—crowded, thrilling, and unforgettable—offering dramatic alpine views even through hazy skies.

Our eastern Switzerland journey led us through picturesque Heidiland, famous from the story of Heidi, with its traditional timber houses, grazing goats, pine forests, and storybook villages. Passing through scenic valleys and towns like Wattwil, we witnessed Switzerland’s countryside traditions before crossing into the Principality of Liechtenstein, one of Europe’s smallest countries, known for its lively streets, cultural landmarks, and unique charm.

From serene lakes and fairytale villages to thrilling mountain descents and breathtaking alpine scenery, every turn felt magical and every moment unforgettable—Switzerland truly felt like a dream come alive.
