in 2024 the total cost of a trip to Japan for a family of 2+1 was 9k eur. includes plane tickets from Europe, hotels, jr passes, other trains and passes. food was cheap, shopping is personal thing
Great travel tips. Arigatou! ✈🇯🇵
I got lucky on a Super Sale from ANA and got HND To Okinawa flight for 80 dollars! It was normally 200+
Excellent video. Going for our 4th trip soon. First time we went 2 years ago I had not found your channel spent so much money. Then when I discovered Ken chan I changed how I did everything . We spend less, see more and eat better. Thanks so much. I really like the presentation of these videos.
Is there any chance to expect snowfall on first week of December in sapporo/hokaido?
It's still cheap. Go to New Zealand. The prices for food, petrol, car rentals and hotels are insane. Even if you x4 the Japanese prices, you still won't come close. So don't worry too much. Compared to New Zealand, Japan will always be more affordable. I took my wife and 2 grandchildren 2 years ago from Australia. Return airfares plus a rental car for 2 weeks and hotels was 15k in Australian dollars. Petrol was over $3 a litre. Insane scenery though.
Thank you Ken san another informative video. I am loving the little animations! Did you do these yourself ?
Thank you for another great video 👍
Great tips, Kengo san! 👏🏼🥰🌸🥷⛩
Interesting video Kengo-San.
For my trip in March/April next year I am averaging just under 12000JPY per night, and have a daily budget of around 10000JPY for food and activities. 115000 for the two week green car JR Pass (I save a little over buying cash tickets). For the flight I am spending around 360000 JPY but that is business class and I could travel a lot cheaper if I chose to. For me, if the flight is going to be around 15 hours, the added price is worth the comfort.
The biggest expense therefore is the flight and train. Once I'm in Japan I view the price as very reasonable, and if I want to splash out on some nice meals I can do so happily, saving some money by eating at chain restaurants some of the time.
I love your videos, I'm excited to go to Japan in december and enjoy new year's eve with my friends, thanks for the tips and info! greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Very informative video Kenchan! I really agree with you that airfare and accomodation form the biggest part of the travel budget.. My personal travel cost to Japan last Mar 2024 was averaged at a total of $1,600 for 8 days.. I have 2 companions that time so the accomodation cost was divided into 3 persons.. Thank you for sharing this one 👍
Another great and informative video. To save money, I usually only eat dinner.
you hit the nail on the head with the list of expenses.
I always start my budget by first considering, flight, hotel, train costs.
Japan travel by navitime also has a great Japan Rail Pass Calculator to see if the JR Pass would be worth the price.
great video. what would you say is the best time of year for a first time visitor? also, any tips for vegetarians? thank you and best wishes for 2026 from canada
