There's a lot of reasons why people don't want to go to the US any longer! I guess it' s difficult there to find out what all is going on there to lock out influences from abroad! There's tons of more than costy visas – which are no guarantee for being allowed to enter!
As an European I would love to put some visa bans on dangerous fascists like Vance or Musk, but it is probably a good thing our politicians are smarter than that and just wait until the orange guy is gone or dead. Less satisfying, but smarter.

The things is most Americans don't understand, that there is a difference between Europe and the USA in terms of freedom of speech. In America you have freedom of speech and in Europe we have freedom of opinion. Freedom of speech protects lies and hate speech to a certain degree. In Europe those things don't fall under freedom of opinion. An example I can give, is that you can say in the US: "Trump is a criminal and a pedophile". In Europe you have to frame it as: "I suspect Trump is a criminal and a pedophile". There fore if you publish things as facts that are opinions you have to make it clear that those are opinions. Freedom of speech allows people to blur the lines between opinions and facts and even worse to get away with blunt disinformation.

The EU has different laws, if you want to do business here you have to follow those laws.

For, let us remember, the United States has only existed for 250 years, while some European countries have existed for over a thousand years, and our laws are the product of the lessons of our history, including our mistakes.
In countries like France, making anti-Semitic or racist remarks, glorifying Nazism, or denying the Holocaust are crimes punishable by prison sentences and fines.
When a tech CEO, who also heads a social network and holds a government position (Elon Musk, to name one), supports and encourages people to vote for a far-right extremist party (the AfD), or when the vice president meets with the leader of said party but refuses to meet with the country's leader, one can legitimately question their respect for the laws of these countries.
Similarly, when certain tech CEOs interfere in European elections, even though these individuals (Elon Musk, for example) hold official government positions and claim to support a party and encourage voters to participate, when the EU fines certain social media platforms for disseminating hateful, racist, and anti-Semitic messages, and when these tech moguls express outrage, they turn to Donald Trump to try to erase all traces of their past. When it comes to freedom of expression, I think the United States would do better to look at itself rather than compare its practices to those of others, because when news agencies are excluded from government press conferences and replaced by pro-Trump influencers, or when the president insults journalists and issues executive orders that are highly questionable under the Constitution, it is fair to say that freedom of expression is more threatened in America than in Europe.

as a MOM – or a family – we would really have loved to go to Universal and Disneyworld with our kids
BUT since we are now supposed to lay open all social media accounts I'd wager a guess at least one of us would not be allowed to enter anway –
so we decided to go to Tokyo – where we feel safer.
And I think my activities (like I myself have blocked all official Trumo accounts, because not my point of view – not commenting or anything I just do not want to see anything he and his crownies send out) I would for certain not be allowed in the US at the moment.

Usa is denying visas for saying anything donald trump doesn't like. Like being saying that you don't like donald trump wanting to take over Greenland or Canda, not liking donald trump doing illegal strikes on random fishing boats and callingthem terrorists, wanting to have human rights for LGBTQ, not liking fascists and so on are just a few things that can get you being denied a visa to the USA.
Never mentioned the reason the EU fine X. Non compliancy with transparency laws and the refusal to comply with regulations.
