I'm originally from Yemen was living in Malaysia for 3 years then moved to Canada and now I'm feeling every words you said but I'm coming back 😅😅
All these countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. are great for tourism but moving there as a westerner poses significant cultural integration challenges. It's just not the same as moving to Australia, NZ or the US. You don't know the language, you have no understanding of their culture, you will always be seen as either a tourist or a temporary digital nomad type. You can't really put roots there, feel like you're part of that society. But yea it's a great place for screwing around when you want time off from the dreadful UK. The best places for Europeans to relocate are still those countries settled by Europeans – US, Canada, NZ, AUS. Yes they are expensive but really are the only acceptable options for cultural integration if you are from Europe. I won't mention South Africa since it's a failing state with tons of race relations issues.
