This issue happens almost every time I switch 20lb propane tanks. Usually I can smack and flip it around and it starts working again but now I can't seem to get it to work.

Any idea on what's going on here and how to fix it?

If you are using the 1lb tanks then im not sure what it is. If you are using a big tank and a hose then its probably dirty propane clogging your valve. If you do a extension they recommend their hose because it has a filter in it. Talked to a propane guy, 1lb tanks are extra clean. Gas station tank fills are less refined. Clogs the needle where ur pilot flame comes out

Is the tank cold? Sometimes the propane in really cold tanks doesn’t have enough pressure.

  3. When you open the valve on a 20lb tank you need to open it very slowly otherwise you flip the safety valve that restricts gas flow.

I had this problem and found out I was using the wrong type of hose. Not sure if that is what is going on but something to check into.

do you have a filter in line on the hose? between the tank and the heater. these heaters require this on 20lb tanks and up.

  6. You need one of those hoses with a pressure regulator. Also I believe some of the hoses have some oil that creates build up.
