Experience the entire el Camino de Santiago French Way pilgrimage in this documentary as I walk the legendary Camino Frances from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela, and continue onward to the dramatic coast of Finisterre. This film captures my full (mostly)
solo pilgrimage journey across northern Spain on the Camino Frances, exploring the spiritual, physical, and emotional challenges of the Camino. From the Pyrenees to the “end of the world”, this documentary offers a POV dive into the history, culture, and profound personal transformation that the Camino inspires. Whether you’re planning your own pilgrimage or simply fascinated by this ancient path, this movie provides a comprehensive look at the full Camino experience. Buen Camino! Ultreia et Suseia!

  1. Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I am considering walking the Camino for my 75th birthday next year, and your walk has given me confidence. Also, I want to say that I think we are distantly related. My grandparents are all from England – Lancashire and London – you look very much like my niece, and many in our family have red hair. My grandparents last names were Burns and Pizey.

  2. I loved watching your journey Kate, thank you for sharing this documentary. I am planning to walk next year and have just started my research into which route to take so your video has been so helpful and really beautiful and touching to watch as well. Well done, it feels so authentic and honest. Well done.

  3. I have watched many Camino videos, and many are very good, but this is by far the best.
I feel so much gratitude to people who take the time to do this and share the incredible experience of the Camino. I have done sections of both the Camino Frances and the Camino Portuguese. Each time, I watched videos of those who had gone before to prepare. I find them to be very helpful.
No one should underestimate what it took to make such a magnificent documentary. I tried and gave up. Carrying a camera, backpack, and negotiating difficult terrain while also narrating your experience is a great skill. Well done, Kate, and thanks ❤

  4. I really enjoyed watching this documentary, Kate ! It is so inspiring ! Thank you for sharing your journey and hope I can find the courage to do the same 😊

  5. I am so happy , just watching your video… it is so wonderful , so nice , thank you so much for sharing your Camino with us. Love from Germany, Alex 😊💚

  6. Had to split this into two watches, but I do like it very much. You're so nice, and I would have been pleased to encounter you along the Way.

One comment — it actually is NOT socially acceptable in a Spanish bar or café to start openly picking at your blisters etc. OK in some VERY pilgrim-oriented establishments on the Francès ONLY ; but NOT anywhere else, including not on any other Camino routes, and NOT in the cafés or bars along the Francès serving Spanish "normies" at the same time as pilgrims.

I am so happy that you had such a good arrival.

  7. I love how you talk about your “Britishness.” I’m going to start saying “my Canadianness” from now on, and then apologize (like any good Canadian). 😅p.s. Thank you for this lovely video of your experience on the Camino! ❤

  8. Hello Kate , Just watched this on a rainy day in London, I walked from Saint Jean to Pamplona in September, I’ve wanted to walk the Camino for a number of years, but for various reasons haven’t got got round to it ,finally I had a week off in September and decided it’s now or never, even though I didn’t have time to do the full walk, the time I had was wonderful, I think about those days and the people I met every day and long for it , I didn’t want to watch your video at first because I thought it would make me sad I wasn’t there , but it’s so beautifully filmed and that along with your monologues , it has really lifted me in spirit and I look forward to going back and doing some more stages next year , I wonder if you have considered writing a book about your experiences?

  9. Thank you so much for an amazing and informative video! I just have a question regarding booking your stays. Where do you get the phone numbers for the albergues to confirm bookings before arrival? Is there an app or a guide for that? Thank you!
