  1. Hello all, I’m traveling to Amman in early December for 3 days. I’m looking for advice on tour companies and any recommendations for how to get the best deals and best places to visit. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

  2. We did a driving tour of Jordan. We picked up the car at the airport after several days in Amman. It was a little daunting for a 60+ American. But we’d prepared very well ahead of time. Got our international driving permit from AAA. Researched the culture and primary locations we wanted to see. And we definitely left plenty of time for spending extra hours or days in places that were worthy of it. We drove nearly the entire length of Jordan, starting in Amman and finishing at a dive resort maybe 20-30 south of Aqaba center. I had to see Wadi Rum and Aqaba, by the way, because they played a large part in the film Lawrence of Arabia.

The entire trip was perhaps the best trip of our lives, from eating breakfast with locals at a walk-up bakery in Amman, to floating on the Dead Sea at one of the day resorts, to walking among the ruins of a Knights Templar castle, to Petra!, Wadi Rum (movie locations for Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars, among many others), and Aqaba. We stayed at a dive resort in Aqaba and paid for a 2-day dive adventure (we are advanced open water dive certified, and I suggest getting that done before you go). There was so much more, including Roman ruins inside Amman city limits and also in Petra. We didn’t go north of Amman due to the military action that was ongoing in Syria at the time. And we didn’t venture across the border to Israel because we were living and working in Abu Dhabi then. We wouldn’t have been able to re-enter the UAE with an Israeli stamp in out passports. Don’t know if that has changed since we left.

Last word…if you have even one adventurous bone in your body, go to Jordan! Even consider a driving trip and do not over-book your time. We did 2 weeks and it was a good fit for what we did. Enjoy!

  3. do not visit Petra from Israel. when you do this, those locals miss out on a lot. You are spending the money anyway. Go stay in Jordan to visit Petra. You won't regret it.

  4. Thank you for taking the time to make this great video. You seem like a very enthusiastic and passionate guy, and your videos are a joy to watch. Cheers!

  5. Thank you for the video coming to my country Jordan greetings to you and your wife and I wish you success and lasting success only one thing we in Jordan there is no tip 😊❤

  6. first of all i hope you enjoyed your trip in jordan but as you know that tourists would never have the time to get to see everything or trying the best food because it takes time to know the places as any other county , but for me as a Jordanian i feel so happy to see people from all over the world visiting us and enjoying there time here , first time im watching your channel and as an drama director i have to say that you're doing a good job with your video quality and the best is the simplicity. wish you luck and welcome to jordan anytime 😊

  7. Great video, however, you said something wrong when you said coming from Israhell, there is no such thing called Israhell, it's Palestine.

  8. Wolters, JORDAN 🇯🇴 IS PART OF THE HOLY LAND. WHY DID YOU NOT VISIT SOME OF THE HOLY SITES LIKE BAPTISMAL SITE WHERE OUR LORD JESUS WAS BAPTIZED BY JOHN THE BAPTIST AND other holy Christian sites ✝️💒🙏✡️💐🌹💖?😊

  9. Zataar does not rhyme with guitar. The first syllable gets the accent ZAT-ahr. La shukran are two distinct words. Don't run them together like you did – lashukran.

  10. My wife and I, with a guided group, spent seven days walking and camping in the Jordanian desert, and entered Petra the back way. The treasury was the last thing we saw. Our guide, Yaman, had us hold hands and close our eyes, and he led us around to the treasury, lined us up, and said "Now look!" I still get tears remembering what an emotional experience it was, done that way.

  11. I was in Jordan for two weeks in 2009, and it was my most favourite holiday of all time. People were so hospitable, my mom had died six month before and I was in tears at their kindness. When I was in Petra, we could go inside the treasury, there were some high empty rooms. I liked Mount Nebo (great views, we could even see Jerusalem in the distance), and Aquaba if you like shopping spices. We had a stay at a desert camp in Wadi Rum booked, it was really awesome. Jordan has a really special place in my heart. Perhaps do a video on Jordanian food only?

  12. As an American I have to say that I would never drive in Amman. It's extremely hilly, with many very narrow side streets and one way streets. Lots of local drivers trying to sneak in, getting too close, etc. The Amman airport is actually quite far from central Amman and getting a car there is not going to give you an idea of what the city streets are like. They are not for the faint of heart.
Also, FYI Amman is not pronounced with an "O" sound. The country Oman is. Amman has a soft "A" sound.

  13. I enjoyed this. It’s on the list to come here. I’ve added these don’t tips as they’re really good. I have a couple of ones I’d realised. Like not to dress as a knight and approach people saying, “You chose… wisely!” Or humming the theme tune to Indiana Jones everywhere.

  14. I love that the American travellers always tip the tour guides whenever I go on a tour. I do too, although we aren’t as good at tipping in the UK generally. They deserve one and most places I’ve been they don’t get great pay. Their knowledge is always so helpful and it’s good when I’ve done one early I’ve always benefitted on the following days from what they tell us.
