Why Zakopane Is So Popular in Winter

Is Zakopane, Poland really worth visiting in winter? 🇵🇱❄️
In this vlog, we travel from Kraków to Zakopane to experience the town during the winter season — exploring its streets, food, markets, mountains, and crowds to see what it’s actually like.

After arriving and checking in, we head straight to the heart of the city to explore the famous Krupówki street, filled with souvenir shops, street food, and lively winter vibes. We stop for a traditional Polish meal at Hotel Sabała, where we enjoy classic dishes like żurek soup, regional beer, and warming grzane wino.

Later, we visit a festive Polish jarmark, browsing local handicrafts and tasting winter street food such as gulasz and grilled kiełbasa. The next day, instead of waiting hours for the funicular, we decide to hike up Gubałówka in slippery winter conditions.

At the top, we’re rewarded with panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains, before riding down on the Butorowy Wierch chairlift, enjoying incredible views from above.

If you’re planning a winter trip to Zakopane or wondering if it’s worth the hype, this video shows the experience honestly — from food and streets to hikes, crowds, and mountain views.
