  1. In 2019, I wanted to go to Spain in 2020. Then the world shut down. My son asked me this past weekend if I was still thinking of going. He asked if I'd like company. Well, yes! He asked if I would like him to accompany me with his 11-year-old daughter. Oh, definitely! So i'm starting now to plan for a trip in mid-June 2026 with them. Which cities do you think a 12-year-old girl would like best? I mentioned to her that Toledo claims to be the city that invented marzipan so she said we need to go there. I think she'll find the architecture interesting, too. I do speak Spanish (but not Andalusian) so I'm confident I'll be able to read the railroad signage.

  2. If you are planning a vacation in Europe involving multiple train trips, look at buying an Interrail (Eurail for non-Europeans) ticket. You can buy them for one or more countries and for different periods of validity – what they do is give you flexibility of travel although some trains will also require reservation the cost of which are nominal. As an example, in a couple of weeks I will be using an Interrail global first class pass that allows me to travel for any 10 days in a 2 month period anywhere in Europe for a cost of €511 (reservations are free in the UK and €8 on the continent).

  3. Hola, existe la posibilidad de sacar un billete en el vagon del silencio, no se permite ni hablar , ni telefonos, para mi son muy aburridos. Un saludo.

  4. I would like to pre purchase tickets from Atocha to Malaga on the day our transatlantic flight arrives…. how much time should I allow to get through passport control (non-EU) to Atocha?

  5. Hello! Santa Justa and Atocha have a lot of places to buy snacks. Great selection. They might be a little bit more expensive than if you buy them outside of the train station but not by much. I can get just about any kind of montadito that I want.

  6. Also, prices vary greatly by time of day you travel. You can plan your trip by checking all of the trains. You could pay between 30Euros and 100 Euros for the same route. Sometimes the cheap routes are also express, high speed trains that may be a little less fancy, but get you there quickly

  7. Wolter ignores an important distinction: the older and widespread broad gauge of 1668 mm and the newer routes with international standard gauge of 1435 mm. These networks are separate!

  8. I just came across this video today and of course I’ve subscribed to your channel. I’ll be in arriving in Madrid in a few week’s and looking forward to traveling via train.
    Cheers… 🇪🇸

  9. I enjoy your videos and will be doing a first-time train trip from Madrid to Barcelona, so I particularly wanted lots of good info, which you always give. However, you speak so fast sometimes that I don't catch the Spanish names or terms you use and I've lost the thread of your topic. Perhaps you could slow down a bit for us newbies to these experiences. Cheers!
