I’m just getting into hiking and need a bag. Currently using a regular backpack but it slides up my back while climbing and gets too hot.

I actually never wear backpacks even when I was in school I used slings, because I only sweat from my back. Very light activity like simple walking around the house my back gets drenched in sweat for no reason. I believe it’s genetics, my dad is the same way

I need something secure (front straps so it doesn’t slide up but I think all hiking bags have this) and relatively small. My hikes are only a few hours long, i don’t need those giant camping types. But my main concern is ventilation, I overheat very easily if my back is covered because I don’t sweat from anywhere else so I really need the best ventilation I can get, budget is not a concern.

Osprey stratos 24 (in photos) is what I’m thinking so far, because I’m seeing they actually don’t touch your back as much. Would love to hear any personal experiences and recommendations
