Hi everyone! Sharing some memories from our 6-month adventure across the US and Canada back in 2024. We are a French couple and we decided to bring our 4-year-old Samoyed along for the ultimate road trip.
The Photos:
- White Pocket, Arizona: One of the most surreal places we’ve ever seen. The 4×4 was mandatory to get there, but it was so worth it.
- Wild camping near Kathleen Lake, Yukon: Waking up here felt like being alone in the world.
- Byron Glacier, Alaska: Our Samoyed was in his element! The scale of the glaciers is just mind-blowing.
- White Sands National Park, New Mexico: Pure white dunes as far as the eye can see.
The Rig: We bought a 2015 Ford F-150 in Montreal and equipped it with a rooftop tent. It was our home for half a year. Having a real 4×4 allowed us to find these remote spots that a regular van couldn't reach.
Budget (Approx):
- Setup: €10,000 (Truck + Tent + Camping gear).
- Expenses: €6,000 (3 months of gas, food, park passes, maintenance, and a few motels).
- Total: €16,000.
