The REAL Italy: Naples is Different

Naples is one of Italy’s most misunderstood cities — loud, chaotic, and endlessly alive. #RosettaStone #RosettaStonePartner

In this travel documentary, we explore the real Naples: its people, its myths, the hidden underground world that lies beneath and everything else that makes the city what it is. One thing is clear: This is not the Italy you know – it is so much more than that.

  1. Hi Rita, I’m from Naples and I watched your video. You moved me, because you were able to capture all the beauty of Naples not only with your eyes, but with your heart — together with the beauty of your sensitive soul.
I’m sorry you didn’t get the chance to see our roughly 1,200 churches, our castles, the Treasure of San Gennaro, the Royal Palace, the San Carlo Theatre, and the immense libraries… and the list would be far too long to describe everything.
But this feeling you described will be the reason for you to come back again, and if you do, know that your coffee will be on me (and if you’d like, I can even be your guide).
A hug to you, and as we Neapolitans say: Forza Napoli.

  2. well if you don't visit museums you miss a big part. i'm happy you like the city but the center it's not the only thing. culture it's very important. castels, national museum, teatro san Carlo (the oldest and most beutiful modern theathre in Europe and in the world…

  3. Thank you for this amazing video. I live far from Naples for many years now and every time I see video like this it makes me cry. Thank you for showing how beautiful is and explain the soul and the atmosphere. 💙

  5. The gentleman who gave you the Cuoppo said, “this one is with three C’s, comme cazzo coce,” which means “how fucking hot it is!” ahahahahaha. Thank you for visiting such a great city with so much respect and for appreciating its unique characteristics. The family that offered you coffee did what every Neapolitan would do. Perhaps you don't know that there is a tradition in cafés called the “suspended coffee.” Essentially, when someone pays for a coffee, if they want, they can pay for two but only take one—the second remains “suspended” for anyone who wants a coffee but can’t afford to pay for it. The history of Naples is endless.

  6. There is a proveb in Italy about Naples (detto)
Vedi Napoli e poi muori – translate See Naples and then die
Actually you can see it in both sense…positive or negative..
My recommendation is: Visit Naples then decide; it is up eveybody's taste like an ice cream..!!!!
    ah ah ah
    😀😀😀

  7. Napoli is one of the few places in the world where you can still breath and touch humanity. A town full of life, colors, sounds, voices. You will never be alone in Napoli.

  8. I love it when someone speaks highly of my city and shows off Naples' treasures and beauties. Thank you so much for this wonderful video.
