SIM CHALLENGE: INNSBRUKE-SALZBURG. TOO FAST!!!!
My first attempt on this short 36 minute flight. It was all going so well until they changed not just the runway, but using an RNAV approach. Salzburg has some pretty challenging mountainous terrain, so when I missed the approach I had to clear some pretty high terrain! Anyhoo, managed to put Yankee Yankee down but burnt the brakes out!
Big Jet TV is the UK’s leading aviation live streaming channel, bringing viewers closer than ever to the thrill of airport action including aircraft landings, takeoffs and dramatic approaches at some of the world’s busiest airports. Founded by aviation entrepreneur Jerry Dyer in 2016, Big Jet TV has become a household name among aviation fans, mainstream audiences and even the mainstream news channels.
With high-energy commentary, professional camera work, and real-time streaming, the channel has transformed the way people experience aviation from the ground.
At the heart of Big Jet TV’s coverage is London Heathrow Airport (LHR), the UK’s busiest aviation hub. Viewers can enjoy live streams of wide-body passenger jets, as well as cargo aircraft.
Big Jet TV’s fame skyrocketed during Storm Eunice in 2022, when millions tuned in to watch pilots attempt landings in hurricane-force crosswinds at Heathrow. The broadcast went viral, cementing the channel as the premier destination for live aviation streaming.
Big Jet TV is filmed from carefully chosen locations around Heathrow Airport. We operate from a number of exclusive filming locations positioned around the runways, including vantage points near Heathrow’s northern and western perimeter roads. These spots provide stunning, close-up views of approaching, landing, taxiing and departing aircraft.
One of the most iconic filming setups is our Ford Transit van with a custom fabricated filming platform. Equipped with camera and tripod and streaming technology, the van allows Big Jet TV to reposition quickly depending on the active runway direction and weather conditions.
Popular filming spots include The Paddock and other prime locations where fans gather to watch aircraft thunder overhead.
Beyond Heathrow, Big Jet TV also streams live from military bases including RAF Mildenhall, RAF Lakenheath and RAF Coningsby, giving viewers a broader taste of military aviation.
Internationally, the channel has provided coverage from airports around the world from afar a field as Australia, Honolulu, Japan and many International Airports in the United States. We also travel to Europe’s busiest hubs.
Big Jet TV has built a hybrid business model: free-to-view livestream Shows in Wednesdays and Sundays from London Heathrow. The show is supplemented by optional membership perks that grant access to exclusive overseas livestreams, member chat and more
But Big Jet TV is more than just plane spotting — it’s an immersive aviation experience. Jerry’s enthusiastic, often humorous commentary mixes deep technical knowledge with the excitement of live, unscripted action. Whether it’s watching a Jet battle crosswinds, hearing the sound of engines, or witnessing rare aircraft movements, fans around the globe tune in for the adrenaline rush of real-time aviation.
From our headquarters at Heathrow’s perimeter to airports worldwide, Big Jet TV delivers the best live aviation coverage on YouTube and has an active app for viewers to use as a live tool. Another very pleasant evening with Captain Chaos and First Officer Flippin' Eck!! ♥️
This was great fun.
Error: You spelt Innsbruck wrong!
This is the reason I fly low and slow!🙂
I thought that after the overfly, ATC said to 'Turn Right to 160.', which would have given plenty of space for the turn back onto the runway hdg. Bit of a Ryanair landing as well! All good fun! 🙃
It's Innsbruck mate. Guten Tag is completely all right to say good day. 🤣
Terrain – Pull up! Too low! Thought you were gonna crash a few times 😂
TIP: You should be at 50 feet when you cross the threshold of the runway.
I accidently watched just the last 20 minutes at 1.5 speed and I thought you were a fighter pilot, Jerry! I said to myself, "Oy, Jerry is getting bl**dy good at this Sim stuff now"!
Always a hoot watching and listening to you two banter back and forth. 😂😂😂
I think Jerry needs learn and understand how PAPPI's work and use them.
Both Innsbruck and Salzburg are very difficult airports, almost exclusively for very experienced pilots, due to the large mountains that flank them and because they have short, difficult and usually snow-covered runways.

Great fun as always, keep the sim challenges coming, love em
Top tip concentrate on the flight plan set up before take off on the apron fly that sid and arrival WITHOUT ATC , once confident and understand flight plans then go to ATC .
Anyone know what voice mod program Jerry is using to make it sound like he’s talking over the radio? Thanks Help 🙂
