This Is a Side of America That You Never See
What is life like in a town so small it barely feels real?
In this vlog, we’re taking you to Adrian, Oregon, a tiny town in eastern Oregon where Nate grew up. The kind of place where everything sits on one road, everyone knows everyone, and time seems to move a little differently.
We’re going back to explore the town that shaped him, sharing what it’s actually like to grow up somewhere this small, and showing you the surrounding area most people never see when they think of America.
No tourist attractions. No crowds. Just a place that quietly exists and means everything to the people who call it home.
Come explore Adrian with us and see a side of the U.S. that rarely makes it online… until now!

✼ ABOUT US ✼
We are Nate and Katrina, two Americans living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and traveling as much as we can to see what there is to see! Call us expats, immigrants, whatever… just call us already.
We balance work life with travel… as best we can! We would love to visit every country in Europe while we live here, and definitely keep a list of our global “must visit” destinations.
We try to give you a true view of us and how we travel and explore the world. Lots of food, definitely some jokes, and probably some swearing…. Hope you enjoy taking these trips with us!

Adrian? What's in a Name! 🤩🤩🤩
Very cool – and different for your channel!
No comment on the glory hole.
This is the part of America that scares the crap out of me 😂
I would survive the Glory Hole simply because I would not be foolish enough to enter it. Nice seeing the small town Nate grew up in.
I bet crime is low everybody knows eachother
ending up in this place as an exchange student 😂
But a very nice side of it if you’d ask me 😊 And miles ahead of Amsterdam
YO ADRIAN! Don't laugh (or cringe), guys: I actually grew up in what is probably the polar opposite of Nate's hometown: South Philly, home of the Philly cheesesteak and yes … the "Rocky" legend, lol. But seriously, Adrian is a lovely place, Nate, such wide open spaces, so nice to see some of your family and the adorable goats, dogs and cats. Lovely to hear you recount your growing up years there, very nostalgic. By the way, my sincere condolences about your grandmom, it's so nice her place and land are there for you all to remember/honor her. And wow – Owyhee (sp) Reservoir, that's really amazing! Just curious, though: how does it feel for you whenever you visit Adrian after having traveled the world and lived in Europe?
Wow fantastic vlog. I can imagine growing up there makes you want to leave asap, but Nate's sister proves that you can create a small paradise there. All the cute animals. I can totally see Katrina living there. Sister and niece are very nice people. I think the owner of that Rock Store knows everybody and their story. Reminds me of Twin Peaks. On the surface a quiet town but what happens when nobody is looking…. The topology is so very different from what we have here in the Netherlands. I think it is even better in the summer? You rented a beautiful car. Maybe Nate wanted to impress the leading cheerleader after all these years. I think that sequence of Nate walking the stands in the stadium was a reference to something? Grease maybe? As much as I love love love these American vlogs, come back soon and show the world how great The Netherlands are. ❤
I don't think I should write a comment about glory holes. You would ban me…😂😂😂
Great video again as always!
ADRIAN….Home of the brave….😂👍
Boy, did I get your accent wrong, Nate. I would've never guessed Oregon. My middle brother was born in Beaverton, and we lived on a sheep farm while renting a house next to a farmer's during the three year period that my dad's business had transferred him there. Though I was very young at the time, I have fond memories of living with Oregon folk, who always seemed so nice and laid back. Once, as an adult, I flew with my girlfriend to Ashland where we spent three days attending the town's Shakespeare Festival. Fun times and fond memories of such a beautiful state that I think you were lucky to have been raised in.
What a beautiful landscape. From a Dutch perspective.
Kõik on ilus ja tore ,et videosid teete selliseid. Aga südamest ausalt mitte ükski Eurooplane sinna ei tule ega teie mega pisikesse riiki.
I am sorry to hear about the grandmother!
14:57 tater tots..they have something similar in NL. theyre called aardappelkroketjes. You can find them in the freezer section of your local grocery store…
The music is exactly where should be, but the views are not only surreal❤…..I love the way of how both of you randomly talk and everything is just spot on…looking forward for your next video❤🤩👻
Western Oregon is where i want i end up living, given america gets its shit together politically.
Yeah Sunday, Nate an Katrina day 😃
Since some people in the Netherlands know Nate, that would make Nate the most famous international celebrity coming from Adrian. That high school might get a new name soon!
Thank you for taking us around Nate's home and for showing us his lovely family!
Great video guys. 👍❤️Must have been nice to see some family.
is there an airport in the neighbourhood?
The Adrian, Oregon travel videos are way overdone. The market is just saturated without differentiation.
I will be shocked if Adrian doesn’t become a new tourist destination in Oregon! Thanks for showing us a beautiful part of America, that even Americans don’t know about.
Ah, you're missing the snow in the Netherlands…

What a great vlog! Nice to get a little feel of the place you grew up. I can almost feel how it must have been. Love it!
No i do not think i will survive the gloryhole
i could live there
I'm sorry but I cannot like anything about america this moment because Greenland => This Is a Side of America That You Never See
very nice video again, enjoyed it, greetings from Limburg
Damn, living in the US is not particularly a dream of mine, given the current nonsense (political) situation there, but living far from other human beings (and hopefully stupid fireworks), surrounded by animals, no direct neighbors, nature, quiet, this would be the dream☺️
Thanks for showing us your hometown Nate, from farm boy to silly vlogger abroad 😁
Depends who's on the other side of the glory hole. 🤭😂😂😂
It looks like Lucky gets more attention than the other dog. And he wants to play all the time. So sad.🤭
So fun to hear your memories of growing up in Adrian! I live in Portland and hate to admit I had not heard of Adrian. But now I know it!
I schedule salespeople to make stops in farming communities in Oregon and I have never heard of Adrian ! Greetings from Canada!
Nate, this little sightly unshaved situation becomes you! 😍
Gloryhole 😮
Idaho potatoes
Great to see Nate! Thanks both of you for showing us where you grew up.
Funny how life can go from Adrian, Oregon in the US to Amsterdam, the Netherlands in the EU.
My granddad went to work on a farm in 1898 he came back to Ireland ten years later,he had some great memories of Oregon😇great video.
I've seen all your vlogs about my home country (the Netherlands) and I liked them. Now I'm seeing some about your birthplaces too, thanks for that. I've been living abroad for five years now (Portugal, Spain) and only go to the Netherlands in the summer for 6 weeks to escape the worst heath here.
What a lovely video guys! Really enjoyed it. More please 😊😊😊
Nate nice place your sister what do you need more free meat and chicken and eggs but I hate coat cheese bring you're sister too the Netherlands four a vacation. Arnoud from Amsterdam have a good over there
Today I was watching this video and should have watched it before driving, instead of after.
I drove from Idaho into Oregon over the Snake River. Today it was still 30ish weather and still no snow. I did almost get stuck on some black ice in a rest area in Oregon. You should have warned everyone of those.
Maybe next time I will visit the goats in Adrian.
Exploring this hidden side of Oregon looks really fascinating. 302
again nice video and great music , I have become a fan of both .
I spent a few months as a school-based OT in Adrian. I love the small country schools- they are kind of like families. That must be why you are such a nice guy! Too bad you missed Baker City!
